Women were not designed to teach a male how to be a man! All you ladies that r so busy trying to roar, stop for one moment want LISTEN to what he is saying! Raising and male and Teaching a male who to be a MAN are two different abilities.

Just look at the trend. 7 time out of 10 a fatherless son has commitment issues. WHY? His father was not there to teach him how to adapt to it.

Furthermore; His father didnt have to stay around so he dont have to either. Males DO have to step up to the plate and learn to take responsibility, but males r not in this fight by themselves. Females need to take responsibility of their own action and choices as well. U laid up with that fool! No one forced u to; U did it willingly. U think u know how to pick a man but u never had a real man in ur life while growing up. So how do u know what a Real Man is??? Point blank, this guy is just simply saying that having a man in a childs life is just as important as having a mother. A child is made by a male and female not one or the other and raising a child should be the same way.

Whoever this gentelmen is speaking does what alot of these commentarys do, blame black women for raising, not fatherless children, because they have a father, what they don't have is the responsible black male with the testicular fortitude to be a responsible adult. If as the father he had the balls to make a child, he needs to use the same balls to care for the child. Instead these fathers leave the women to bare the weight of parenthood alone.

@billionairntrng You are exactly right. BUT if the woman decides to sleep around with one that does not have that fortitude then what can be expected? Time has already revealed that all men aren't going to step up. And yet these women decide to get with them anyway. How could this be prevented? Women should simply get with the educated men trying to do something for themselves. But that's not "cool" and many women don't go for that. And until they do, the cycle will continue.

This is the mentality that prevents boys from becoming men and women from going after the real men. Now if you were subjected to this ideal your entire life then you may well have been brainwashed as well until someone came around and pulled you out of the matrix. It is difficult to create art for a seasoned mind because it is not so easily amused. An immense creativity is required to satisfy the high standards of a strong mind but a weak mind is easily bewildered and wowed. Because of this it is only necessary to create stigmas that the people will use to hold themselves to these low standards like "coolness."

Or how about all the stupid dances like the dougie that somehow weasel their way into Black culture? And I don't know what I'll do if I hear the word swag again... Let's face it: music is a HUGE part of African American culture. But just as it freed slaves it can also be used to create them.

It is a vicious circle.

With the original breakdown of the african american community this situation was implemented. And without a father, many boys cannot grow up to be good fathers and the cycle continues. And some of the guys who are childless and could be prefer not to because of what they may have to face in doing so.

Ladies have their part in making the men wait before having sex. Even if it is till marriage. Of course widows and divorced women are exceptions.

what to end this cycle...us birth control and sustain from sex..that will decrease the single mother thing...I mean its not hard they have so many different birth controls out there. and yes Its many black women living with men..but are still single because they are not married.

While single parenthood over the past 30-40 yrs have contributed to social problems in general, I don't feel that it is the sole or main reason for low marriage rates in America. This focus on Black women's marriage rate is not entirely fair when you consider that white marriage rates have also declined in this country as well. American culture has shifted in that men are postponing marriage until well in their 30's and 40's to enjoy bachelorhood. Easy sex is one of the reasons men do so.

One or two single moms don't destroy the neighborhood, but if ALL of the 'families' don't have dads, they culture can die.Women cant raise boys by themselves without trusted male mentors-----. In the bible, it said to watch for the widow and the orphan. (that is true religion) .the 'widow' could even be a single mother

@juseph29 .. Keep in mind that a large number of Black women who have never been married are NOT single mothers. Also, there are many BW who are divorced and widowed without children. Single Black women do not necessarily equate single mothers and single mothers do not necessarily indicate that they are whores who fornicated as you implied.

Sweety alot of us single mothers are forced to raise our boys alone so we have to be strong, I don't think that's a mentality. I think the fact that alot of black women don't think they need a man and that's sad. I am still waiting for a man to come and father my children but where is he? About the man of the house, I know mothers that get twisted and warped and have sex with they sons, it's sick.
