  • its just so interesting to put sand in a tank of reptiles until you found out it kills them...

  • mmm my dragons are doing fine with the sand. where were you getting your sand.

  • @saygire mine died R.I.P. COOPER

  • a word of advise, youre not supposed to use sand for bearded dragons under 6 inches long, head to tail. also, impaction can sometimes be cleared by giving them a warm bath either in a sink or tub and rubbing their stomach until impaction has cleared. sorry for the loss, they are very loved pets.

  • @jcrimetime1997 they are waving, but it's not sure if they're greeting but.. I seen it happen when first time meeting another dragon.

  • What does it mean when da bearded drangon rotate it's arm

  • my nan that lives in dunvant in swansea, she has a neighbor and she bred these and she has loads of babies! still 1 to hatch but she is sellin em for £10!

  • Your Baby bearded dragon will not get impaction if you feed it in a separate, non sand area. That is what i do with mine. It works perfectly well and my baby beardy is very healthy. Pass the word!

I am sick of people complaining about how it will kill them if you have them in sand. they wont die if you listen to what i say.

  • my little brother has one. they are pretty cool.

  • The dragons are like BACK AWAY BITCH lol

  • those are expensive for regulars just so you know i can get regulars for about 20 at that age but i dont cuz i dont have the money lol

  • @saygire there 80 dollars dude for 1

  • @naih4321 i paid 20 for mine and i got an adult for half that price bro. i have three babies and two adults

  • i have one and they vet said NO SAND. just telling you so they don't get sick

  • that so cute i have no but it sick and i dont know what to do :(

  • @TheMADBOY1996 TAKE THEM OUT ASAP! and put them all inn sumthign different they will come out with toes, naila tail missing if there together! keep only like 2 at a time with wide space

  • They are doing the freestyle! :D

  • how old were they in this vid. ive just bought my first bearded dragon and he/she is this size and im trying to find out how old it is

  • baby beardies are the ablsolute best!! :)

  • Yeah i wouldnt have sand in any of my beardies tanks. And btw you shouldnt house males together at all. Two females would be fine, a femals and a male, but not two males. They are to territorial, weather or not theres a female in the scene.

  • i use sand, and tiles for my cage. feeding side is tiles and the other sand. do u guys think that works?

  • what type of beardies are those

  • Is it better to get a boy and girl boy boy/girl girl and why

  • Sorry to heart that:) I've lost 2 dragons myself . I have 2 dragons now that r nearly 2 yr old. We used calcium sand from young.

  • 1:32 right beardie the master is hear! (waves) lol XD!

  • Oh my god, they died im so sorry i just got a bearded dragon his name is morrsion and i've been watching videos after another on ways to take care of your them, so if anyone has tips please let me know it would really mean a whole lot.

  • i thought the hand waving was an action of a male if that's true, wouldn't they both be males?

  • i'm sorry they died :( they looked adorable

  • When I first get them ill start them out with paper towel, then in a month or two ill move up to sand.

  • They Died!!

  • 1:24 these are not the jedi's ur looking for

  • it pisses me off that everyone hates on sand... i know its bad for the digestive system.. but where do beardies come from? the desert. whats in the desert? sand. THEY LIVE, SURVIVE, AND HUNT ON SAND. itll be fine bro.. i use sand too

  • @fishflipp actually the desert in australia isnt a sandy desert at all where they come from they live on clay that is why people reccomend using tile because that would be more like where they come from

  • @fishflipp Actually they live survive and hunt on areas of very compacted clay, rock, dry brush and desert woods... Very rarely are they on full sand. Desert does not always = Sand, in fact the largest desert in the world has absolutely no surface sand! Please dont comment on things you clearly don't know about...

  • when they do that it means that its a female FYI

  • is it ok to have 2 boy baby beardies or a boy and a girl baby in the same tank please someone message back

  • Actually, if there both females you don't have to get a male because they don't have to mate to lay eggs that can hatch neat isn't it?

  • how often, and how do u clean sand??

  • @TheXtremeskate2 once a week and with a sand scoop you can get at your local pet store or online

  • @AtomSkaters how do u clean it with a scoop???

  • @TheXtremeskate2 its basicly a small cat liter scooper look on petco or petsmarts website you will see one

  • @AtomSkaters ty

  • Why do they turn dark like that ?

  • Sand is ok if you know how to use it!

  • you are not suppose to put them in a big tank when they are young because they MIGHT find it hard to find the food.

  • cute little fella's, try to stay away fom sand if poss as it can cause impaction, at any age.

slate for the base is best or floor tiles, easy to clean and looks great, i think the larger the tank the better, with a side compartment for live feeding. it's worked a treat for me, i understand that you should not keep them in pairs die to fighting, i've a breeding pair and they stay together at all times and very very rarely fight, however my boys a soft lad. every dragon has its own personality

  • @TheFlyUK Did you not read the description? They already died from impaction.

  • @toad773 yeah sorry about that, i never read it properly.

  • u shouldnt feed them in a tank with sand try to feed him ina different cage if u can unless its calsium sand

  • @SuperSnakeman87 Calcium sand causes impaction as well.

  • $59?!?! at my local pet shop, they're $89 or $99 depending on the color

  • @bamfcarlos I know a breeder here who sells them $20 each.

  • i got a baby bearded dragon at 10am on sat its now monday night and he is still really scared of me and wont let me go near him is this normal ?

  • @calg06 auctually it is it took my bearded dragon a week you have to give him time to addapted to his new habbitat hes very scared and if you only have one hes probaly mad and lonley but he wont stay like this forever he will get use to it dont worry :)

  • my god stfu there gunna be fine

  • the beardies r probably dead now

  • I remember when mine was that small!! So cute!

  • looks like that dude from the green hornet...

  • good size tank for an adult sized bearded dragon thought right?

  • playpit sand / sieved sand is FINE for them. the bigger the tank the better

  • sand causes impaction stupid

  • where did you get your bearded dragon at what STATE? and PLACE?

  • Dude those r so cool

  • your dragons are gorgeous! I just got one yesterday, he needs a name though. Thanks for the video. =)

  • OMFG why is everyone saying sand is bad just feed them in a seprete smaller box or something gosh

  • When they hand wave it means friendship.

  • hey everybody im a new beardie owner and i know a fair ammount of things but i need to no more.

my beardie is 4 or 5 inches and its in a 55 gallon tank is that bad? and i heard a lot about sand being bad for a baby so i have the carpet for it. plzzz help

  • @helliztobepayed Carpet is fine. I have my baby in a 40 gallon, which some people frown on because they think it's too big. Mine seems fine, he's not stressed out at all. The only problem with them being in a huge cage is finding food, but just supervise that he's able to catch crickets and he'll be good. Handle him a lot. :D

  • the whole sand thing really doesn't matter I had sand for mine when they were juveniles they are fine with it,, maybe curious at first but the learn sand isnt food quick haha,, 2 fully grown beardies now :)

  • i am a recant owner of a bearded dragon and need some tips. please get back with me. thanks!

  • It appears that no one has any idea what the arm-waving means.

At a young age it is a simple gesture to saying either "Don't hurt me" or "Hello I exist."

When they get older, it means that AND submissive males will do that to show another male they don't want to fight.

Also, I'm sorry to hear they died :( That's why you want to do loads of research before you decide to buy a pet of any kind.

  • My beardie is on my laptop and when he saw those arms waving he ran up to the screen and he was like- WTF!!

  • They have a baby one near me at a local pet shop on sand that I really want to buy..worst thing is they sold a load and probably tell new owners its safe to use sand!! If I buy him though they're just going to replace him with more:(

  • i love bearded dragons subscribed!

  • That sucks really badly... I would be devestated if this happened to mine... My first one almost died from impaction.. But luckily I found out what was happening and switched to turf and it's just the happiest little guy ever

  • they must love you

  • So you learned by killing them?

    That's pretty sad.

  • i have a problem can someone help me. I just got my 3month bearded dragon and all he does is sleep. Even when i pick him up he just sleeps in my hand. I put some dusted crickets in his cage and he ignores them. He even let them walk all over him. I even caught one n put it in his face so he could see, and he looked at it and then just closed his eyes. The basking temp is about 110 to 115 and the cool side is like 80 most of the time with a hiding spot..What can i do?

  • @ojones212 mine does the exact same thing, except i got him 2 weeks ago.

    he looked like a hatchling.

    idk why mine does that.

    im worried.

  • @TrippyMuch well i got mine about a week ago. And he is getting better and being more active. He ate his first cricket today!

  • @ojones212 yeah actually the past few days hes been eating alot more and he is alot more active.

  • im srry 4 ur loss. they looked like good pets.

  • dude it waved

  • no wonder they died!

  • @oVBerryVo another idea is the reptile carpet, easy to use, and does not keep popping up in the corners letting bugs, (food) get down under things. just a thought.

  • Omg dude... Please anyone that wants to buy reptiles... Know what your getting into, this actually pissed me off...

    1) the tank is too big, they will get stressed out

    2) they need more than just a tin can to hide in.

    3) sand is bad for their digestive system

    4) you don't know the "hand waving thing" is a mate call, or to challenge another male to fight...

    5) you need a UVB light so they don't get bone disorters...

Jesus bud it's not a normal pet, it's a reptile

  • @PvtRager sand is better than wood-chips! i know of about 5 beardies that have DIED from eating wood-chips! and they cant walk on news-paper, so SAND IS THE BEST! :) H x

  • @PvtRager I Thought Hand Waving Was A Sign Of Submission?

  • @PvtRager how could a cage be to big wouldnt they like the room?

  • @PremiumUsage no, they would feel insecure, and in danger... You can't have tanks to small or to large

  • @PvtRager so like a 4'x2'x2' would be to big for a baby?

  • @PremiumUsage Omg yea dude... Don't worry just put a seporrator in there... And as they grow slowly move it

  • @PvtRager ok thanks alot

  • @PvtRager What do you mean it's too big??

  • @PvtRager The tank is fine dude but you dont need a big ass tank till there bigger but you can go ahead and buy a big one if you want. it saves money. They do need more to hide in though

  • @PvtRager 1 the hand waving..ahaha dude stfu 2...the tank..the more room they have the more safe they feel..to hide..yes ur right about the tin but beardies arnt allways hiding there ontop of a rock or wood to stay warm...he uvb is big but not untill they start eating more then just 1 thing..and of course its a pet and a reptile why els would we have them so if u mind just to shut the fk up before you try to put someone down..becuz u really fail at it.

  • @bjrule211 i was told that the more space there is they might feel stressed out and less inclined to go into that spacious area. o.o people tell you different things i guess, but apparently there's nothing wrong with my set-up and my beardy don't seem displeased by it at all.

  • @PvtRager i agree with everything except the too big tank they live in the desert and the desert is pretty big

  • @TheFlic80 i no right

  • @TheFlic80 i no right

  • @PvtRager If they hate having large spaces to roam around in and it stresses them out I sure as shit feel sorry for wild bearded dragons they must all just sit around crying :/

  • @PvtRager .....umm they live out in the wild?????? there not like mental-y retarded lizards?? there gonna be fine...ur not fuckin steve erwin on animal planet?? chill wth the know-it-all stuff...its his pets let him do has he pleases...there gonna be fine?

  • @PvtRager you can get vita-sand to prevent them from getting sick. i just traded my friend a guitar tuner for his beardie. he said. AND I QUOTE!! "I hate it!" so i saved it and now he actually gets attention!

  • @rzrblade01 Vita-sand will not prevent impaction at all.

  • @PvtRager They would challenge that young?

  • @PvtRager How will they get stressed out because the tank is too big??? there born in the wild where theres open space. And im pretty sure the can is temporary... well... hopefully.

  • @PvtRager They will most likely grow so big they need a new tank and idk if they need anything more than a can and they live on sand in the wild...

  • @PvtRager how is to big of a tank nna stress them out there nature is the wild. wich is way bigger than that tank

  • @PvtRager actually at that age the arm wave isnt a mating call. its them stretching and exploring their movements

  • @lilyz80

It's a sign of submission. If it was them "stretching and exploring their movements" they wouldn't only do it when near another beardie.

  • @evDivia well if there enviorment is in a tank with another beardie then they dont really have much of a choice then to do it when around another dragon.. i know its a sign of submission but i didnt think that came out til they got a bit older, ur probably right tho, im a first time dragon owner :) i have two and i love them very much :)

  • @PvtRager Wow do you have to be anymore of a fuckin bitter bitch about it?! Geesh what is wrong with ppl now days always with their nasty ass attitudes instead of being nice and giving the guy advice!

  • @ilovemecabana I'm pretty sure he gave him advice....

  • @PvtRager you know they sell sand made for these at pet stores, not to mention the live in the desert, wich by the way is useally full of sand....and you need a big cage because if you didnt know they grow up to over a foot long.

  • why r they doing the hand thingy XD

  • lmao remeindes me of hitler

  • What would be the right size vivarium for 2 fully grown bearded dragons?

  • RIP babies. =[

  • Using sand for their primary enclosure will not give them impaction. Feeding them in the tank with sand will. Feed your dragons in a separate tank with a solid substrate like slate or carpet. Also, if you feed them in their primary enclosure they will develop cage aggression. Which means every time you go to open it up they assume it's feeding time. Which often leads to bitten fingers.

  • @CasedillaFoRilla your right about diff feeding tanks but no offence bull shit everytime they will think its feeding time u must not feed your dragons enough

  • dude there not supose to be in sand untill there at least over 1 foot beacause they can ingest sand that can hurt them

  • @XHPokemonHX read the description genius he already said he was a novice owner when this happened and they are already both dead from impaction. ^ other people are too lazy or illiterate to read the description as well. Thumbs down from me.

  • @XHPokemonHX did you red the desription too..they both died..how sad man.

  • @XHPokemonHX

    dude

is it ok if my bearded is like 11 and 3/4 inches long

i've been using sand for about a month so far

  • @XHPokemonHX how do you think they manage in the wild? <.<

  • @Alexanderstuve ther mother looks after them

  • fuck these ugly little bastards, it cricketts now mice later, your sick, these little bastards would eat you if they were big enough

  • @ThePhyllis65 But theyre not.. So they cant.. Therefor we have nothing to worry about..

  • lol

  • how not use sand...is that how they died ?

  • @ExodusXstark yes. they both ate sand when they were eating crickets and it blocked up their system, so yeah.

  • hand waving is what the females do it means "fuck post here"

  • how old are your in this video

  • @bambiismypet girl most likely
