Good portrayal of the social values capitalism creates. It basically teaches "Fuck everyone else & abide the social darwinist system. Oh yeah, don't forget to buy bigger guns and more locks for your doors, because you will be in constant danger when everyone else around you is being deprived of their basic needs" Capitalism, socialism and communism are all outdated social systems. I advocate a resource-based economy.
@yllierutube Funny thing is a resourced based economy would still be a Capitalist economy as your resources are the capital you wish to trade for what you want/need. Capitalism teaches you to provide things to people at good quality/competitive price to be able to buy the things you want. If I start a business where I sell high quality food at a competitive price feeding billions and I did so in order to buy things I want/need who is the victim?
@YaHuWaHservant No, that's incorrect. In a resource-based economy resources are made abundant to everyone which eliminates the need and mechanization for direct and indirect trade or barter. It would be entirely pointless to trade someone something they already have access to. Capitalism is no longer relevant and is very problematic. Just the fact that a monopoly is the highest echelon one can reach within capitalism just shows how corrupt it is; if not a monopoly, then cartels.
@yllierutube Even in a resource based economy Capitalism is what you will do. Secondly Monopolies and Cartels cannot be created through Capitalism it is entirely impossible. Thirdly, your scenario only works if every single person in the world has access to unlimited resources to fill their desire; which would still require capitalism to produce. Perhaps you should learn exactly what Capitalism, or Voluntarism if that name ma you happier, is before you pretend to offer a better way.
@YaHuWaHservant No, in a resource-based economy people will do what they're intrinsically motivated to, not be forced to become subservient wage slaves like what capitalism forces people to be. Monopolies and cartels are not only possible, they are inevitable in a capitalist system. Mega-stores like Walmart, K-mart, Target, etc are perfect examples of cartels who diminish decent wages while shutting down local mom and pop stores who cant compete with them.
@yllierutube Ok so tell me how will I get Sugar in your resourced based economy without working for it and how many people will have the sugar to give me?
@YaHuWaHservant You will get sugar the same way you get any other food you need; straight from the local distribution center. Food can be grown locally in vertical farms ran by automated machines. Today in the capitalist system this is not done. Instead, we have food grown in 3rd world countries for low wages and shipped halfway across the world in a very inefficient manner taking advantage of other people. But that's the name of the game in capitalism; taking advantage of people
@YaHuWaHservant Sup! Ron Paul 2012:) I tried to contact you but cannot through your channel. so search "It's the Puppet show!" to see a great cartoon I made about how Ron Paul being the only real person on a stage filled with dancing Puppets.
Repression and propaganda in the US has always been as strong as in any other authoritharian regime. The difference is that americans have never realised.
there is no arguing against capitalism- it's something morally neutral but unarguably beneficial, like breathing or eating. There is no opposite or alternative to breathing or eating (assuming you are human and you want to live of course), communism and socialism are just fairy tales, ideologies, religions. So if you want to make fun of capitalism you can go ahead and make fun of breathing or eating.
@IlVeritiero I think you confuse capitalism and commerce. Commerce is a natural, morally neutral human behavior essential for organized community. Capitalism is a socioeconomic philosophy that's only existed for about 400 years and happens (like some other such philosophies) to be pro-commerce.
If set A includes B and B is indispensable, that does NOT make A indispensable.
DOWN COMMMUNISM DOWN CAPITALISM!!!!!!!! PARLIAMENTARY MONARCHY FOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but not like in england where monarch does nothing , king must have some rights and power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@MegaAsqwer YEAH! And Santa is real and so is the easter bunny. Communism and socialism have failed over and over again. Capitalims has NEVER failed. It just slowly gets changed away from capitalism to another one, then fails.
@pcgamernum1 communism failed because of usa and gorbachov. gorbachov wanted to end the soviet union , elections held the majority wanted the soviet union to remain, americans paid gorbachov> gorbachov and other politicians who didnt liked soviet union descided to destroy it.
@SIPLcy If that where remotely true then how come all the communist countries that currently exist are failing? How come china is becoming more capitalist and their economy is finally improving? How come North Koreans live worse than people in war torn countries?
@SIPLcy And that's without going into the horrors of what people Like stalin did in the name of communism. Communism will always fail because of people like stalin.
@pcgamernum1 yes Stalin did horrible things and changed the idea of communism thats why most people hate it. In my opinion Stalin was a good leader just for achieving the 3 5year plans and annihilating the fascist reich. Leon Trotsky would have been a very good leader, and he could have faced wwii maybe better than Stalin, as he was a good army commander.
As if believing in economic freedom means believing people shouldn't have enough food and healthcare. You can't just steal from one person, and give free stuff to another without consequences.
Want to see socialism in America? Look no further than Detroit. Once a city called "Paris of America" is now america's 3rd world country. 30 Years of socialistic and liberal govornment have left the area ravaged.I should know.....i live there.
@YourMindOnDrugz Ironic considering it was socialist policies which built the automotive industry and capitalistic policies which destroyed it. Oh wait its not ironic.
@YourMindOnDrugz Oh i wouldnt worry theres no chance you will find anything remotely socialistic in america.. more like capitalism and slightly less capitalism.
oh memories this just reminds me of Ren and Stimpy. Now people saying this is anti communist well its true but it is also anti capitalist and it is showing how both sides hate each other, and it still amazes me how so many people think that the likes of ussr and china or north korea are communist. Couldnt be further from the truth.
Just because they say there are/were does not make it so because as some have said in a communist society there is no government.
@Dravreth China is kinda overhyped. It has a looooong way to go before its a "true" world superpower.
This is because, to the day-in-day out Chinese born citizen, the nation is still pretty repressive by western standards.
One child policy and religious freedom major civil liberty challenges. Economically, their ability to grow and protect the development of original IP is still wanting.
Some areas are modernized but China's a big place.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness They have nothing to go but up, but man, they started off somewhere reeeeaally low. Mao Zedong dying in the 70s best thing that happen to them.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness you are joking about the china one child policy being backward. no, it was advanced. maybe if people volintariily limited themselves to one child per female it wouldntr be necessary. but in light of that not being too popular, china taking the one child policy was the humane thing to do. oh sorry, i forgot, 'the market' will prevent environmental catastrophy and famine wont it.
lolz
how many humans do you think the earth can support sans fossil fuels.
roll up, roll up folks. witness capitalism v. communism; in a 'last man standing', race to entropy and death. see who wins the race by squandering earths finite resources as fast as possible in a massive fossil fueled binge of growth. watch the horrific end result; die off ! and deny that it was predicted at least 40 years ago by a nerdy third group, calling themselves something. er, what was it? oh yeah i remember now. ...
@andy765gtr And not one whose degree was in economics!
Yeah, I'm familiar with the Limits to Growth. Written in the 1970s by some physicist without the first clue on how economics works. Said the world would run out of resources by the 1990s.
Of course, they have to keep making new editions. And no doubt they'll continue making new additions so long as they believe themselves superior economist than actual economists, just because they have a math degree.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness economics is just a business school circle jerk. it has no predictive value, and isnt a science. it is blind leading the blind. they are just the priesthood of business as usual. their mantra is growth infinite. pure wank
and dont try that old chestnut on that the limits to growth was debunked, as its all becoming very real NOW. watch how economists are running around like headless chickens as the their infinite economic growth idea crumbles to dust
@andy765gtr Ok Mr. Random Internet Guy, an entire FIELD doesn't exist and/or has no credit. Riiiiiight. So, explain how the "earth" is running out of "resources" by the far off distant future of 1999 again?
What you think of by generic strawman "scientist" are no experts in the field of economics. Economist > wannabe econ-physicist who tries to handwave away the laws of Supply and Demand in their fake equations.
So whose the rational one again? Oh, well obviously its you. You so smart.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness economics has the potential to be legitimate subject, but practiced by most economists, is corrupted by emotionally satisfying false premises involving much high level magical thinking. like religion, it is based on woo and dogma. economists attacked the limits to growth because scientists broke the taboo on economists false premise. when economists question growth, they are not listened to.
they say anyone who says growth can be infinite is either mad, or an economist.
@andy765gtr In other words, you know nothing about economics do you, having never taken an econ course in your life? I thought so.
Just admit that you don't really know what you're talking about. You're all rhetoric and given my grad school environment I've heard better from too many professionals, left and right.
None of the left leaning scholars I know would attack on "the field of economics is a lie." I could devil advocate your position more effectively than you. Just, try again rookie.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness dont get me wrong, it CAN reflect reality, (many economists like richard heinman, reject the growth model entirely) but i dispute economics as practiced because, as illustrated by the hissy fit about the limits the growth (which to anyone other than an economist is self evidently true), it reacts with violent denial any ideas from science that contradict its unquestioned fact claim about growth being necessary and good. it operates in a self reinforcing bubble of delusion
may i remind you its you who believes in the god of infinite growth, in spite of present circumstances that say 'its over'. maybe you should forget 'grad school' and take a crash course in basic bleedin reality instead.
btw, i know both the left and right get a hard on for growth, for different reasons. they dont question it. however both will be forced to conceed soon that it only happened due to an anomolous gift of earths geology, and another group was correct
@andy765gtr My problem with you is no longer your stance. Its that you don't sound like David Brooks or something. Do you honestly think people look at your writing and takes it seriously?
Out of spontaneous pity, I'm in writing teacher mode, and I'm assigning you to read up on pro-level articulation and writing. Its like what I'm reading in Saul Aliskey's book 'Rules for Radicals.' Basically written out of annoyance for how unprofessional most of you libs come off. Work on your presentation.
@andy765gtr Allow me to go completely off tangent here. I don't care about the Limits to Growth because its irrelevant. No. My problem with you internet liberals is that you don't sound anything like the liberals i know in Washington and its just starting to get to me.
I've been to intellectual judo matches the likes as Paul Ryan vs. David Brooks, or Micheal Barone vs Ruy Teixeria. At least in those, arguments are articulated where you want to shake the libs hand all the same.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness So why don't you (seriously) go to some left leaning think tank, watch some past event videos, and try to sound like the guys that you see. Then you can at least come off as somewhat articulate, instead of just enough troll resorting to cliches, strawmen, ad hominem, and the pretense of knowledge.
Then at least I can dissect whatever flawed logic you have while at least I still acknowledging it as some kind of logic. Like with libs I actually deal with.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness im not like a liberal, because i aint a liberal. clue; i dont believe it is a human right to fck up planet earth for profit, even if the spoils of destruction ARE fairly distributed !
however, sadly for you (although it probably pays well), are just like an economist.
Bringing your irreligious views into the conversation as though that somehow makes a point?
Assuming I have religious views in the first place?
And overall just being hostile in tone, arrogant in knowledge.
Here, I freely advice you to at least go out and study the means to make yourself more persuasive. Still, you write in a manner that paints you as the "ignorant one" in this conversation whereas I am the calm, logical one.
"I don't care about the Limits to Growth because its irrelevant" that makes economics irrelevant then, because resources, esp energy are the primary factor in any economic system. even if they have never heard of 'the limits to growth', or peak oil, people are coming to the conclusion that economics is a psuedo science, with no predictive value, that through rejecting controls has led to civilization being on the brink of energetic collapse. hope those guillotines are sharp

At least then you'll sound articulate instead of a just enough troll utilizing cliches, strawmen and ad hominine. Form what we in the business call a legitimate argument.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness ok, about this idea that limits to growth predicted we would run out of resources by 1999. actually, if you'd read the book you'd know that was just an ex. to illustrate how they did calcs for the models, not the model itself; ie, if such a resource was x, exponential growth would use it up in that time frame. in fact, exponential growth is so powerful, any amount of resources will be used up in just a few doublings. needless to say, economists dont get the exponential
@andy765gtr The fallacy with the Limits to Growth is that it
A) Doesn't Take the Efficient Rationing System We Call "Prices" Into Account
B) Doesn't Factor In Potential New Discoveries.
C) Doesn't Factor The Renewal Rate of Resources.
Human beings are not a bunch of dumb locusts. Because we act on the Laws of Supply and Demand. Why you think you'd be taken seriously in Washington by pretending there are no such fundamental economic laws are what makes you the rookie in this discussion.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness "A) Doesn't Take the Efficient Rationing System We Call "Prices" Into Account"
i love the religious talk lolz.so as oil becomes very expensive, will 'prices' magic other energy. will there be investment money, energy and er, time, to pay for new energy resources then. hopefully magic 'prices' will also buy us another planet to grow into for a few more decades of exponential growth, as this one appears full up. lets hope, when tshtf people wont be 'priced' out entirely.
@andy765gtr You have already exposed your lack of intellectualism, civility, and hostility to truth from those who teach the truly curious. For anyone reading this, this is made evident by the maturity of your commentary.
I have no need to say anything further. You are troll, uninterested in becoming anything more than a troll. Alone in your world.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness You have already exposed your lack of intellectualism, civility, and hostility to truth from those who teach the truly curious.."
teach? u mean like a catholic is taught.
and its ironic to criticize me, as its you that believes a system can grow infinitely on fixed resource base. which would be pure magical thinking. when im that deluded, you can criticize me.
i hope youve given up trying to convince everyone that businessmen know more about the world than scientists!
"B) Doesn't Factor In Potential New Discoveries."
sounds like FAITH, a reason why economics is a religion. seeing as m king hubbert has been remarkably accurate so far, theres no reason to factor in extra possibilities on faith. that would make a really unrealistic model. being unprofessional is what economists do all the time so im not surprised you factor in things that dont exist yet. all resources are used at remarkably unsustainable levels, theres very little leeway left for substitution
as our primary resources dont renew on our time scale, its irrelevant. but as not one of our renewable natural resources (also known as living systems) is being renewed faster than being destroyed by our exponential growth, and well on course for the limits to growths prediction, id say it was a moot point.
or were you just talking about 'human ingenuity' ? which is of course, the economists endless wet dream resource of bounty and wealth !
@TheTrueHolyDarkness "Human beings are not a bunch of dumb locusts. Because we act on the Laws of Supply and Demand. "
correction. we are behaving EXACTLY the same as any species when given a 'limitless' resource. exponential growth (check) followed by die off (we'll see). all homeostatic control mechanisms turned to 'off' by those who were mad (the religious) or benefited from short term growth (business people) and those unqualified to comment (economists - aka laymen). scientists ignored.
@TheTrueHolyDarkness "Why you think you'd be taken seriously in Washington by pretending there are no such fundamental economic laws."
economic LAWS! haha. try getting an austrian to agree with a keynesian! as Washington is ruled by corporate shills, (with a sprinking of delusional liberals - happy as long as the crumbs of growth look somewhat distributed), talk of peak oil and limits of growth would be as popular amongst the corrupt grifters as an openly atheist presidential candidate
whatever; but they actually let real world subjects inform their conclusions, rather than operate in a self reinforcing bubble of delusion, like conventional economists (not all economists agree growth can continue).
to inform yourself how the club of romes 'limits the growth' book was NOT debunked by economists, google;
Cassandra's curse: how "The Limits to Growth" was demonized.
@redneck10ivan be able to choose between communism and capitalism democratically but the Russians would not let them and millions were killed (including my great-grandparents). China was suppose to be a people's democracy but under Mao 70 million were killed and to this day the chinese people have restricted rights. Cuba was supposed to be a people's democracy but Castro would not let it be so. Under capitalism, we can choose our leaders but under communism we can't. You complain of the rich but
@redneck10ivan I'm sorry but communistic democracy is an oxymoron. The basic idea is that everyone shares equally and privacy does not exist. In order to acheive this goal, a state of socialism must briefly exist where someone redistributes the wealth. If the government is stealing from people, then it really is not a government by the people. Russia was supposed to be a democracy after the tsar was removed but Lenin's communists made it a dictatorship. Post-WWII Eastern Europe was supposed to
This is true rationality is an invariable part of human nature as we always want to maximize our benefit and minimize our losses.. however, there are some variable factors that may make your chances in getting more benefits higher than others.. such as intelligence, ambition, and risk taking.. these may vary from a person to another.. but so are conscientiousness, integrity and ethics...therefore, I believe there should be some sort of restrictions and regulations to protect others...
Oh that is such fuckin whore shit. Capitalism is the kind of system that penalizes all forms of irrationality such as facism, socialism, your fuckin beloved system, communism, and racism. If you work hard for your money and earn a decent wage through the corporations and the free market, you can a goddamn mother fuckin living, so shut the fuck up and get a job.
Haven't you see the video? They obviously made a super hero that supports free market capitalism and made Karl Marx a super villain, and that's how it is anti-communist which it should be because communism sucks.
Both end up in shame. None of them work without having to leave out other people. I would say capitLism is worse though. I mean to see that those people can get so powerfull ti controll baisacly the whole world. The ansewer, resorce based economy. Look it up
@Freethinker12341 Its satire, but its neither. I really think the animator couldn't give two shits about economics. but hey, that's just my two cents.
Capitalism in itself might not be a part of human nature, but rationality is. If youre going on an airplane with a sick child and you have to choose between either a gardener or a doctor to come with you, you will probably want the doctor. One might even say that the doctor's service is more valuable to you than the gardeners. This is how we reason, and the gardener is by no means less worth to you in human value but his service is differently valued on the basis of how much he can help you.
@Zerg777 Your right if you need a Doctor, a Doctor will be more valuable to you but, if you need to grow food a Gardener is probably going to be more valuable unless the doctor also gardens in his spare time. Everybody contributes what they can and everyone gets what they need.
@podgeyboy1 True that! But not anyone can be a doctor. His service is higher valued because its much harder to become a doctor than it is to become a gardener. Sure one might argue that the doctor should use his "inborn collegue wit" and study 6 years to become a doctor just for the greater good of society, but how are we gonna make that happen? Find him and point a gun at him? If everyone were payed equally for their work, the balance of the trade between worker and employer would be tilting.
@Zerg777 Most people in specialist jobs do what they do because they like it not because of the money. You could say a lot of people take jobs because of the money but you have to also agree people's dream jobs are not focused on money. Take money out of the equation and substitute it with other benefits. People can be paid fairly not evenly
@Zerg777 Your right if you need a Doctor, a Doctor will be more valuable to you but, if you need to grow food a Gardener is probably going to be more valuable unless the doctor also gardens in his spare time. Everybody contributes what they can and everyone gets what they need.
@Zerg777 thats a good point but what if the plane was about to crash and you had to give the last parachute to a person who was born into a middle class family with a private school education or a working class person with bog standard public education, would you be as comfortable making the decision as the gardener-doctor question??
@Zerg777 Right, but communism wouldnt disagree with that. In your theory, the doctor would force the childs parents to cough up a load of money otherwise he would refuse to help the child, a communist would get everyone on the plane to pay a little to the doctor for the benefit of all.
@Zerg777 not really. it all depends on what service you need. if you had a dead plant, you would want the gardener's help. doctors are just given the illusion in society that they are more prestigious. but prestige is a baseless ranking. football players have quite the prestige but garbage men dont? without football players, nothign would happen except for the loss of millions in the entertainment industry. without garbage men, and the garbage industry, we would eventually ruin this planet...
@Thevillagepeople777 Do you understand that there is no such thing as human nature. Besides if there existed human nature we would have to go to prehistory, were we have proven there existed no social classes, no private property and no government, making us conclude that if anything human nature could be communist,
@yoiuoisad There is a Thing such as human nature which Allows humans to make decisions every day and How they act on actions done by other Humans it what makes use who we are would you love people all seeing the same race ideas and over all people
@flyingmonkey1001 The actions humans have on action done by other humans are determined by their upbringing, by their circumstances. If human nature existed then you would have to claim that human nature is slavist (sorry don't know if the translation is well done) considering how impossible it was for a roman or a person two or three thousand years ago to consider the existance of a world without slaves.
@flyingmonkey1001 People got slaves of captured prisoners during wars, and later because of dept slavery. Being the wars, and dept slavery a result of the existance of private property. Yet you must remember that there was a moment in history with no government, private property and social classes before there were slaves.
@yoiuoisad Correct again! Salves come from capture and war now, but Before a slave become into possession of another person the war has to be started to claim slaves so wars are started due to threats and hatred and war is brought along by human nature which as i stated before hatred and threats which scare or enrage another human which starts a war and war brings slaves.
@flyingmonkey1001 War is not brought by human nature. War is the result by the division of humanity into different groups, the governing classes of these groups be they tribes or nations stimulate hatred beetween them in order to pursuit their benefit. It is possible without the existance of these groups and private interests for there to be a stop to war. It is not a matter of human nature but the result of circumstances and historical events.
@iterationhex1 There is no such thing as human nature. Only human conditioning, society shapes the way humans act. There are genetic components, but it is the stresses of the society and environment that produce the neurosis..
@TheTrueHolyDarkness Hard about it, what do you mean? The need for money in a scarce pool of supply often makes people respond in psychotic ways. Just watch the news and trace the driving force back to its foundation.. Capitalism drives the neurosis of society.
Yeah what can you expect people thought OBAMA was a COMMUNIST? hahaha do you think these people know their head from their ass? obviously they wont know the difference between Communism and Socialism.. theres no point in arguing...
Woah woah woah hold up, first let me just say if u feel disrespected or anything else I apologize, non intended sir or maam. But thank you for clearing that up for me. i did forget to mention that I understood that in full communism there is no government i know that, there were just a few grey areas. But thank you for sharing your knowledge I greatly appriciate it! Friends??? haha :D
NO christmas is all about the birth of Jesus (im aware he was not born in november but it is still in honor to his birth) and giving to your fellow men
any communist country will struggle with the horrible capitalist countries in the world existing. Communism needs to be global or not at all to be done right
@Den17051996 lol capitalism is the most prosperous and right way for economy... i mean look at how corrupt all these communist states are. capitalism paid for ur computer stupid. go to north korea to see the glorious communism in effect lol it sounds good in theory but will never work because we need to earn what we get.
@seminoleboy96 As the highest rated comment says, there are no REAL communist states. They use comminusm as a charade, because they know that if they world was mostly communists, they would lose their power. Those "communist" states are really run by dictators, who try to mar the term of communism. Communism is equality - the exact opposite of despotism.
@Kashlikaro just because there has never been a successful communist revolution doesn't mean that communism is good. If you read the communist manifesto Marx openly accepted the fact that entire races and countries would have to be exterminated in order to achieve communism. I don't care what you say that is not progress or evolution and its certainly not something you would ever want to see applied.
@TheDevilDoctor1 Hmmm I searched that up. There was one word that tickled my mind a little...."The *spectre* of communism." Sounds bais already. This work may not hold truth, meaning it may not be from a communist standpoint. It might be propaganda. Alas, I digress. I'm perfectly fine with living in a capitalist nation. But for capitalism is a greedy view. Long hours, relatively small pay compared to the price of products, etc. But its the best we got so far.
@Kashlikaro ok this is good we are having a civil debate. 1st of all you cant deny the fact that every communist revolution (regardless of what the outcome was either communism or a dictatorship) has only left in the oppression and murder of innocent people. So my point is how is this progress. And in what way does this benefit society. And if so wouldn't that be wrong to impose such an ideal on people like me? At what point does it become oppression.
@TheDevilDoctor1 I agree, a civil debate on such a topic is quite rare. Anyway, any kind revolution results in the murder/injury of innocents, not just communist ones American Revolution, whatever the hell's going down in Libya, innocent deaths are inevitable. Whenever there has been a communist revolution, something has always gotten messed up in the mix, thus meaning no progress towards true communism is made, and were stuck with despotism. The same may not happen if it were successful, tho.
@Kashlikaro yes. I believe it would be ok if a communism were to be created from peaceful debate. But unfortunately the big communist supporters like labor unions have too much power and have been shown to be a violent bunch. If it were to come about peacefully i might be more understanding. But again unfortunately all the great communist minds only saw things ending in a violent way. The answer is not to blame the rich because without the rich a middle class cant exist.
@Ryofire why, do you think americans are a race. fucking idiot. it is xenophobic, americans are the master of xenephoiba, he meant what usa represents and fights for

there is no arguing against capitalism- it's something morally neutral but unarguably beneficial, like breathing or eating. There is no opposite or alternative to breathing or eating (assuming you are human and you want to live of course), communism and socialism are just fairy tales, ideologies, religions. So if you want to make fun of capitalism you can go ahead and make fun of breathing or eating.
IlVeritiero 1 month ago
@IlVeritiero I think you confuse capitalism and commerce. Commerce is a natural, morally neutral human behavior essential for organized community. Capitalism is a socioeconomic philosophy that's only existed for about 400 years and happens (like some other such philosophies) to be pro-commerce.
If set A includes B and B is indispensable, that does NOT make A indispensable.

How many does communism need to kill to have people give up on it? How much poverty must it cause before people will see it for the monster it is?
How many people must prosper from capitalism before people give it it's due? How much longer must life spans get?
Marxism is a way for rich kids to feel good about themselves.

TheTrueHolyDarkness 5 months ago
@TheTrueHolyDarkness economics is just a business school circle jerk. it has no predictive value, and isnt a science. it is blind leading the blind. they are just the priesthood of business as usual. their mantra is growth infinite. pure wank
and dont try that old chestnut on that the limits to growth was debunked, as its all becoming very real NOW. watch how economists are running around like headless chickens as the their infinite economic growth idea crumbles to dust
andy765gtr 5 months ago
@andy765gtr Ok Mr. Random Internet Guy, an entire FIELD doesn't exist and/or has no credit. Riiiiiight. So, explain how the "earth" is running out of "resources" by the far off distant future of 1999 again?
What you think of by generic strawman "scientist" are no experts in the field of economics. Economist > wannabe econ-physicist who tries to handwave away the laws of Supply and Demand in their fake equations.
So whose the rational one again? Oh, well obviously its you. You so smart.
TheTrueHolyDarkness 5 months ago
@TheTrueHolyDarkness economics has the potential to be legitimate subject, but practiced by most economists, is corrupted by emotionally satisfying false premises involving much high level magical thinking. like religion, it is based on woo and dogma. economists attacked the limits to growth because scientists broke the taboo on economists false premise. when economists question growth, they are not listened to.
they say anyone who says growth can be infinite is either mad, or an economist.
andy765gtr 5 months ago
@andy765gtr In other words, you know nothing about economics do you, having never taken an econ course in your life? I thought so.

None of the left leaning scholars I know would attack on "the field of economics is a lie." I could devil advocate your position more effectively than you. Just, try again rookie.
TheTrueHolyDarkness 5 months ago
@TheTrueHolyDarkness dont get me wrong, it CAN reflect reality, (many economists like richard heinman, reject the growth model entirely) but i dispute economics as practiced because, as illustrated by the hissy fit about the limits the growth (which to anyone other than an economist is self evidently true), it reacts with violent denial any ideas from science that contradict its unquestioned fact claim about growth being necessary and good. it operates in a self reinforcing bubble of delusion
andy765gtr 5 months ago
"Just, try again rookie."
may i remind you its you who believes in the god of infinite growth, in spite of present circumstances that say 'its over'. maybe you should forget 'grad school' and take a crash course in basic bleedin reality instead.

TheTrueHolyDarkness 5 months ago
@TheTrueHolyDarkness ok, about this idea that limits to growth predicted we would run out of resources by 1999. actually, if you'd read the book you'd know that was just an ex. to illustrate how they did calcs for the models, not the model itself; ie, if such a resource was x, exponential growth would use it up in that time frame. in fact, exponential growth is so powerful, any amount of resources will be used up in just a few doublings. needless to say, economists dont get the exponential
andy765gtr 5 months ago

"B) Doesn't Factor In Potential New Discoveries."
sounds like FAITH, a reason why economics is a religion. seeing as m king hubbert has been remarkably accurate so far, theres no reason to factor in extra possibilities on faith. that would make a really unrealistic model. being unprofessional is what economists do all the time so im not surprised you factor in things that dont exist yet. all resources are used at remarkably unsustainable levels, theres very little leeway left for substitution
andy765gtr 5 months ago
C) Doesn't Factor The Renewal Rate of Resources.
as our primary resources dont renew on our time scale, its irrelevant. but as not one of our renewable natural resources (also known as living systems) is being renewed faster than being destroyed by our exponential growth, and well on course for the limits to growths prediction, id say it was a moot point.
or were you just talking about 'human ingenuity' ? which is of course, the economists endless wet dream resource of bounty and wealth !
andy765gtr 5 months ago
@TheTrueHolyDarkness "Human beings are not a bunch of dumb locusts. Because we act on the Laws of Supply and Demand. "
correction. we are behaving EXACTLY the same as any species when given a 'limitless' resource. exponential growth (check) followed by die off (we'll see). all homeostatic control mechanisms turned to 'off' by those who were mad (the religious) or benefited from short term growth (business people) and those unqualified to comment (economists - aka laymen). scientists ignored.
andy765gtr 5 months ago

stevtar1 5 months ago

Zerg777 7 months ago 10
@Zerg777 Your right if you need a Doctor, a Doctor will be more valuable to you but, if you need to grow food a Gardener is probably going to be more valuable unless the doctor also gardens in his spare time. Everybody contributes what they can and everyone gets what they need.
podgeyboy1 7 months ago
@podgeyboy1 True that! But not anyone can be a doctor. His service is higher valued because its much harder to become a doctor than it is to become a gardener. Sure one might argue that the doctor should use his "inborn collegue wit" and study 6 years to become a doctor just for the greater good of society, but how are we gonna make that happen? Find him and point a gun at him? If everyone were payed equally for their work, the balance of the trade between worker and employer would be tilting.
Zerg777 7 months ago
@Zerg777 Most people in specialist jobs do what they do because they like it not because of the money. You could say a lot of people take jobs because of the money but you have to also agree people's dream jobs are not focused on money. Take money out of the equation and substitute it with other benefits. People can be paid fairly not evenly

@Zerg777 thats a good point but what if the plane was about to crash and you had to give the last parachute to a person who was born into a middle class family with a private school education or a working class person with bog standard public education, would you be as comfortable making the decision as the gardener-doctor question??

sweatyshorts 6 months ago
@Zerg777 Right, but communism wouldnt disagree with that. In your theory, the doctor would force the childs parents to cough up a load of money otherwise he would refuse to help the child, a communist would get everyone on the plane to pay a little to the doctor for the benefit of all.
BiddaBiddaCherryPie 5 months ago
@Zerg777 not really. it all depends on what service you need. if you had a dead plant, you would want the gardener's help. doctors are just given the illusion in society that they are more prestigious. but prestige is a baseless ranking. football players have quite the prestige but garbage men dont? without football players, nothign would happen except for the loss of millions in the entertainment industry. without garbage men, and the garbage industry, we would eventually ruin this planet...
potatohead93 5 months ago
@Thevillagepeople777 Do you understand that there is no such thing as human nature. Besides if there existed human nature we would have to go to prehistory, were we have proven there existed no social classes, no private property and no government, making us conclude that if anything human nature could be communist,
yoiuoisad 7 months ago
@yoiuoisad There is a Thing such as human nature which Allows humans to make decisions every day and How they act on actions done by other Humans it what makes use who we are would you love people all seeing the same race ideas and over all people
flyingmonkey1001 7 months ago
@flyingmonkey1001 The actions humans have on action done by other humans are determined by their upbringing, by their circumstances. If human nature existed then you would have to claim that human nature is slavist (sorry don't know if the translation is well done) considering how impossible it was for a roman or a person two or three thousand years ago to consider the existance of a world without slaves.
yoiuoisad 7 months ago
@yoiuoisad Good job but now tell me how people got slaves? and ill answer your question by answering another question
flyingmonkey1001 7 months ago
@flyingmonkey1001 People got slaves of captured prisoners during wars, and later because of dept slavery. Being the wars, and dept slavery a result of the existance of private property. Yet you must remember that there was a moment in history with no government, private property and social classes before there were slaves.
yoiuoisad 7 months ago
@yoiuoisad Correct again! Salves come from capture and war now, but Before a slave become into possession of another person the war has to be started to claim slaves so wars are started due to threats and hatred and war is brought along by human nature which as i stated before hatred and threats which scare or enrage another human which starts a war and war brings slaves.
flyingmonkey1001 7 months ago
@flyingmonkey1001 War is not brought by human nature. War is the result by the division of humanity into different groups, the governing classes of these groups be they tribes or nations stimulate hatred beetween them in order to pursuit their benefit. It is possible without the existance of these groups and private interests for there to be a stop to war. It is not a matter of human nature but the result of circumstances and historical events.

Communism is the biggest BULLSHIT out there.
If we followed Marx's way, that would be called paradise.
But there is something called the HUMAN MIND where one human believes one if better than other and that will NEVER end.
Communism = Equality? Pfft there are equal amounts of rich people like any other society.

any communist country will struggle with the horrible capitalist countries in the world existing. Communism needs to be global or not at all to be done right

Do you ever read the top comments before commenting?
ColonelMcKnight 11 months ago
@seminoleboy96 As the highest rated comment says, there are no REAL communist states. They use comminusm as a charade, because they know that if they world was mostly communists, they would lose their power. Those "communist" states are really run by dictators, who try to mar the term of communism. Communism is equality - the exact opposite of despotism.
Kashlikaro 11 months ago
@Kashlikaro communism is an impossible system because man will always want more plus induvidualism is more important
seminoleboy96 11 months ago
@Kashlikaro just because there has never been a successful communist revolution doesn't mean that communism is good. If you read the communist manifesto Marx openly accepted the fact that entire races and countries would have to be exterminated in order to achieve communism. I don't care what you say that is not progress or evolution and its certainly not something you would ever want to see applied.
TheDevilDoctor1 11 months ago
@TheDevilDoctor1 Hmmm I searched that up. There was one word that tickled my mind a little...."The *spectre* of communism." Sounds bais already. This work may not hold truth, meaning it may not be from a communist standpoint. It might be propaganda. Alas, I digress. I'm perfectly fine with living in a capitalist nation. But for capitalism is a greedy view. Long hours, relatively small pay compared to the price of products, etc. But its the best we got so far.
Kashlikaro 11 months ago
@Kashlikaro ok this is good we are having a civil debate. 1st of all you cant deny the fact that every communist revolution (regardless of what the outcome was either communism or a dictatorship) has only left in the oppression and murder of innocent people. So my point is how is this progress. And in what way does this benefit society. And if so wouldn't that be wrong to impose such an ideal on people like me? At what point does it become oppression.
TheDevilDoctor1 11 months ago
@TheDevilDoctor1 I agree, a civil debate on such a topic is quite rare. Anyway, any kind revolution results in the murder/injury of innocents, not just communist ones American Revolution, whatever the hell's going down in Libya, innocent deaths are inevitable. Whenever there has been a communist revolution, something has always gotten messed up in the mix, thus meaning no progress towards true communism is made, and were stuck with despotism. The same may not happen if it were successful, tho.
Kashlikaro 11 months ago
@Kashlikaro yes. I believe it would be ok if a communism were to be created from peaceful debate. But unfortunately the big communist supporters like labor unions have too much power and have been shown to be a violent bunch. If it were to come about peacefully i might be more understanding. But again unfortunately all the great communist minds only saw things ending in a violent way. The answer is not to blame the rich because without the rich a middle class cant exist.
