In 1990 I had guitar lessons with the guy, Dan, who was Rowan's co-guitarist in a local band, and his playing style was so similar (and easily as good if not better) He was a couple of years older and might well have even given RR lessons. Bet he was kicking himself that he never sent in a demo tape.. seriously this guy was probably the best guitar player i've ever seen and I used to jam with him every Sat for a couple of years when I was a kid
If it weren't for Geezer Butler talking Dio into returning to Sabbath just 2 years after this, Rowan just might have still been in Dio's band until the end. Who knows?

Yes, RJD set up auditions and this guy sent in a tape that RJD said blew his mind, but he didn't want him at first because he was so young at the time (19). He relented because Robertson was the best of the bunch.

This guy is amazing, but this solo isn't as jaw dropping as i thought it would be...i know he's like 19 - unreal!
