I don't have all the CC albums but I can be fan and critic. With me, it's a combination of the two. I didn't care for the Barnes era too much because Butchered At Birth was repetitive and Chris' vocals had no real variation. I like Corpsegrinder MUCH better---more dynamics, more power. The musicians in the CC fold grew---Pat and Alex are good examples of solid performance, but didn't sacrifice being brutal, either.

Hell dude check out Infinite Misery or When Death Replaces Life, lot more than just heavy riffs.
