C...,Well i've been myself in that kind of situation before and let me tell u that a 30 min warm-up is pretty good though. Make sure u pratice no more than two apparatus a day with them but a lot of not-walking-handstands on the floor; how much time d'u have anyways? 1 year ago
I'm so glad you put this up here. I need to see how real gymnasts warm up before training. The gym I'm coaching in teaches artistic gymnastics at such a basic level, because in Ireland we don't have the proper facilities like foam pits etc, so I want to really enhance the warm ups and get the most out of floor skills.
Thnx a lot; The whole warm-up last for approx. 70 min. depending on how many kids u have. The warm-up on this video lasted for 90 min. At first they run for about 2 min. At the min 02:24 u c the rope being climbing, but only by those kids, who lost the race before pairwise. At the end follows streching for 10 min.
See we are not a full time gym, we use a school hall that is only available on certain days and the most training we can offer is 6 hrs per week. I know that is certainly not enough time to achieve anything close to the standard these boys are at, but our warm ups tend to not last longer than 30 mins and that usually includes stretching.

It's usually 2 hrs per class. The artistic squad is mostly made up of girls ranging from 6 to 13 years of age and none of them are above Level 4 standard. We have about 8 boys on the squad but I don't coach them. With the girls we always do 4 rotations; 20 mins on each apparatus. Since we have so little time we have to be economic. The girls are quite undisciplined and very weak due to a lack of conditioning. I was thinking it might be good to devote a whole hour in the week just to that.
Wow
I do a lot of these exercises at home for training and get exhausted because of it. They do it for warming up.
