wham bam thank you ma'am, come on boys now follow me. Oooh man. I've had this album since it came out. I think Dr.John got his N'awlins studio buddies to turn it all inside out. It is so hypnotic and subversive, my Missouri hippie biddies and I were wary of tripping to it. The slide guitar and percussion often sound like the microphone zooms in on them, a hairs-standing-on-end effect.
Dr John is such a great artist and totally his own. As great as Dr John is , especially live, this may just be his best recording. The record he me after gris gris with that song lonesome guitar strangler is nice too. Who can forget"chicken and bisquits from Popeye´s " when Dr. John sang it.
Yeah man. Good send! I hadn't heard it before. I'm not that familiar with his songs. I love Randy Newman, who reminds me a bit of Dr. John.
This song is very swampy, voodoo like, but festival. The sound of New Orleans itself. I've never been there, it's a shame, i live in America, but i've never been there.
This song gives me more of an appreciation for Dr. John.
I've just been starting to get into Dr. John. He seems to have the quirkiness and style of Beefheart but with a smooth, accessible sound all his own.
