  • Hmm tank? Who woulda guessed IT was gonna win

  • John Deere = shit tier.

  • Tractive force is highly dependent on weight. I bet a 40hp VW bug would drag a 200hp BMW S1000RR bike around with ease.

  • The Tank is probably 2 time heavy

  • I feel more sorry for the chain that tied them together than either machine.

  • nothing beats a tank except a tank :D

  • LOLTraktor

  • seriously who the fuck has a case in they're barn?................. LOL i bleed green

  • @diesel4life7410 Crops are green, tractors are red.

  • @diesel4life7410 you must bleen pretty expensive blood then, with John deere you pay for green paint and the John Deere name, not the tractor, case is simply easier to work on and John deere stole Case's idea with the Axial flow combine. Case IH are the real innovators at a modest price

  • M113 Armored personnel carrier

  • i would have a tank in all of my fucking barns

  • Comment removed

  • metal alloy adamantium

  • does anyone know what the fuck kind of chain they used to tied them together?

  • @snowman1189 Chuck Norris' dental floss.

  • танк есть танк!!!

  • it a APC NOT a tank

  • APC has the weight on it aswell

  • Only reason the tank won was because of its treads. They are metal. The Quadtrac has rubber.

  • @IMABEASTYNINJA: Not true. Metal tracks versus rubber is not the reason. The reason is that the armored vehicle weighs substancially more than the tractor, and thus, the CIH didn't have a prayer. It's all about traction to the ground. Even on steel, the CIH quadtrac would have lost.

  • @SuperTurboDiesel2 Well, yes weight has a factor in this, but the metal tracks dig into the ground alot more than the rubber. its just how they are designed.

  • @IMABEASTYNINJA: Thanks, but I'm well aware of that. Like I said, you could put steel tracks on that Quadtrac, and it still would have gotten spanked. (I've driven enough heavy equipment like these machines to know.)

  • @SuperTurboDiesel2

I agree, it's all about the power you can put into the ground, the torgue especially, and for that high weight is great if you have a big powerful engine with a low gearing.

Right until you drive into a swamp and sink ... there being able to float, is a great thing.

  • It's not even a tank... Armored personnel carrier to be exact.

  • now try that shit in a feild and see who wins...

  • D-11 Vs. TANK thats what I wanna see!

  • @adecker119 Rofl the D-11 wouldn't know there was a tank behind it!

  • @adecker119 I second that!

  • Is that Harper??? Many happy times in that shed - oh and the bar of course... ;-)

  • The tank is 48 tons is very difficult for the frames .... but in case the driver does not know ......

  • Vulgar display of (horse)power.

  • Tractors are designed to have a minimal impact on the ground as they do their work. A better comparison would be a dozer vs a tank

  • lol farmer got owned

  • @RealCadde: The tractor didn't stand a hope in hell of pulling it, even if the traction control was off. The tractor's computer actually de-clutched to protect the drivetrain (watch it around 17 seconds and you can see where it does it)

If you watch the brake lights on the Warrior the tractor only makes progress in the brief instant between the brakes coming off on the Warrior and the 450 odd bhp being transfered to the ground via the Warriors tracks. The rest is just suspension bounce.

  • bagger2222: This was at my old uni (Harper Adams). They snapped the first chain they used. Someone then went and found the BIG tow chain and this vid was the result! :-).

ibycubysd: It's not a tank, it's a UK Warrior Armoured Personnal Carrier. Specifically, this one is the recovery/repair variant (massive fold down earth anchor on the rear). Putting this 40 tonne machine up against the d575 that weighs in at about the 150 tonne mark (variant dependant) would hardly be fair now would it.

  • hook that tank to a komatsu d575a and see who wins

  • the tank or a jeep 0||||||||0

  • @Tucks4Eva the komatsu d575a is the worlds largest dozer hitch it to the tank and see who wins

  • truck cant win, no matter how much power you gave to it... the tank is simply heavier.

very nice vid though. a battle of pure brutality! =j

  • Not a tank... Anyways, an M1 Abrams would kick even more butt so whatever!

More track in contact with ground and more HP (Digging into the ground for grip > getting grip on the lose top soil)

  • But there's certainly something to be said for it not immediately losing. It withstood the power of a tank. It's a good tractor lol.

  • @peepeevagi Never said the quad track was bad. If it had it's traction control turned off allowing it to spin those tracks it could have been a good match.

And still, an APC is not a tank.

You can clearly see the quad track winning in the beginning and then the APC revs it's engine and applies that power to the tracks. Then it's just a matter of time as the quad track skids across the surface.

  • diocaneeee panicoooooooooooooo....

  • why the fuck you buy a quadtrack if you have a tank

  • chuck norris can pull them both

  • @hootergirlsrhot with his teeth

  • no contest, try it with a cat chalenger

  • Yeahhhhhh babyyy :)))))

  • Sorry hill billy boy you lose :)

  • przeciez wiadomo,ze wojskowy sprzet wygra. Nie dosyc,ze silnik mocny to jeszcze metalowe duze gasienice, ktore maja lepsza przyczepnosc, mase ma rowniez wieksza.Nawet dosyc sobie radzil ten ciagniczek :P

  • I can't recognize the armored vehicle.. It looks like a 43 series .. But I would really like to see the same test on sand or sloppy mud, with the quadtrac running some ballast front and rear.

    Now THAT would be impressive!

  • dont know why you did it inside but any ways of corse the heavery machine will win no matter what.

  • @class770 Not always... When I was at Harper we weren't lucky enough to have a quadtrac or a tank - but did have a proptype JCB fast track. We chained it up to an old ford 4000, added a bit of weight in the right places and hey presto the ford actually managed to pull the fast track backwards against its will - it's not total weight that matters, just weight in the right places. Oh, and the shed? It's a full acre undercover so that students can practice regardless of the Shopshire weather ;-)

  • Easier for the Apc then for the quadtrac. This type of earth is more suited to the apc were in softer sand or mud the quadtrac would have the apc for lunch

  • Hah! That must be good for the engine

  • wait until the Quadtrac 600 gets a hold of the APC

  • @ACDCLegendOfRock i agree! I build these quadtracs at work and the new 600 is a beast!

  • who the fuck has a tank in their barn

  • @Jeppe772 it's in the soil hall at harper adams university in shropshire, England. They do courses in agricultural engineering and off road vehicle design so both vehicles are relevant to the courses studied. I think this was a publicity stunt or show case at an open day.

  • @Jeppe772 It was at a University called Harper Adams.

  • BMP-3

  • @Jeppe772 some 1 with to much money on ther hands

  • @Jeppe772

    Uh...Who doesn't?

  • @Jeppe772 THAT GUY...

  • @Jeppe772 harper addams agricultural college do

  • @Jeppe772 A better question is WHAT KIND OF CHAIN DID THEY USE FOR THIS?!?!?!?!

  • @Jeppe772

    who the fuck cares?

  • Thats gotta be rough on both machines

  • @CaseIH995 Samething I was thinking.

  • Looking at the stats on the M113, I am having trouble understanding why it outpulled the Quadtrac. The M113 only has 275hp and it only weighs 25,000 pounds.

  • @oisiaa I bet you its because the M113 has metal tracks; the treads dig deeper.

That QuadTrac only has rubber treads that don't provide "Traction" when playing tug-o-war with an APC.

  • @oisiaa and how much torque aswell as contact area on the diggers. I thought the tractor would whoop ass but it didn't. I think the driver of the tractor could have been more aggressive though.

  • @oisiaa That is because this is not a M113. It is a Warrior FV513, 57,000 pounds, 550hp. Don't know why so many people keep assuming this is a M113, the video was filmed in the U.K.

  • both powerful

  • Comment removed

  • obviously...an APC weight is much more

  • Thats NOT a 88, its an apc

  • Comment removed

  • @0rganDon0r well i dont need to count them cause i know this is not a M88

  • @Quattroowner this here is an M 113 , the M88 has very different hull no door on the rear .

  • @0rganDon0r no it´s not , are you blind ? this is no ARV it´s an M113 APC what you say is nonsens , simply take pictures of the M88 and M113 and compare them !

  • @Quattroowner I did, the one in the video's tracks are too wide and it has too many roadwheels to be a 113

  • @0rganDon0r The british FV513 Warrior MRV fits... still no M88 Hercules .

  • Comment removed

  • @Quattroowner It may not be a herc, but it's still no apc. It's a Warrior (FV513) Mechanised Repair Vehicle. The giveaway is the stabilizer leg on the back, its for craning operations.

  • @0rganDon0r thats what i say in the post right bevore yours ...

  • @Quattroowner Agreed.

  • Do u know that any tank can't win vs. another thank? If u don't beleive, please ask someone from the army :) Greeting from Bosnia

  • Tanks are run off of jet turbine engines, they don't rev up like this thing did. Gay.

  • @BatmanSnowcone Abraham tank is the only one with a gas turbine .. The german leopard and the british challenger have big diesel engine.... also the russian T92..

  • @NoFear990 abraham? dont you mean abrams?

  • @dirtfreak70 woops.. yeah :)

  • tank vs bycircle

  • this tank vs quadtrac600 !!!

  • wow what kind of tank is that ?

  • Hey some monkey business going on in this pull

  • Comment removed

  • We fight, go through mental torment, get blown up, spend every other year away from our families for a year, and civilians have the gall to say ANYTHING against us? Let us enjoy ourselves when we can, we don't have infinite tomorrows.

  • @Mercalio were you conscripted?

  • your tax dollars hard at work!...id say it was worth it...better than seeing a cops lights in my rear view mirror,or our boys being hurt in some war...maybe this is how wars should be fought ,we could build a stretch limo style apc just for tug o wars

  • love seeing retards abuse good equipment.

  • he wasnt ready

  • military makes me proud.

  • bad ass

    i have room for both

  • won't it burn out the engine on that thing?

  • APC. If that were an Abrams M1A1, I highly doubt that Quadtrac would have even been able to move it.

  • wow

  • There's no power like full military power.

(Hush, I know it's an aviator phrase.)

  • nice lol

  • Man did you hear the APC (not acp) wind up its engine? sounded like a air raid siren!!

  • ACP has more weight and an engine with more torque, i think it will win every time.

  • that tank is all like: no tractor is going to beat my!! RRRAAAAWWWWWWWRRRR!!!!! :)

  • Quote - "Quadtrack is underpowered, it can't even spin the tracks!"

Thats because its built not to.

Why would you want to spin the tracks and lose the traction you have ????????

The APC has full length tracks and is most probably heavier being armour plated etc, this is why it has better traction.

  • Quadtrack is underpowered, it can't even spin the tracks!

  • those bradley APC's have MAD horsepower.

  • APC´s rules!!

  • Tractor needs way more weight!!

  • It's not a tank, It's a M113 APC (Armored personel carrier)

This is most likely the A6 or a similar model.

I used to drive the A2 which is older and has a weaker motor, but still it has plenty of pulling power ^^

The A2 has 210 HP, but the first gear only goes to about 15 kmph, or 11 mph, so the horsepower are used very efficiently.

It weighs about 11,5 tons. 13 tons "warweight".

  • @Plecter It really isn't a M113 of any kind, this was filmed in the United Kingdom, the APC is a Warrior FV513 (23/24 tons, 550hp)

  • @legostalwart

I stand corrected. Sure looks similar from that angle.

  • Great video, I just uploaded the same one two days ago. Where you there when it was taken. I'm the one in the yellow and black New Holland jacket.

  • a machine, heavier, with better contact with ground and about 2-3 more horsepower won over tractor. What a suprise....?

  • that figures here the former majority of the power has this tractor above 400 horsepower but the tank over 1000 but film ok :) 10/10

  • oh my goddd its not a tank my life is ruinnnned oh no that made the videoooo soooooo much worse omgggg. faggot who cares if its a tank or not it was still cool

  • lol people are still arguing about it not being a tank when its US army, tracked, and armored. so it doesn't ahve a gun other then that it's a tank.

and if the stiger didn't slip it would have tottaly won. pulling stuff is what a tractor does best after all.

  • @ChevRcr454 Not US, British - FV510 Warrior APC

  • @legostalwart ok then, i don't know tanks very well, i know tractors.

  • ha!

  • M113 APC

  • the apc has weight advantage. thats really the only reason it one

  • looks like a tank, feels like a tank, even smells like a tank, But it isnt!!!

  • its a fucking tank, whats did they think would happen?

  • Thanx guys! The APC has no radio, no 3 point linkage, bad fuel economy, and no main gun! At least I have a 12 bore in cab for them pesky rabbits!

  • the tank is kinda for defense purposes. its a bad comparison. its like using a f14 tomcat to sow soyabeans! Good fun but expensive!!

  • Well I see your problem you used a CaseIH not a John Deere !

  • John Deere or not lol. its just an Apc.. But Abraham there and it would pulled it through the wall!

  • really who gives a fuck!? quadtrac designed for farming, APC designed for military, if the APC was more suited farming wed all be using them and vice versa. Pointless exercise just fun to watch.

  • Thats some nice suspension on that tank.

  • if that Quadtrac won that would be a shame!

  • Holly crap

  • a real tank will gape that phat quadtrac anytime

  • Armored Personnel Carrier (APC)

They usually don't have a main gun.

They always have a ramp/door that drops down in the back to let the soldiers it is carrying out.

Tanks don't have a door in the back and they have a big turret with a big gun mounted in them.

I'll say it again, THIS IS NOT A TANK, it's an (APC) Armored Personnel Carrier)

  • @HunterXray Some APC have doors in back . The Israeli Merkava has doors in the back, but is certainly a tank. The Swedish S tank has a gun, but no turret (more of a tankless turret in operation) But you are right- not a tank.

  • @HunterXray Is the yellow one in THIS video a tank though?

  • @HunterXray

    U r right

  • @HunterXray Thank u i dont know how many people i have to tell that it is not a tank and if i am not mistakin i believe that is a M2 Bradly

  • @chevyman85scottsdale Nope, a Bradley would have a turret with a 25mm cannon in it with a TOW missile launcher on the side of the turret. This look like an M113 variant of some sort.

  • @HunterXray

With out being able to fully see the front, Id say its some sort of ACE. All the same, it being a 113, Im suprised it had the balls to pull that tractor.

  • @HunterXray you realize to anyone who would have a quadtrac to put up against an APC is gonna think that anything with tracks and heavy armor is a tank. plus an APC is very similar to a tank in every way except the armament and the way it is deployed.

  • @banditandrudy most apcs armor can be penetrated by 50cal armor piercing rounds. Don't know any modern tanks with that problem. Also most apcs are amphibious. Don't know of any modern amphibious tanks. Engine placement is different, different weight, apcs generally bring up the rear to tanks so the soldiers can dismount to protect the tanks rear and flanks from enemy infantry. The only common thing with these vehicles is tracks, other than that they are very different beasts.

  • @HunterXray Wrong. This is a M88 Hercules armored recovery vehicle.

  • @0rganDon0r Are you stupid ? use Google - " M88 hercules "

  • @Quattroowner No need, count the road wheels on a M113 APC and then count the road wheels on a M88 ARV, then count the road wheels on what is featured in this video.

  • @HunterXray still i think its a tank

  • dumb ass driver of tractor, thats a damn military tank, ur not goin to fuckn win

  • Nope, that APC is ordered by a officer who may be more interested in fuel economy than pulling power. I say, let's switch drivers and I will take the quad.

  • Anybody here run equipment? Yeah, it's part weight. It is also surface area of tracks. The tank (APC) has narrow tracks that will dig in and grip.

If you want to drag 300 lbs on the ground are you going to put it on a wide piece of plywood or a narrow steel shank that will dig in?

Combination of weight and tracks- nothing to do with horse power (possibly gear ratio if you want to argue that the tractor didn't have the power- but its tracks are going forward for awhile when it is going back.

  • Its a light tank not a basic tank... Light tanks do exist! just they have smaller cannons but fire faster.

  • The quadtrac probably had more power(i think i dont know) but the "tank" (looks more like a APC to me) has a shit load more weight. thats my thought anyway.

  • They reason the tank won is that it is stronger think common scene people you think a war vehicle would lose.

  • oh fuck me..where did u find that tank?

  • Its a warrior repair/recovery vehicle so yes it is a tank.

  • Before putting a title to your videos people, please learn what things mean.

Tanks usually have a turret with a big gun mounted in them.

This "tank" has an APC chassis for starters, so it's not a tank.

  • Looks like a fucking tank to me.

  • @frosty9595

Why does it look like a tank to you? Because it has tracks?

  • As others have said, pulling in a lower gear wouldn't have done shit. The clutch was fully engaged. I suppose it would come down to the respective tracks' traction on the dirt surface. If it is the REME variant of the Warrior, then both HP and weight would be quite comparable, with the Warrior carrying a mere 15Hp lead (assuming an STX 535?) and an extra 6,000lbs or so assuming the Quadtrac wasn't operating @ max weight, as I didn't see any sort of ballast on it, etc.

  • well, the "tank" got more weight to it..prolly why it won.

  • you know I might know anything about these machines but at least im smart enough to know I dont talk about something I know jack shit about! haha some people just think they know it all and are so stubborn...to those people... SHUT THE FUCK UP! I wanna listen to "real" facts...btw nice vid...thought the quadtrac had it

  • BITCH BITCH BITCH thats all people do on here just comment and go on

  • OK but not a tank, it's a APC. if it were a real tank like an M1 there would be no contest at all.

  • i love how more people comment.. when they know jack shit

  • c'est case c tou c nul :]

  • then how cum were the tracks of the tractor were going forward and not backwards???

  • @kratos32godofwar

cuz it was beeing pulled cock head.

  • tractortom94: The clutch was fully engaged. It is computer controlled on those tractors. The tractor was spinning its tracks. When the Warrior driver got his foot down and it started to pull, the computer on the tractor noticed the increasing stress on the geartrain in the tractor. When it reached a certain value the computer de-clutched to prevent the planetary gears on the axle ends being smashed to pieces. That is y the tractor's tracks rolled backwards rather than being locked.

  • robboaus87: It's not a tank, it's a Warrior REME varient, hence the crane on the top.

    it runs about 400bhp.

bolens95: The tractor was brand new, it did not have "worn out" tranks. Also, the Warrior had driven over from MOD Donnington that morning. It had its rubber road pads in the tracks.
