  • thanks a million, i can't tell you how many shithead "producers" i've had to sift through just to get a video that actually shows you how to do something useful in ableton... keep it up

  • @xomblei You're very welcome. Information is out there, but you do have to dig a little. If there is something you'd like for me to explain let me know, I'd be happy to make a new video. It's been ages since I've done one.

  • There is no point. Why dont we just reinvent the wheel every time we ride a bike. I gave this crap up years ago, its a waste of time I assure you....

  • @tchekitout

Suit yourself, the fact remains for those of us who do sample and make our own kits, this is good a way to save time. And for those of us who choose to use stock sounds well to each it's own.

  • ableton 8 already has all popular kits.....

  • @tchekitout

I think you are missing the point. This isn't about getting 808 sounds into drum racks, but rather an example on how you can get any percussive sound into a drum rack. Let's say for example you decide to build a kit from banging on different found objects. You the do a single recording while you hit each of the objects and then apply the steps on the tutorial.

  • thanks man helped a lot.. <3

  • Loved it man, thanks. Do you know a way to make playing a sample stops the playback of the previous sample?

  • @Keukeu45 Yes it's called the choke and you can assign groups in the IO section.

    1. click on the chain view button

    2. click on the Input/Output button.

    3. assign choke number 1 to both chains.

  • @juanlittledevil you sir are a scholar and a gentleman, thanks :)

  • well its easier just making your racks the old fashion way..........

  • @AudioCzar hehe. my music partner always says, everything is a sound source.... So this is why this was a total eye opener for me. 'cos now we can make our kits in like 5 minutes, as opposed to the huge amount of time it used to take me...

I tell you, if you have an iphone or some device with apps and you've got some drum kit apps, then this is a great way to get those sound and make them totally useable inside of ableton. ;)
