@PotatoHead793 this is from Blackadder Back and Forth. He went back in time to Elizabethan times. When he comes back it turns out all shakespeare is known for is inventing the biro.
I don't mind Shakespeare, in fact I love Romeo and Juliet, and Much Ado About Nothing is hilarious! But our book in college? King Lear. GOD I HATE THAT PLAY. >:(
What, is King Lear not a good play? Uh-oh. That's the play I have to study next year in sixth form. LOL. To be honest I'd much rather do MacBeth - I've always wanted to study that play =)
@DistantDreamer93 XD In my opinion, it's an OK play, but it just doesn't seem to have the same amount of emotion in it that I've seen in other Shakespeare plays.
I studied MacBeth in school, which was enjoyable, I just didn't have a very good teacher to go with it :)
Blackadder was a British sitcom and did 4 series and each represented a different historical period. This clip here is taken from a film they did for the millenium back in 1999/2000. In my personal opinion it's the best British sitcom ever, absolutely hilarious and I'd definitely recommend it
Have you any idea how much suffering you're going to cause?! XD I had no problem with Shakespear, but Marcel Proust( In search of lost time)...that's THE most boring thing I ever read...
Ouch :) Thankfully I didn't have to particitpate in school plays. And yes you're right, I haven't read the book but I watched Titus Andronicus the movie, it's preeety gory :S
We didn't read the whole book in college. But we were looking at the most important scenes. And a lot of the important scenes were also the gory ones.
I've watched two versions of Titus Andronicus. An old one and a Modernized one. Though the modernized one was far more graphic
In fact, I've also watched a film version of both Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. It really didn't help the fact that I'm rather squeamish when seeing blood and gore.
Well, all in all, Shakespear wrote some pretty gory plays. But that doesn't keep people from boring themselves to death while reading them :) I haven't read them all but I think at least Romeo and Juliet was OK. And about blood, I had no problems with seeing it on TV, but that was before I watched Inglorious bastards....some of those images will be stuck in my head forever....
i rate Blackadder for giving him a good punch :)....i always hated Shakespeare back at school lol

I was IN a midsummer nights dream the other day! Funnily enough the sudience laughed at NONE of the Shakespeare jokes. I mean if someone says:
"some of your french crowns have no hair at all, and then you would find yourself playing bare faced!"
it doesn't exactly get you hooting wit laughter.
SneverusSnapers 2 years ago
I just saw A Midsummer Night's Dream about 2 hours ago, and after watching this I couldn't stop laughing!

@Heli2112
I had problems with Shakespeare. In both school and college, I had to endure 3 different plays
- Romeo and Juliet
- Macbeth
- Titus Andronicus (Probably one of the most goriest plays he's written)

Macbeth is his 2nd most goriest play I reckon.
