  • Has anything happened with this?

    Where is the link?

I imagine as it has been 6 years that it didn't happen.

Sadly, you need a certain type of live cinematography and this involves cameras that were not affordable back then.

Maybe, just maybe, they'll give us more info. I hope so!

Looking forward to Singer's version - will be a big boost!

  • When I saw the Egyptian decor appear, I thought "Oh please don't mash-up BSG and SG1!" But then I thought, yeah, that might work. SG1, end up on a planet that they discover is Kobol, and track down the survivors and discover that they are in fact descended from the ancestors of the Ancients, and that we here on Earth creating the BSG series was in fact a genetic collective memory. Ok, I will go take my pills now.

  • @gaijininja Nope, tables didn't work. BSG reimaged Galactica comes across the Galactica from the original series, and the phrase "It has happened before, and it will happen again" takes on a whole new meaning. Now where's that pot?

  • well, that was good- recognized the models too, am johnny come lately but am catching up- see ya at CF or BBS or at the Club :D

  • I started writing a script for Battlestar Pheonix, which tells the story of another battlestar that managed to escape the ambush at the "peace confrence". Thought of doing it with custom 3 3/4" action figures. While the cylons are trailing the Galactica and the rag tag fleet on their journey to Earth, the Pheonix encounters other lifeforms. Some friendly, some not.

  • what is the site?

  • Liked this trailer especially the Galactica. I will always like the original Galactica in a special way. Good work.

  • Good old Viper style. Simply the best!

  • COOL!

  • I live in Australia,if anyone is making a fan based film here on Galactica,1999,or Lost in Space.Count me in,I have 2 x HVX 200's HD cameras all the lights, sound recording ,crane,Jib,and all the other grip stuff.I'm sick off working on shitty Australian art house crap.

  • @reticulan5 There are some people updating Space: 1999 to Space 2099. I hope someone soon makes a fan film or even fan film series. I would take a commercial 1 hour web series. I would love someone to see a Blake's 7 fan film

  • Why not continue the original...even the new weries states "this has all happened before, and will all happen again..." lol

  • I think this has died unfortunately. The website is no longer there too. I really wanted to see this project.

  • @Galacticadude

Yeah, it looks like the site has been 403'd actually.

  • So, anyway, we've featured this trailer on the Republibot website, and we'd love to talk to the people who made it and find out the status of the project. Does anyone know how to contact them?

  • There were 13 worlds colonized by the planet Kobol. 12 were in the same neighborhood, the 13th was Earth, which was way far away, and had long since lost contact with the others. It wasn't like Babylon 4, it was more like Atlantis - a legendary place that some folks believed in and others didn't.

  • V (evil reptile aliens) vs Galactica

  • Um... I think there were 12 colonies (in all versions), what happened to unlucky colony #13? Is this like Babylon 5, where #4 disappeared? ;) If the FanFilm implies we were the 13th colony, are we going somewhere again, from here?

  • yes !

  • have you seen all the 4 season?

at the very end they will tell you about the 13th colony

  • great tv to watch - online at caprica streaming online -dot - com

  • Watch Caprica Online :

    iwatchcaprica . com

  • i think all of you should not bad mouth Ron Moores version of BSG it was his and it was GREAT ! i also loved the Original BSG and when the next one comes out if it does i will have an open mind ! remember not eveyone likes the same thing so open your minds and enjoy the creativity as it varies from one artist to another .

  • So does anyone have any idea whatever became of this project?

  • Where is the link to the site for this fan film?

  • Love it. Great job. I actually miss that music. Love the old BSG and the new BSG. Can't wait for the even newer one coming out in cinemas via Bryan Singer. It's interesting to see people's interpretations of a great story by Mr. Glen A. Larson. Love that whole mythology. Anything BSG is rad.

  • I love your completely retarded, asinine rage against RDM. It is scientific fact that BSG was absolutely amazing up until the final second, and it's still not over. Whether or not they necessarily had EVERYTHING set in stone in advance doesn't change that it was perfect.

  • this is the old battlestar galactica its old bet it was pretty cheezy but cool in its time

  • WTF?? ehh is this SG1 or something?

  • Umm.. Nope as much as I love SG-1 this has nothing to do with it...

  • Uhmm, ok... i have no idea what this is about ? Besides being dubbed a fan vid. Are we BSG fans supposed to take this seriously ?

  • I don't understand why some people dont let other people be. If you are passionate about your project please follow it through. I would be interested in seeing the final product.

  • I can't wait for this!

    =

  • I know guys working on this and all of it is new CGI and live action footage. They lost their studio space and are looking for another so things have stalled.

  • I will not be watching this if it is ever made.. Cheesy nonsense.

    Ron Moore's version kicks ass.

  • MooreRon's version is now DEAD. God Did It.

    Get over it.

There's a New Theatrical Feature Film coming, from Director Bryan Singer, based on Classic Battlestar Galactica, that has nothing at all to do with that Moore/Eick Video Abortion.

But hey, Give the new Movie a Chance, You Might Like It.

Or Don't, who gives a crap. You can always sit around and wait for Virtuality the TV Series to finally happen....

  • I didn't agree with the end to Ron Moores version. It sucked. The series itself was amazing.

The above vid is a fan film and has nothing to do with Bryan Singers version (which i'm sure will be amazing). However, he will be updating it as well. Fanboi's will more than likely scream at the changes he makes. It will not be an 80's cheese-fest.

I loved the original series, when i was 7. Looking at it now, it is awful.

  • eh --- More SFX than trailer.

  • you gotta feel sorry for these people - any attempt at remaking BSG will pale in comparison to RDM's version, whatever you think about the ending

  • "Moore, Ron" version is just proof you put enough sex into a show, fanboys will love it no matter how much it sucks. If he wasn't going to stay true to the original AT ALL... Not even a darker, more realistic take on the original why even make it "Battlestar Galactica"? If your not going to make something true to the original AT ALL. MAKE YOUR OWN FRAKKING SHOW AND LEAVE BELOVED CLASSICS ALONE. The same goes for the new Star Trek "Reboot". I'll take "New Voyages" over it any day.

  • The Ending? Oh, you mean the Pigeon Sweeping, or the God Did It part?

Hey maybe they'll have an RDM BSG Continuation Movie. Yeah, they can call it "Galactica Meets the Flintstones"....

Ooops, can't do that, RDM destroyed the fleet....

Well, at least the Cylons had a plan, cause RDM sure didn't....

  • As long as Bryan Singer doesn't have everyone slapping each others backs with baulchy American bravado the day after humanity is destroyed by the Cylons, then i'll be munching my popcorn like the next person.

Singer is an amazing director and he'll be able to emulate the original story perfectly.

  • Eek, looks even cheesier than the original

  • It was canceled, stop perpetuating rumors

  • What was canceled? Was this suppose to be another BSG?

  • It was scraped, (before the remastered came to be) this was more based on the original.

  • Iiiiiiii dont know... its interesting to see the Egyptian architecture and ship fying in was cool. everything thing else looks kinda cheeseville

  • NOT cancelled. Just taking much longer than planned. I'm a member of the forum so I know. As the saying goes "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry".

  • soo any idea for a date then its out?

  • No sorry. The person heading this up went overseas for a while and just returned home recently. Hopefully finished this late year. My guess for earliest possible time.

  • thanks as then it is out i want to see this! as the trailer looks good!

  • According to the forum on the project's website, it has not been canceled and is still in progress.

  • comming in 2006!

its 2009 when is it comming?

  • canceled

  • aww i was looking forword for this

  • Awesome!!! I Look Forward to seeing some episodes real soon.

  • Great trailer, what's the status of this production? Is work continueing or has it been abandoned?

  • Nice! I'll see it when it comes out!

  • Very good. I love the original and the new version. Excellent story telling and great sfx.

  • YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH;-D!

  • I'm not going to get into the "New version Vs Old version" debate... they're both awesome shows, and there's room for them to share.

As far as this fan made trailer goes... well done guys! Looks like you've put a lot of love and hard work into this. I look forward to seeing the end product.

  • THe reimagined series is by far superior in every way. Its almost like the complete opposite situation with the star wars series.

  • Yeah.

  • There's no superiority in dysfunction

  • sorry I meant to type "without" the terible writting and stories of the original,,the original had great concepts and characters but the stories were slow and juvinile written, now the independent film makes here can put some good written stories and I think they will,,, cant wait too see more

  • and they can do it afte the re-imagned show is done, they can do there own version true to the original with the horrible writing and bad stories,,, the concept of the original is really exciting again

  • Show some respect for the classics.

  • Totally agree. The only good thing about BSG 1978 is that it spawned the 2003 version which is superior in all respects, and Richard Hatch is good in it too.

  • If the original BSG was so terrible why remake it at all? Why not just invent your own FRAKKING SHOW.

  • Nice! I too wish Richard Hatch had been able to do the things his way.

  • Would have been nice. The new BSG is good, I just pretend its not BSG. Hatch's version would have been great. The world was ready for it. Nice job.

  • sweet
