Bono is actually in the moment here, and singing with sincerity. I've seen him sing "Bad" too many times where he's too hyper and just shouting the words (and making up words) instead of gently singing them.....this is a genuine performance.
My favorite U2 song ever and it was an ethereal experience being at this show. Haven't been able to see them since but sure wish I could see them at least once again.
I went both nights in Glendale, this was the 2nd night. Great show. Besides Bad, they also played Gloria and The ocean. They always seem to dig a little deeper into their catalog on 2nd or 3rd nights in a city.
@Ireland61290 I totally agree! Down the thread you read the typical "his voice wasn't what it used to be," "it was off that night," blah, blah, blah. Rubbish! This was an incredible performance of their best (yes, even better than Streets IMHO (and I've seen plenty of shows) live song ever.
looking for the source for this video, please reply if you know where to grab a copy (I have the audio bootleg, but was at the show and would love a video too)
its not nice seeing him struggle on this song, but lets remember he gives his all in every concert,as a singer i know how easy it is to get carried away and lose your voice, the man just got somuch passion he goves overboard sometimes:-)U2 FOREVER
Bono seems to take the safe route on the first performance of each song, thus I'd say he did a great job here. STILL my favorite song. This rendition is about as 'neutral' and 'right off the record' as it comes... so it HAS to be good. THANKS!
Ya, I wish he'd stop with the smoking, but his voice and even the guitar here is way better than the performance at the Boston '01 show. Not that I thought it wasn't great in its own right but was bit lackluster compared to past performances. This one is just outstanding though!! My all-time favorite song by my favorite band. I really appreciate you sharing this clip.

This is U2's Bohemian Rhapsody. It has the ballad the roar and explodes into passion, without doubt the greatest song that they perform live

Yeah... And Freddie Mercury's voice also got "worse" after a few years, yet the song remained good live... :)

Man his voice is not like it used to be. At least the performance has some passion behind it.
