  • FANTASTIC NICE COOL VIDEO

  • I agree with NarodieMstiteli. My mother grew up in Dayton, and remembered the V&T bringing freight cars of grapes, which the Italians would pick up to make their wine with. I visited the area a couple of times recently, and was sort of disappointed to see only the diesel, (I love steam engines!), but it was spectacular to see anything running on that line again!

  • I wish they would run those cars on the regular trains and bring back the #29 hell everytime I am there they have that damn diesel running

  • I have my opinions. But it may not be worth anything, I',m just happy to see a train, any train, on that route.

  • It would be cool to see a photo freight on the new line.

  • It would be cool to see it electrified, continued to Reno, or run a small commuter line. But all that ain't gonna happen as far as can be foreseen. There's trouble enough ahead just getting to Carson City.

  • Hey Pieman, you're actually not too far off. The Gray's of the REAL Virginia and Truckee have a couple hopper cars and a tank car or two, they could put together a VERY short freight train!

    Jim

  • yah but I doubt thats ever going to happen with Jim Gray

  • do you know who was at the throtle on this special I am friends with a man who is involved with the V&T

  • I didn't notice this comment for a long time, sorry. I think it was Jerry Hoover.

sure, it can be done. Just go get them some freight cars and they'll talk about it.

  • What a wonderful wrap up.....Looking forward to the next project with such good cam and sound action!
