I was at the game yesterday and it's still surreal that we park our cars on the grounds where Shea used to stand. Change disturbs at first but we come around to accept new eras and new memories. But they gotta move the CitiField fences in some. Three guys tagged up from 1st to 2nd on fly outs. Are you kidding?
thanks for the posting I added it to my favorites ,but please don't get me wrong it's a bitter fairwell and just like you said in the vidio " what a shame " what a shame" My sentiments exactly . Cheer up my friend we'll always have memories Game 6,69 Mets ,86 Mets all the way to that bitter Sunday on Sept. 28,08 with the touching Shea Googbye ceramony after the bitter loss to the stincky fish.Citi Field here we come -Mon 4/13/09
Its going to be damn weird crossing the White Stone Bridge, and not seeing the famous Blue outline of Shea and of course the characiters of the baseball players.
And I feel that the reason they out so many signs that say Citi Field is because people will look at and say, "What is that there?", but with Shea, Everyone knew it was Shea.
The thing I am looking forward to is that they are marking down where home plate, the pitching mound the bases are so I can "play" there, which was my dream.
Thank you so much for posting this. As tough as it is to watch our beloved Shea days end, its going to be nice to experience CitiField. RIP Shea Stadium...thanks for the memories.
this is so upsetting! i was planning on visiting the stadium when i was older .

I have nothing against Citi Field and other than the higher prices I expect to enjoy watching the Mets from there, however it will never replace Shea

A sad day indeed, they should paint the new stadium orange and blue.

The Mets disgust me
with the money they got they could of called the place Mets Park but no they opt for what the teams that heve no money do
Use corporations names for the stadium

Trust me. 5 to 10 years from now Yankee Stadium will be something like Coca-Cola field at Yankee stadium.
