One must be able to forgive a thosand times worse than his betrayal..tis my before marriage my prerequisite is that she can shot me in love and be shot in love..the ultimate test of love. Is giving yourself completely up unto death for your friend/god/ family/government(if it was good)/morals...yes you can kill over morals as well people. Frasier is lovely, but he needs to check himself on that move seriously.
Lets see, Gil proposes a toast and drinks his entire glass of wine at 9:09. But then as soon as he sits down at 9:20 he still has a full glass of wine in his hand? Lol, must be movie magic.
Thing is, this episode had a lot of provoking moments, but season 11 made them meaningless. Which leaves it sticking out like a sore thumb. Roz's possessive clinging to Frasier changed by her moving to a new job, Frasier and Julia's relationship bringing out a nicer and more vulnerable part of Julia that hadn't been seen much before. Season 11 just makes it out that Julia's just a bitch and Roz stays with Frasier despite her ultimatum. It leaves this episode kinda hollow in the long run.
OMG!! Help me. I have been watching all the Frasier episodes over and over and over again! Guess I have been around the whole series at least 10 times in the last 3 months. I need to talk to Dr Crane. What is the number to call in to his show?? Does anyone know? Please tell me.
That fight between Julia and Roz in the radio booth is fucking *epic*, especially that threatening "stay away from him". I love how protective Roz is of Frasier, like a clingy little sister -- she's really scary when she wants to be O.O
Martin is so cute. It's true about senior citizens. Many countries' birth rates are going down, with life-expectancy going up, senior citizen population will demand more attention.
I couldn't agree more. The success of this series depended on fine acting and a degree of understatement and delicate timing. Yes, there are the occasional powerful personalities like Fraser's agent Bebe who manage not to upset the balance. But Millicent Martin crashes in and dances around in hob-nailed boots. Why did the show need her? The same goes for Daphne's uncouth brother.
It's curious but through all of Frasier's pretentious, fussy, and snobby pomposity I've never once found myself disliking the character. Until this episode. I can't fathom how he could choose Julia over Roz, his friend of ten years! I realize Roz was being irrational, but there were other ways to handle the situation than to betray such a strong friendship. Roz might've forgiven Frasier for this but I never would have.
@abracrow1000 My thoughts, exactly. Realistically, there would've been a longer discussion. A 10 year best friend would not sever ties so easily, especially not in favor for a few week old tentative relationship.
@beatz02 its none of roz's business... id dump anyone as a friend or a lover if they made ANY ultimatium... only weak, insecure, unloyal, dependent people do such things and only weak beta people accent them....
@JessOnTheRun haha.. It seems you're simply repeating Frasier, but Frasier is the last person in the world who could legitimately say "It's none of Roz's business" considering his track record! He's Mr. Everyone Else's Business, and I think it is Roz's business, seeing how close they are and how much Frasier values her opinion. Roz's ultimatum was silly, but ironically you failed to see your own ultimatum (which is even more sillier than Roz's) to any friend or lover who presents you with one.
@beatz02 NOPE!... people come and go in your life: & those of us that are very experienced and wise in the ways of the world & its people know that anyone who drains ur energy or takes from you, is only going to present a bigger problem eventually... its better to scrape them off and move on... if someone throws a tantrum like Roz, because they cant identify the source of their frustration, that's something different... its best to give them space and cooling off time, but still stand ur ground
@abracrow1000 I don't think he was really "choosing" Julia "over" Roz. He was more just stubborn and pissed and reacted immaturely instead of going "whoa whoa whoa let's all calm down and talk about this", like he should've.
After all, all he knows is that Roz was suddenly in his face telling him that she wouldn't be friends with him if he didn't dump his girlfriend, and I don't think that kind of reasoning would sit well with a person who was Maris Crane's brother-in-law for 15 years.
I can definatly see why Frasier likes Julia. Some people just do not want to believe in pure evil, sometimes we wish that even the baddest of bad guys have a heart, its a belief so strong, it sometimes deludes us.
Roz is hotter to me. The weird part is Roz was right all along Frasier ends up dumping her.. The one thing I have learned is when your female friends tells you a girl is not right you listen because 90% of time they are right. It's like you women have radar or something where you can pick up on loose women and girls with attitudes. haha
I do like this episode. It shows their versatility. I like Julia's character to cause all that tension. It's something fresh. Frasier carried the last scene perfectly. Impressed with Roz's lines too at the end. I like the scene too between Roz and Julia in the both ready hit each other. The scene felt so real, just like what we see in the real world.
@jdhathrisen Because after Daphne and Niles got together the comedic tension surrounding that plot dissolved so they grasped at other characters/plots to try and keep the show going until the end.
Roz usually wears such whore-ish, sexy outfits. I suspect they made her wear that stupid jacket with the pointy shoulders in an effort to make the viewer unsympathetic towards her bitchy attitude. Didn't really work, I'd still fuck her at the drop of a hat. She'd have to burn that retarded jacket though.
That dinner was one of my favorite scenes. It was great to see all the KACL staff out of context. I didn't really appreciate what a man-tastic group it was until this episode. In it's own way, it's like Roz is the level-headed, responsible sister to a bunch of immature brothers - just like Daphne. I love how this show plays with gender roles without being overtly sexual. Some of the cleverest writing and best casting in the history of TV.
@KoH4711 He works in sales. For someone that watches Frasier so much, you really know NOTHING about it. You leave comments all over YouTube on numerous Frasier videos and not once have you been right. A true friend helps one out even if it hurts them. Roz was being super controlling and was, as Frasier says, giving up a great opportunity just to stick to what she knows. Roz put Frasier in a very unfair situation, and Frasier choose what he thought was the lesser of two evils. This way, he remains with Julia, and Roz moves on to a great career and learns to get over her hatred of Julia.
Of course, Season 11 changed it all, but at the time, Frasier thought it was the best thing.

I can't rewatch this episode too often because I find it intense - but I do enjoy the funny bits :)

@Rinry I feel exactly the same way!! I go out of my way to avoid it because it is too much for me, lol. Now I just watch the first 2/3rds and leave the rest ;)
