  • LOVE THIS!!

  • Reminds me of the good ole days, when artists actually wrote, and played instruments on songs!!

  • What a treasure!!! Thanks a lot for posting this beautiful song!!!

  • Second best song of 1978 behind Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street".

  • Needs more cowbell

  • speaks volume.

  • ...Takes me back to my high school days! Oh,The 70's! Such a wonderful time, Great memories! Thanks lilybee06 for posting this!

  • known for such songs as, "Texas", "Workin' On It" and "Road To Hell".

  • Thanks , Sandy for the memories, Perry

  • the 70's is timeless and always will be. music like this is gone..... pity!

  • Great music video from the 70's!

  • Reminds Me of Days Gone Past and How I Swore It'd Never Be Over, But All Good Things Come to an End, I Think of You Often J.L.E. aka Ruby...

  • ....brings back memories from a lifetime past

  • Good song and a better time now gone by. It must have been cold in the studio where he performed the song, since he felt the need for a scarf.

  • What melodies...! What a decade! Music was elegant and very well written. Takes me back to my junior high days. This song just takes you away.

  • It's a nice song, but I know better. Prefer Billy Joel, Just the way you are and Bob Seger, we got tonite

  • I know men don't like this, but, Chris will you marry me! He is the most sexiest men on the earth! I love you, Chris!

  • Oh Honey, that VOICE! Gives me chills, every time!

  • omg HE was so hot!!

  • @1lorit He must have been COLD - He was wearing a scarf! :)

  • Smoooooooooooooooooooooooth!

  • @vandella223 totally agreed James Spader when he was in pretty in pink....

  • love this!

  • "newborn eyes always cry with pain, first look at the mornin' sun" wow, what a lyric!!!

  • This is BEST song ever! Friend turned me onto Chris I cant get enough of him old and new songs.

  • They just don't make em like this anymore. Today ya got auto-tone talentless crap and lil kids eat it up.

  • OK...is he in Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin, or Ravenclaw?????

  • Smoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth !!!!!

  • Great song but the 1988 rerecording is much better...this version and production smooths out his bluesy slide guitar Bryan Ferry continental European stylings too much...plus he looks like Barry Manilow here a little too much, haha...Chris would like this version buried if it was up to him, makes him cringe...his voice is too high here as well.

  • @powerpoplarry Don't agree at all. Nothing from '88 was good. The 70's is the shit!

  • @powerpoplarry BUt I think that Chris would agree that it was this song at that time that gave him the highest exposure...IT is a great version as well

  • This song has such a great beat to it and great vocals. It takes me back to a time when life was simpler and easier.

Today's music has nothing on the music from back in the sixties and seventies, but I think the seventies was the last decade for great music with lyics that reach down to your soul and touched your heart and at times even made you cry over a lost love, friend or family member.

These songs always manage to bring back memories good, bad or sad,but still memories just the same.

  • @rollers71 well said...

  • i like the scarf :P and the snickers. but apart from joking, great great song.....

  • The 70's and 80's produces some of the best music ever written.

  • I wish my mom could here this song....Fool if you think its over...its just begun

  • THIS is my all time No. 1 non-instrumental song. For anyone who likes Chris, may I recommend "Nobody But You", avail on YouTube...just might be the best song you've never heard before.

  • i would really like to know that stupid as@#@ who voted

    dislike.....

  • @nikosf I guess he thought it was over...

  • Love the song.....great decade of music back then.....nothing like it now :(

  • Великолепно!!!

  • ANGELIC FACE AND EYES...VOICE OF AN ANGEL...ANGELIC MUSIC...AND A GREAT TRUTH IN WORDS OF THE SONG. Chris The Great... Cannot get enough of his music!!!

  • I wonder if his sister really did find a better man

  • A classic that never grows old, it sounds as good today as it did then. A truly inspired song by Chris Rea. Thank you for posting this video.

  • At least they are using REAL instruments in this song...nowadays...forget it!!!

  • Best version. Thank you.

  • he looks like danny bonaducce, the red headed kid from the partridge family

  • @albertito006 Ya know...you may be right!!!

  • Great song. This guy reminds me little of Peter Criss the original drummer of kiss, they look a little alike (without the make up lol) and both have that rasby voice, he must be from NY too. Go take a quick look at Peter Criss sing "Hard Luck Women" or "Beth" and let me know what you think.

  • @Journey432 you are spot on with those similarities, the singers -and this song and hard luck woman- my fave song from by KISS.

  • @Journey432

    He's from Middlesbrough

  • love this!!

  • Everytime I Hear this Wonderful Song it reminds me of 1978 when I was 16. A Much Simplier & Happy Time. Now can I go back Please ?

  • @perpetual61 I feel the same way! '78 was a great year, I was 13 and life was simpler!

  • Thank you for posting the "hit" version of this wonderful record. This is the one they played on the radio in 1978, the same time as Walter Egan "Magnet & Steel" and Pablo Cruise "Love Will Find A Way."

  • I haven't heard this song since the 70s- it made me cry then, as I cry now listening to it-but this is what songs should do-bring out raw emotion, and make you reflect on your life-today's music is purely sexual instinct, and doesn't reach the deepest core of your soul.

  • I jsut love this song - there is so much going on in the back ground, with the xylephone, synthesizer and the SHH-Shing, SHH-Shing going on during the verses; this song would be awesome to listen to even without the words.

  • this song is one of my fave.brings back good and happy memories with my friends back home.

  • this is when music was music.the artists made you feel what they were singing, ..

  • beautiful song i remember first hearing it on fm radio back in 1978 i like just as much today as i did then never get tired of listening to it.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG.......never ever get tired of listening to it......a wonderful musician and that amazing voice.....thank you so much for posting this!!!!

  • does anybody know what eddie guy the guitarist with chris is doing and where can you find information about him

  • classic!

  • Always special, always lovely, since '78; rapping up college and to this day. ...no matter where I go, or what I do.

  • Sweet 70's... If only there was a time machine...

  • Exquisite song....timeless classic and of course, from my favorite decade!!!

  • Another "gem" from the 70's!!!

  • EXCELENTE

  • Great version! Thanks! Love this song....

  • Beautiful!

  • damn.... what a song, what a decade, greatest music

  • I love this song. Thanks, Chris! You are fantastic!!

  • Not only after a break back.

  • Simply beautiful .

and Chris Rea has a beautiful soul ..

  • Chris Rea with the scarf he wears on his first album cover!

"New born eyes always cry with pain, first look at the morning sun

Fool if you think it's over,it's just begun."

    You were right Brendan,great lines.
