theres a few things that could be wrong

1) if you're uploading the image file to your website sometimes you need to change the source of where you are getting the image because the server cant open your personel computer files,

2) This is a problem that i doubt it the reason but maybe your browser cannot understand the HTML you inserted, make sure you always use the same browser when you are using HTML because not all browsers will display pages the same.

i have a bit of a problem......i set a background image through notepad, after saving and opening it shows the image... but but when i upload the same file to my wesite it shows all contents but not the background image......why??? can anyone help me out of this??? after uploading no background image is there but only a white BG

@perfectmoron1 there are a few ways that are suggested.

1st confining the size of the web page by using size regulating code in the html lines.

2nd using repeating 1px tiles that create the background as a unnoticeable constant.

3rd JavaScript though block by many sites can be used effectively towards this end if done correctly.
