Have you played around with Session Strings Pro by chance? I'm trying to figure out what to acquire next; the aforementioned product or this. My system is not capable of handling the eastwest products fully, and I'd need an external drive. Knowing that you are most likely very reliant on external drives, would you be able to recommend an external drive/enclosure with firewire 800? I hope you have the time to advise me regarding the instruments/drives. Congrats again for winning that contest.

So, guys. I'm using this program now, and I can use it on standalone, but not vsti. Because, the little 'File' button in the top left hand corner is missing, so I can't change my soundcard settings. So when I use the vsti, It's soundcard settings are on default. So how can I change it, There's an output signal but no noise coming out :\

I'm not a fan of EWQLSO which I consider pretty far from the real sound of an orchestra and being myself a conductor I kinda know what i'm talking about...however there are ways to make all these kind of instruments get closer to the real thing. Play separate parts (primi, secondi, violas cellos and doublebass) and voice them as a real orchestra and not like a keyboard. Get some real symphonic score and practise and you'll see a huge difference. BTW I use Vienna's Instr vst.

@TOPCHOICE29 - EWQLSO contains Strings / Woodwinds / Brass / Percussions (solo and ensemble)- a complete good sounding orchestra... Hollywood strings just contains only strings section (just ensemble / no solo strings), but they sound far more realistic and emotional then any other string library - it's even making the strings from EWQLSO sound "static" - and you need a very powerful computer (fast quadcore / 8GB RAM / 64 bit OS & Sequencer) for this 300GB library.

I think it sounds a lot better if you are using sequencing software to compose something rather than playing it live. As you can obviously change the volumes and things it can sound really good. Personally im not really a fan of playing live with it as you have to be really careful how hard you press the keys and things.

@Matiaxz1 That's how keyswitches are used - by hitting a super low or super high unused key (like C0 [dependent upon the range of the sample]), the overarching articulation is changed, which can change from smooth legato to struck staccato to sharp marcato to blunt pizzicato at the touch of a key. It's really not hard once you get your hands dirty with it.
