Those people "stareing down your neck all the time" are your parents, I assume. About 19 years ago daddy put his dong in mommy's vajaja and you were created out of tiny, sticky cells. Without them, there would be no boy or his dreams. I'm glad you're happy and ready to 'take on the world' Ben, but try not to forget what your rents did to help get you to where you are!! I wish I had rents. ;(
On the application of my college's housing dept, it asks whether I want to be arranged with gay roommate or any specific ethnicity. Enjoy your college years.
I would wait until you know your roommate before bringing your Disney clock, you can always go back to your home and bring it to your dorm. I would hate it if it got damaged. I wouldn't bring anything of great value or sentimental importance when you first move. Just because you trust your dormmate doesn't mean that other people who enter your dorm would respect your belongings.
I look forward to hearing your experiences of dorm life.
Yay4Dorms! Even if they're close to your house.. lol.. I guess if you can spend the cash it's definitely worth being out and independent.. hopefully your mom doesn't expect you to be back home every weekend for family fun time!
Moving to a different city to go to college is a wonderful and exciting experience!! I remember when I did it a couple of years ago, I was fascinated by all these new things...but one thing that's NOT good is to share a bedroom...I never had to, always had a room of my own, but I'm sure I'd hate it if I had to. =/
(I praise privacy way too much!)
But anyways... congratulations! I hope you can make the best out of this transition^^
@boywithdreams12 thats why i met someone on facebook who was also and have stuff in common with and we requested each other so...no awkward macho guy situations :D
Had a roommate at university with OCD, I could never leave anything out or he'd think it needed cleaning. iPods don't work if you put them through the dishwasher...you'll do fine, i'm sure you'll have a great time :D good luck
I know how you feel! I am going to college too. well 7 hours away from where I live... not like down the street. But I'm also contemplating whethere I should bring my Gaga posters or not. But we'll see.
I hope you really enjoy college and living on your own. My deepest hope is that all of those wonderful dreams you have, and a lot more, will come true. :-D
Going off to college will be an experience. You will learn and grow and change. You will meet new people. You also will start to shape the person you will become. You will learn things about yourself. Most importantly, get the most out of your education.
I am telling you this because I am an academic advisor at a university.

Hope the move goes smoothly.
Just be yourself and things like a Disney Princess clock wont matter.
All the best with your classes.

I get to stay home for college, since my college has no dorms, but it don't bother me, it's the education I'm after, not the place to stay. ^_^
