My god,the bad guy dont stand a chance,he well and truly sets out to kill him by initially strangling him then eventually drowning him,im sure in the uncut version tarzan after drowning him takes him down to the bottom and pushes off the top of his head with his feet to keep him down there?or have I dreamt that?

one minute n a half underwater aint no big deal even if under pressure of an underwater fight- pearl divers can stay under much much longer n hve to deal with greater pressure of the ocean depths plus fighting to get the pearls outta those darn clams! I used to live near the sea as a child and my cousins and I could stay under almost 2 minutes ( my dad more) re-enacting scenes from Tarzan Tv series and Man From Atlantis Tv series... anyone know when these two series will be released on dvd?

There is another clip somewhere from a non Tarzan movie where former Tarzan actor Clint Walker beats up Ron Ely. I can't find it now but it is or was on youtube.

I think the movie was called 'Cry Of The Wolf' or something similar.

This is kinda kool, b'coz today, when stars are shot underwater, if it ever happens, they swim by the camera and the shot is changing about ever two seconds and they're probably about six inches below the surface. In this they're probably in about ten feet of water at least and some of the shots are a good thirteen seconds long. That's long if you're fighting or your arms are tied up with ropes.

Jock Mahoney appeared on 3 shows with Ely, and played Tarzan twice, and was a villian in Tarzan the Magnificent with Gordon Scott, Ely also fought with Denny Miller in Ely's 1980's Sea Hunt series, other Tarzan vsTarzans -Weissmuller vs Buster Crabbe in a Jungle Jim film, and Swamp Fire, Intersting point Ely was to play a Tarzan imposter in the show starring Mike Henry, then Henry left and Ely got the role.

@Kohntarkosz That episode where Tarzan fights the villain in a spectacular underwater scuba fight scene was from "The Pearls of Tanga",which was in Season One of the Tarzan series(the 1966-1967 season). That episode is one of my favorites too,and its the episode where Tarzan fights a killer shark,and then ends up being trapped at the bottom of the sea by a huge giant calm!

If you look closely at the beginning of the clip, Jock Mahoney (the bad guy) was aboard a river ship tying up crates with rope. Tarzan snuck behing him from the water grabbing the rope, and pulling it to fight him.

this is amazing 2 actors who played tarzan are fighting underwater! I like this but why wasn't Mahoney not wearing shoes or a shirt? still a great installment.
