Hmm... I'm afraid I don't really get the part where it says there's no such thing as an external enemy. I suppose the problem is semantics, or rather, how we define enemy.

If an enemy is someone that is a threat to your survival than there is such a thing as an external enemy, right? I mean, if you've wronged someone and his intent is to get you, be it steal your car, kill your wife or be any kind of threat to you and your survival he is an external enemy, right?

Can someone elaborate?

This line "there is no real external enemy" comes from the line of thought that we are creators of our own realities, be it good or bad.. whatever happens in our life.. is creator through are conscious and mostly unconscious mechanics. the more unconscious we our of our own power and abilities, the less control we have on creating our life/ reality. spiritual leaders, psychiatrists and sages from all ages have elaborated on how.. there is a power way deeper than our mind in us

While I do agree to some extent, wouldn't it be safe to say that there is something that really is what it is, regardless of your perception of it?

I'd imagine that stuff like 1 + 1 = 2 and something along those lines would have to be out of the boundaries of human interpretation. Or am I missing the point?

I have trouble with you personifying the ego in this movie. Surely you're undermining your own message by making it an exterior character with motivations of its own? You've just moved the fictional devil from outside your head to inside.

Observing the ego is the easy part. Releasing it or disentangling from it is tricky because the ego will be the one doing the releasing or disentangling. All it knows how to do is to be YOU. Each time you take a step on your own as your true self the ego will slip in and play you taking the step and you won't see it. The ego is as so familiar. Even as you meditate and reach a mental clarity the ego will own that and think it is doing the meditating and achieving the clarity.

Fantastic, very well done! brilliant!  One really sees the effects of the ego everywhere, in aware observation its cruelty is amazingly harsh, it goes to any length to stay in control until it looses it ability to do so, it then succumbs to the love of the creator. When its caught by the other occupant of its particular body (the higher-self) and awareness of what has been going on is know the game is then at last over for the ego. The the real life begins!

Ego is often depicted in cartoons as a devil "ego" on one shoulder, you "self" in middle and an angel "higher self" on the other shoulder. When you picture ego like this, whispering in your ear it becomes easier, recognising that the ego's job is to protect you it plays back old fears ie fear of being broke, this keeps you locked into a vibration of fear of not having enough money. You cant kill ego its part of you, but you can choose not to listen its your oldest friend treat it with respect
