  • What the actual fuck.

  • maaaan , we need game engines like these !! mass effect series + this = the most epic game ever !! and i say EVER !!!

  • This + Minecraft = PROFIT

  • There needs to be a U.N. of game developers that bring groups of game companies together once every 5 years to mix their most innovative game engines, like this plus mass effect plus etc...

  • if only Bioware used this game engine on SWTOR =(

    AAaaaah Space pvp combat !!!...

  • @DeaMon134

    - bah! iss sstarr varrss! fontassy, not ssci-fi! iss not made forr rrealissm...

  • Massive world/terrain but it needs game-play!!!, if there is any engine power left for that! Obviously their thinking way ahead. One day with thousands online!!

  • @kevsview1

    - one day with thousa*CRASH!* ... whoops.

  • FUCKING TERRAGEN.

  • I'm throwing money at the screen, but absolutely nothing is happening!

  • Now this is innovation! Anyone agree?

  • @runemaster96

    - no...

    ...wait...

    I mean, yes!

  • What about a 2012 update?

  • This game has the most potential of anything i have ever seen.

  • DirectX or OpenGL?

  • Shut up and take my money

  • i would be willing to pay 30$ for the game as is and just fly around and look at stuff lol

  • I was saying "I. Want. This. Game" in the time to the music whilst watching this...

  • This game is developed by ONE MAN and a hord of fans who helps him! This game is called infinite universe, because it will make the Game World INFINITE, it will consist of just the milky way but ALL OF ITS STARS!!! That means, you would need several hundreds of years to travel from one end to the other and you will meet other players rarely and the trade, mining and corporation system will be similar to EVE! This is the wet dream of every explorer!

  • This is the reason why i want to make games!

  • EVOCHRONE MERCENARY TO THE MAX!!!!! XD

  • Comment removed

  • For a full game product i think that we need a quantum computer for this to run :D

  • @l0oky1 lol exactly my thoughts

  • I can't imagine how immense a game would be if it was this, combined with Minecraft and an array of other species who are randomly placed either few and far between, or numerous, for you to stumble upon.... so you land, set upcamp, scour the landscape for resources, climb back in your ship and either sell or use the materials to upgrade your ship; being able to freely explore the generated worlds and finding hostile or peaceful creatures, like a realistic Spore.

Please, be the future for games!

  • @ChainsawGutsFuck You mean exactly like how that mmo Shores of Hazeron is right now?

  • @Naibasaki Oh my... Spore + Shores of Hazeron + Robinson's Requiem + Minecraft + Infinity graphics and gameplay = goodbye reality

  • I would just like to say, that this game raises so many hopes for me. Hopes that perhaps one day, our world will not be the only one we can explore. There are many wonders of our world, and to see the procedurally generated terrain like this... it just inspires me. Thank you for providing me with this experience. To think that this game has so little features compared to what the final product will be? Id buy the game like this!

  • @Ranger10700 If this video shows anything, it's that our ability to render the universe far outstrips our ability to reach it. Once people are able to visit "planets" on their computers, any interest in visiting them on spaceships will die out. I hate to be a buzzkill, but we can at least take comfort in the knowledge that the space simulators of the future will be epic.

  • @danielmj2012

    - take comfort in that the technology needed to get to another planet on an average salary is beyond your lifespan :P so spacesims are all yer gettin'!

  • @Ranger10700

    - the wonder is there, the tech unfortunately is not... we ain't goin' anywhere fast until we can fold space... even with plasma engines that'll just be our solar system in a few years.

  • @MasterHypnose I completely agree to an extent. My point is, I don't care if it takes thousands of years (which estimates show it should only take a 400 - 800yrs. As long as humanity can behold the wonders of this infinite universe that we know so little about.

  • @Ranger10700

    - yeah... might need to stop religions from destroying science class first :(

  • @MasterHypnose thats what I was going to say.

  • @bloodanddirt

    - lol

  • Mass Effect needed this.

  • Amazing! Waited for game like this for several years.

  • Make this a game asap!

  • TAKE MAH MONEY!

  • Combine that with Orbiter 2010 physics and we've got a winner

  • Should also add gravity into effect to some extent, orbital combat would be awsome

  • I would like to see trees on the ground, landing spots, starports if you would

  • Wow...just impressive. Seems like this engine has a LOT of potential.

  • ....I have an idea, just release this demo for us to drool over and experience for ourselves ;)

  • @lordnipple I guess they don't want their engine stolen or something...

  • I can smoke a J and play this game for hours me thinks

  • 4:36 "Luke? You turned off your targetting computer?!"

  • Cool , now i need to find Kvokki's Comment

  • This music... I feel alone... It's so good this music reminds my past..

  • @MrCaioable You feel it too? feels like beauty, feels like infinity. But what good are the wonders of the universe when you're alone and you have no one to share it with, yeah?

  • @TimothyParadox1 Yeah dude! Finally someone that understands.. that can describes the music

  • OMG OMG I WANTTHIS!! FUCK GRAPHICS I JUST WANT TO DO THIS IN GAME!!!

  • Hello nasa computer

  • When is this coming out? I am dying to play it.

  • @Idlegamer

    There's no release date yet.

  • Anyone wanted Spore to be a bit like this ?

  • @DoggySpew Indeed. Spore concept is good but the tiny world scale just destroys all point in playing the game. Spore concept with that game scale would propably be one of the best game ever considering liberty of action and gameplay diversity. But I guess with such a scale, no PC in the world could run what's going on a single planet. (thousands to millions of creatures and environments)

  • @drakenlorde

Doesn't have to. What Spore did correctly was the procedural content recreation. However, the style, the gameplay and scale was wrong.

  • @DoggySpew

    - anyone wanted spore to be anything other than Spore? :P blame EA...

  • This game just begs for a TrackIR! Also you´d nee a stick for it and please please make that pit clickable, it would ad alot to immersion to have those things integragted into the ship, for the more advanced menus you could use a holoprojector. Plus a clickable pit would lower the interface barrier. Integration of multiple Controllers would be good too, like HOTAS, Rudders, TrackIR and Mouse working together withtout a problem. Not like in BF3 were having those on makes problems.

  • amezing!

  • mmo ?

  • Still Waiting. These guys need to get to work or sell this engine!

  • The music is so annoying!! Visuals are sick though :)

  • @guitarguy123212

    - you really need to learn to relax, the music isn't annoying... you just don't know how to relax. If you relax while listening to it, it will change from annoying, to calming...

  • I've had a perpetual nerdgasm ever since I first read about this game's development. Of all the games I've anticipated, this one takes the motherfuckin' cake.

  • ok.. am i the only one who came to this vid to play the snake game.. press your up and left arrow keys simotaniously while on video and snake will appear.. it can be controlled by arrow keys.. eat the dots

  • Very nice! What is the music? I love it. Looking forward to this game.

  • Lol at all you bashing my comment. I was being sarcastic on how good the game is. Silly!

  • really nice game but it took to long time for developing, so i doubt it will be never released.

  • So what kind of game is this gonna be exactly? A space sim shooter or a something like a resources based exploration game? Regardless this is one of my most anticipated games EVER

  • @Thermalburn sandbox game....anything you want...there is gonna be some 50 trillion stars that we explore and collect its resources. There are gonna be hubs of players to trade with..So I imagine an interesting government system on each planet....pretty much an mmo...and sandbox is a game where I can say take a shovel, dig big hole, there forever other player see it..

  • @SolarNewBlue Sounds EPIC! I hope there isnt a monthly fee :(

  • @SolarNewBlue not 50 trillion, just 200 billion according to faq. In fact I'd even be satisfied with a mere million which would make it 200x larger than eve online.

  • I want this game! Great work I hope you guys will bring it out! :3

  • I would call this next generation gaming..

  • I have to protest the realism of that atmospheric entry.

  • Google need to buy this tech and put it into Google Earth.

To really, REALLY show people how large the world really is....

  • WANT NOW. NOWWWW

  • Actually can't describe the feeling i get from this video. It gives me the same feeling I had when I was a kid and I bought a new RPG game. Everytime i bought a new game when Iw as small I felt like this, like somehow the game would be massive and the adventures infinite.

It will be infinite. It will be infinity.

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

  • Nerdgasm

  • What Mass Effect should of had.

  • @oaktownacid

    EXACTLY YES

  • EPIIIIC! Do you have a "donate" thing?

  • general grievous is gonna be pissed you took his ship

  • Truly amazing. Beautiful.

  • @Kvokki What's your point? How is it fake. It says is a game. Your post really confuses me.

  • @MrProfessorDonut Engine

  • @Kvokki Ok? So what? Are we playing games cause theyre realistic now?

  • @Sw3denGamer I do - to me that's, a definitely a preference - more realism - even in a fantasy setting you need realism for better immersion ...

Better graphic are certainly a plus in that regard, but the more important aspect is definitely the physics ...

And having procedurally generated surroundings is also a plus for me - have a few made maps with enhanced detail for key spots but generate everything else and you have very high replayability

  • @symelian I totally agree with you, realism is good for some game mechanisms, but for game concepts Its usually better to have an unrealistic concept. Games based on unrealistic concepts do better in taking you away from your every-day life, giving you an experience thats so much more rich emotionally.

  • @Sw3denGamer I agree - I'm just saying i like the detail the amount of thought that goes into it - and complex models that are required for it - when i say "realistic" i mean a complex simulation rather than a simple one - it doesn't have to centered around our reality, i.e. the natural world -- it can be utter fiction but painstakingly simulated with great attention to detail -- I like to see masters at works and go wow, how did they do that, look at what ppl can achieve ... that's just me

  • @Sw3denGamer I´d have to contest that point. Did you ever play a round of Arma 2 ? much Less Falcon 4 BMS 4? Those really take you away from your everyday life and give you some emotional experiences that you don´t get in casual games. There was once that situation were I was in an tank fighting against T-55s and I took out the first but missed the second, and it was slowly turning it´s gun on me, I thought "Oh Fuck, I´m done for!" and just before he shot a friend took it out with a TOW. Phew!

  • @LupusAries Thats exactly what i said, the comment is 2months old I dont think you got the whole situation.

  • @Sw3denGamer seems like it! Then I´m sorry for misinterpreting you and I´m happy to see another one that thinks like me.

  • @Sw3denGamer we play because it pleases some part of us. Simple.

  • @Sw3denGamer apparntly so.....

  • @Sw3denGamer yup

  • @Sw3denGamer Well dude, some dooo, they have this strange hobby called sims. But then we are not always hardcore simmers even we like some games with more relaxed settings. But then if a world has depth there needs to be an explanation, might even be the shields taking care of the heat. It´s for something called immersion. I mean MWLL is realistic in Battletech terms, which is like 95% fiction but it´s detailed and everything is explainable, since there is depth.

  • @LupusAries

    - Orbiter...

  • @MasterHypnose I know orbiter and I like it, but I also like the the space-sims that are not that totally realistic. But as I said I need them to a continuity, it's good for immersion if they have an explanation for the things that happen however fictious that explanation is. So there is no logical hole in the universe.

  • @Kvokki What?

  • too bad it will take another 20 years to finish at this rate.

  • Damn this is going to be boring.

Seriously, lifesize planets with lifesize systems and realistic distances? You could play for days and never see another human.

If only every single person in the world played this...

  • @PINGASFIST I for one, would fly for hours just enjoying the scenery.

  • @PINGASFIST there will be a bunch of npcs actually

  • Does this have like real physics in it??

Will i be able to orbit? Escape velocity?

  • people post some retarded shit in here... but nevertheless..

I will give my right nut... my first born... and an absurd monthly fee to play this fucking game if it ever comes out.

the holy grail of games if it happens

  • This is something I could spend days on.

  • I will pay you to take all my money for this game

  • No need for huge harddrives. As I understand it, most content will be procedurally generated.

  • Play this with music from Oblivion and you have a nerdgasm.

  • @Xho3546 Wow you were right its AMAZING

  • WoW!

  • Woah, what game is this?

  • wow...

  • @TheFlashFrame Yes, 1+ TERABYTE hard drives are the norm now (It's byte not bite. Closer to that spelling is bit which is a 1/8th of a byte.) Go build a computer on Dell, Apple, or Gateway and look at all the options you have for storage. BestBuy offers 5 internal ones right off of their webpage for 60-70 dollars. They also offer 30+ extrernal 1+ terabyte hard drives. They're extremely cheap now and have been for a fair amount of time.

  • Dont expect anything from this anytime soon, i would say it's at least 4-5years away :(

  • WOW... awsome!... Gnarly!!.. Fresh!.. but what the fuck is it about?

  • holy shit, did you guys ever think about the immense amount of space its gonna use?

100GB? 1TB? holy fucking shit man.

  • @Arekai1404 i dont think its going to use that much space because the planets generate as you approach them, its not like they are pre-rendered objects that the game has to save as data

  • @TheFlashFrame NOOOOO!!! everything must be saved. I'll buy a 100TB setup if needed to support a galaxy.

  • @Freelancerk1bbles what about 200 billion galaxies?

  • @TheFlashFrame by the time we are able to explore to that many galaxies in the game... I think our hard drives capacities will be large enough.

  • @Freelancerk1bbles and Terrabite hardrives will be the norm xD

  • @TheFlashFrame you mean theyrenot yet? /me looks at his 3TB of storage...

  • @Freelancerk1bbles No, terrabite hardrives are not the norm XD, sure they exist, but its not something that you see on every shelf at best buy

  • Whoa, I got her from a someone recommendation, I hope someobe sponsored them soon.

  • Hey guys, try en[DOT]spaceengine[DOT]org if you want to experience this! free movement in space, the WHOLE universe to explore, procedurally generated! still not finished, and you need quite a good PC to run it without lag.

  • All I can say is holy s%it!!!

  • I want to drop in ODST-style and just run around in first(or third)-person view. That is a giant fucking playground .

  • I don't think my whole lifetime (I'm 18) will suffice to complete 3/4 of this game... still, EPIC I hope!

  • @TheMacyp With more than 200 billion star systems not even the entire human population playing at once would be able to do that within a reasonable amount of time...

  • @87SPECTRUM Hell, dunno how they'll make it good but as long as the client side looks that good I'm on o_O

Even playing alone is fine with such a universe

  • Best game ever !

  • Plain awesome.Seems like my dream may come true some day

  • This game looks amazing. But the music pisses me off.

  • Imagine if you could get out of the ship.

  • this is the future of game design aka TRUE unlimited freedom to create anything.

  • A few years back, we said this won't be possible.............. guess they are doing the impossible

  • That's pretty amazing.

  • One more thing MAKE THIS GAME A MAC COMPATIBLE GAME GOD DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! k thanks.

  • Cool, seems like Outerra engine but sucky)))

  • This is phenomenal, What a major game company should invest time and money into...though then they'd probably make it shit.

  • There is so much potential for this game. If they're able to implement a 3rd or 1st person on foot aspect as well with towns and cities, this could truly be the perfect game. Elite/GTA IV

  • Do a Minecraft and release it for a nominal fee, continue working on the project, ???, Profit!

  • @julietmikealpha Do you mean a Beta? or just release a half-done game? not trolling just wondering.

  • Well pretty impressive but it would be nice if you could land in planets and like exploring them on foot or even have some "cities" where you can land and fix your spaceship or buy stuff. That would be so nice!!But still even like that would be beutiful Keep up your work developers you have our support!!!!

  • details great for graphics but possibly need to tweek the procedural generations so levels flow far smoother and lines arnt seen at every corner as well as adding life like trees and snow and rain at certain points within the map that affect others try reserching diferent things like even afterburn for fire effects. what engine did u use to alow for such a large world

  • I don't care what anyone says, this is fucking beautiful and I cried a tear for it.

    Beautiful.

  • Truly beyond amazing.

  • Oh. My. Fuck.

  • pre-alpha? pathetic, don't think that i can't se what's going on here. they are too chicken shit to release this game to me because it doesn't work or something embarrassing. this game will NEVER be released :)

  • @nunobits12 Look at the release date of hte video. Seriously, YOU try and make an online game with hundreds of beautiful worlds and seamless transition from space to said worlds. Yeah, it'd take a while.

  • @shastantex well it might take a while but you know, maybe they should make a bigger team work on it!

  • @nunobits12 ...maybe it's called a lack of funds?

  • it looks ready to me they should just release it now

  • @nunobits12 This is just a small portion of what they want to be a huge world. Saying that is like saying that because of the pretty Halo 4 trailer it is ready to be launched.

  • holy fuck we need games like this

  • Solar orgasm

  • This is BEAUTIFUL!

    So lifelike...

  • Someone needs to win the lottery and fund this ASAP !!!

  • This game is as potentional as our universe. So even after 10 years working 100 people on it - you can add something.
