  • This is NOT the original version of the song from the album but a later remake. This version sucks !!!

  • The bridge ("woowoowoo...") is irresistible...

  • timeless masterpiece

  • this song was wrote in scottland at the mccartney farm where he drank allnight long, and stayed in bed till late afternoon day after day as the beatles fell apart back in london. linda said she was certin she had married an alcoholic.paul himself has said many times he had no greater ambition at this point then to just sink down into oblivion. the song is ironic...very pretty melody but the lyrics tell of a very dark state of mind.

  • home-made masterpiece !

  • He just blows my mind....

How the hell can he write all this fantastic music??!!!

  • The greatest version this song is by The Drifters with the lead vocal by Johnny Moore.

If you doubt this statement, just call it up on YouTube.

It was recorded by The Drifters in 1972 and released in England on Bell Records 45rpm #1269. C'mon, just give it a listen with an open mind and ear.

  • o dislikes is how it should be

  • At "resting my mind" the song goes into a different, slightly psychedelic acoustic space. Is this a drug reference, and if so am I the fist to have noticed it (seems unlikely)?

  • @humperdinkysaurus you're not the first to notice. I heard it the first time i listened to this piece. I don't think it was a drug reference, but who knows. It's just slightly echoed. might've been accidental in the studio.?

  • This is without a doubt, the best remake on youtube... nice photos.

  • again with this album...lol....its such a classic now, i guess when u first hear it new it tends to just be there but i finally saw him play this song ...2002 tour never gunna forget it!

  • And be with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • his first 2 solo albums are simply the continuation of the beatles ....

  • I love Paul in the orange overalls! <3<3

  • Prefer P Snows RIp

  • Such a G.R.E.A.T song!!!!!!

  • I luv this song so much. The arrangement and the way the instruments and vocal SOUND is so terrific. I wonder what bass Paul used on this recording? I wonder if he used the Rickenbacker on the McCartney album?

  • @meadowqueen I think he mainly used his Höfner 500/1 bass - but I'm not sure. But I totally forgot about the Rickenbacker so you may be right =)

  • @kinskifreak

Dude, he is infamous for the rickenbacker.

  • I would rate this as one of Paul's better post Beatles tunes. "Maybe I'm Amazed" tops the list for me with "Here Today" a close second. I am sure Paul wrote this song with Linda in mind and it shows. "Amazed" was written for Linda and "Here Today" about John. Two people he loved and they are such great songs because of that love and affection.

  • Something about this song makes me want to smile and hug someone. It's so incredibly sweet and earnest.

  • Great song!....even on his own sounds like the whole Beatles are there.

Paul and Linda made such a nice couple.

  • Paul McCartney sure knows how to tap on a woman's heart

  • yikes, my hand slipped, i clicked dislike by accident, then clicked like. sorry and thanks for the post.

  • I dedicate to all those people in love, Enjoy every moment together.

  • could you imagine being married to PAUL MCCARTNEY?! Linda was sooo lucky, and he was so devastated when he lost her.

  • I love him so much. Cute pictures!

  • Thanks for all the fun and the tunes I whistle everyday Paul!

I hope he knows how much joy he has given us?

    Gary

  • Cherries was unappreciated at the time it came out, because no one wanted to believe that the Fabs were really breaking up. It was considered too stripped down for a "Beatle" to release. I love it. So great.

  • Wow. I am magically 14 again.

  • Nobody does a better 'Ooh' than Paul.

  • I completetly concord with you, 1FineYoungCannibal

    :D

  • yup.

  • paul mccartney has a knack of writing songs full stop (period for our friends across the water)

  • Paul has a good knack of writing songs that you think sound realy familiar, even though you'v heard it for the first time.

  • @1FineYoungCannibal yup most all of the beatles songs are like that

  • @1FineYoungCannibal That's because he's so original, and you're like "That's so original, are you sure I haven't heard that before?"
