  • where did you get the rubber mat from?

  • I've heard through the grapevine the USFS/NPS have to put boulders in certain locations along the firehole and yellowstone in the park to cover up some exposed quartz stringers with glints of color. wouldn't surprise me in the least since it's called America's National treasure, who wouldn't love to get a pan or dedrge in the water up on the NE entrance road.

  • Thanks for the reply. I cant wait for this ice to melt so I can go out and give it a shot.

  • How far up the yellowstone from Billings did you have to go to find gold? I would love to go pan but assumed I had to go way up in the mountains...

  • I got this dirt in Columbus, but anywhere from Billings on up you should be able to pan this small stuff.

  • so with the height if the matt does it plug up fast with black sands, and make you clean up sooner then you want?

  • As long as it is classified down to just sand and run it at the right water speed, it does not plug up at all. Again, this is mainly a "clean up" sluice box or for very small flour flood gold.

  • so how long does it take to run a bucket?

  • About 15-20min
