haha sounds like a squeak toy. i got my pit as a rescue so i didnt ever hear his puppy bark, but even from the day we taught him to 'speak' until today, his bark has gotten so much deeper. im sure you can appreciate that with him all grown up now.

Aw. My baby Pitbull first barked two weeks ago, when he turned 5 weeks old. I was playing with him and I froze. He lost his patience and started growling for me to move or do something, and he barked. <3

Im a shelter volunteer and I exercise and socialize pits regularly. Never had a problem with any of them. We just had a male, his two sisters and another in separate kennels and he was so much fun. I loathe dogfighters and anyone who attends, fights, bets on or facilitates a dogfight should automatically receive 5 yrs prison time, no appeals allowed!

Hello, i am getting a 8 week old pitbull in a few days our dachsund got run over so we are getting a new dog to try to patch things up a lil. But i am wondering do they bite? Like i see most comments saying the owner is the cause but are they protective because i really want a protective dog, but i dont want a dog that will randomley go up and bite someone, what should i do? Is the pit or boxer best? Its between those 2.

@DaddysPrincess148 any dog can bite if provoked no matter what breed or age they are. as long as you train the dog to listen to you and properly socialize the dog with people and animals you don't have to worry about the dog biting just because. pits are the nanny dogs of nanny dogs, i got my pit when she was 2 yrs old (she was dumped with her 12 week old pup) and i still have her.

@DaddysPrincess148 They just did a survey in the UK of the most aggressive breeds of dogs. Guess what? That little Dachshund of yours was ranked number one most aggressive. Chihuahua's and Pekingese right behind them. The Pit Bull ranked LOW!

All dogs have the ability to bite, it's the way their raised and what's in their ancestry. Fighting bullies are raised by horrible people. Regular bullies, raised by regular, loving families just aren't like that.

@DaddysPrincess148 The american pitbull terrier is naturally human friendly so if properly socialized you cannot find a more people friendly dog. They are a very protective dog of their people and have an uncanny ability to recognize dangerous situations. I would say boxers are more protective of their property, both would scare away any intruder. I would say either would probably suit you well just make sure you socialize as much as possible. If you do you cant go wrong.

@stormbreaker91746 Exercise, disapline and affection are the three essential to a balanced dog, in that order. If your not going to live up to your end of the bargain dont adopt a dog of any breed let alone a high energy breed like the apbt.

@surleyguru true, shes four now and now we have our regular walks and runs together. i let her make the route for our walks and for some reason, she always chooses the downhill then really long uphill route home lol. she really uses her brain

@surleyguru i do occasionally but she and I have a huge bond that we can understand each other. shes never been the dominating type and always knows im her leader. her brother was a different story lol but hes already learned to let us lead him and has stopped trying to pull the leash altogether. these two were our first apbt's ever owned and we've learned a lot on how to take care of and manage them
