We used to take them to Weymouth for water trials each year. But they only went out on the water on the end of a tow rope, just in case. Biggest problem was the transmission wind up because they were driven empty. When full they were fine.

I used to do this with DUKWs. The reason for doing it is to examine the possibilities of these vehicles as we did in the forces. Every vehicle has limits you just have to find them. When the shit starts to fly you have confidence in your equipment as you know what it can do. Then the Walts can sit nice and safe behind their keyboards being really brave.

That is the wrong way to enter a stally into the water,it is a bad way to show the vehicle,she used to be and still is a good vehicle if in the proper hands,leave it to the professionals,as it did not seem to have bat flaps on the exhaust sytem which could have prevented an ingress of water ,on that stunt.
