I remember listening to Rush on my lunch break that day, and I just about spit out my water when this poem was read. I have an English Lit degree-- this is not a poem. It's a list of mundane observations that has no point. And Rush is hilarious!

And, FYI, you're not the only one who understood the underlying meaning of the poem. Millions of others did, too. The point most people are trying to make, though, is that the delivery of the message was abysmal.

anyway, her poem ghostwriter is probably jesse jackson. you just put words together and call it something special. kind of like the prayer ben stiller recited before dinner in 'meet the parents'

Anyone who knows the first thing about poetry knows a poem doesn't have to rhyme to be considered a poem. But this particular poem was terrible despite being in free verse
