Your liver only gets damaged from DXM consumption if you're using cough syrup. There are safe ways to extract DXM from the syrup and then you will be left with no side effects.
You have to remember, this is a FDA-approved, over-the-counter drug here. If there were any long-term side effects, this would not be administered over-the-counter as a cough suppressant.
I do agree with you that the majority of consumers are most likely teenagers who just chug the syrup... Sick.

Very true, but an excessive amount--especially over long periods of time--is *VERY* likely to have some side-effects, as with any drug. I had a friend who was addicted (mentally, not physically) to DXM, and he extracted it just as I did. It consumed his life for about six months, and it took him over a year-and-a-half to recover from a deep, deep depression filled with suicidal thoughts and *LOT* of anxiety. He couldn't even leave his house.
Oh, and some other great psychedelics that you've likely heard of but that are much safer than the media portrays are psylocybin mushrooms, salvia divinorum, LSD (acid), ayahuasca, peyote, mescaline, and my personal favorite, the most intense, and quite possibly the safest of all psychedelics, Dimethyltryptamine (DMT).
Of course, these are all illegal and hard to get your hands on, but *ALL* of these are safer and more enlightening than alcohol.
Yeah, ayahuasca is a drink made from the ayahuasca vine, which contains DMT, and it's almost always mixed with a whole bunch of other (normally inactive) herbal ingredients.
Personally, I'd just Google: "Bouncing Bear Botanicals" and find what they call, "Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark." Go for the inner root bark, as it contains the most DMT.
You can find safe, simple extraction instructions on Erowid (Google it--great site), and just smoke the pure DMT crystals.
This is all hypothetically assuming that drugs are legal, of course, which they're not. So *DON'T* do this!!! ;)
Forgot to add: Your liver gets damaged mostly from the inactive ingredients in the syrup (especially all of those sugars!), and not the DXM.
Personally, I used to enjoy the high, and it wasn't addicting at all. It is a fairly safe high, but anything that is abused can lead to problems. Moderation is the key to everything in life.
Also, I know that heroin isn't all that harmful, necessarily, but it can manifest your life and lead to overdose pretty easily. Be safe.

Yeah I used to self medicate & the only conclusion I can come up with is I'm hurting my family & friends. I've losses various jobs because it..I'm still addicted & feel brain dead at times. you can't just say "lsd is stronger", stronger than what? you can't compare the strength of different psychedelics, hallucinogens and euphoriants, the usual dose for LSD is in micrograms while DXM doses
are in the range of 0.5 to a few grams.

sure hes completely off his rocker but he's obviously a new dxm tripper. if you are smart and prepare yourself for the trip the right way you will be ok. Ive tripped on dxm for the past 3 years and have probably tripped at least 300 times. probably more. I can take 1200mgs and i dont experience hallucinations. i get a rush that lasts about 5 to 8 hours.

Your liver only gets damaged from DXM consumption if you're using cough syrup. There are safe ways to extract DXM from the syrup and then you will be left with no side effects.
You have to remember, this is a FDA-approved, over-the-counter drug here. If there were any long-term side effects, this would not be administered over-the-counter as a cough suppressant.
I do agree with you that the majority of consumers are most likely teenagers who just chug the syrup... Sick.

Very true, but an excessive amount--especially over long periods of time--is *VERY* likely to have some side-effects, as with any drug. I had a friend who was addicted (mentally, not physically) to DXM, and he extracted it just as I did. It consumed his life for about six months, and it took him over a year-and-a-half to recover from a deep, deep depression filled with suicidal thoughts and *LOT* of anxiety. He couldn't even leave his house.
Once again, moderation is key. Be safe.

Oh, and some other great psychedelics that you've likely heard of but that are much safer than the media portrays are psylocybin mushrooms, salvia divinorum, LSD (acid), ayahuasca, peyote, mescaline, and my personal favorite, the most intense, and quite possibly the safest of all psychedelics, Dimethyltryptamine (DMT).
Of course, these are all illegal and hard to get your hands on, but *ALL* of these are safer and more enlightening than alcohol.

Personally, I'd just Google: "Bouncing Bear Botanicals" and find what they call, "Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark." Go for the inner root bark, as it contains the most DMT.
You can find safe, simple extraction instructions on Erowid (Google it--great site), and just smoke the pure DMT crystals.
This is all hypothetically assuming that drugs are legal, of course, which they're not. So *DON'T* do this!!! ;)

Forgot to add: Your liver gets damaged mostly from the inactive ingredients in the syrup (especially all of those sugars!), and not the DXM.
Personally, I used to enjoy the high, and it wasn't addicting at all. It is a fairly safe high, but anything that is abused can lead to problems. Moderation is the key to everything in life.
Also, I know that heroin isn't all that harmful, necessarily, but it can manifest your life and lead to overdose pretty easily. Be safe.

Yeah I used to self medicate & the only conclusion I can come up with is I'm hurting my family & friends. I've losses various jobs because it..I'm still addicted & feel brain dead at times. I can't sleep on it. I sleep all day if I take a high dosage. The tv interacts with me when I'm on it or so I think & it's sort of like saliva in some ways although it is kind of scary at times. People who just start DXM dont see/notice it, but the drug will slowly tweak and alter who you are. Eventually the user will realize the drug is changing them but by that point its to late. After that you will begin to fight it when you feel it controlling you and all it does is make you feel insane. DXM has pulled me in and out of phycosis for 4 years. FUCK DXM

My friend is coming back from college this week and wants me to try this with him. We both had terrible experiences with weed, but he says this is way better. there is no question about neither DXM or LSD being drugs, they are. everyone knows.
you can't just say "lsd is stronger", stronger than what? you can't compare the strength of different psychedelics, hallucinogens and euphoriants, the usual dose for LSD is in micrograms while DXM doses
are in the range of 0.5 to a few grams.
both of these drugs are used recreationally on a huge scale, so yes, they are normal.
