Ok, soo I'd like to know what interface you use to power the monitors? Because I'm looking to buy some rokit's but I don't know what the interface should include, thanks
Both speakers work fine and are brand new. Also when I power off the FTP I hear clipping in both speakers, but when I try to play music sound is only heard in whichever speaker is plugged in the second TRS output. Please any help is greatly appreciated, and thank-you for your time to help me.
I have recently purchased a FTP and a pair of KRK rokit 5". I am using XLR to TRS cable to hook up my monitors to my interface, but I have a problem. It seems like only one of the TRS outputs on the back of the FTP give me sound. Whenever I plug one monitor into the second TRS output I get sound and vise versa for the other speaker. I can only get sound out of one speaker when there both plugged up.
Man that Jack cable from the interface looks like to be stereo, you need a mono Jack to XLR ( actually, you should use the XLR output from the interface) cable to run properly. And how could we hear the quality of the speakers, while listening to the sound processed by the camere's mic, AND through our own speaker/headphone?
hi man! nice vid! a question: if i want to connect this to my turntable(im not a dj i just use it for play my old and new vinyls) but i don't have that thing (i don't know its name but says "m-audio" on it) can i control the volume direct from the krk speakers? or i need something?

@estovaono hey,its the M-audio fast track pro, its a sound card/audio interface. It basically filters the sound your hearing which is essential if your DJ'ing, but I know you don't DJ. But anyway if you have your turntables connected to a laptop/computer the only way you will hear sound is from the computers speakers, unless you buy the audio interface, it connects to the computer by USB. Get this then connect your speakers like the KRK's and you have sound. Then of course you programe it all.
@ShavarJackson It connects to the Audio Interface (the device he was adjusting the volume with), and the audio interface connects via USB to the computer.
i have an m audio fast track culd i still have a good sound using the rca because i really dont wanna buy a whole new m box because the way u have urs hooked up mine cant do that it only haves the red and white thanks
@FabiisonBeats you need an interface to pass to the computer, thats the purpose of the box. unless you find a way to get a card that has the inputs built into the computer.
@FabiisonBeats you can connect these straight to a computer using a 3.5 mm headphone socket plug (that all computers have) to rca/phono plug. and they will work fine because there powerd so they have a amplifier inside them
@ITEproductions Does the soun quality get any worse if I use the 3.5mm headphone socket plug to connect the monitors with the computer? And thank you for your answer! :)
@FabiisonBeats the sound quality will be worse than a external sound card because it will be coming from you laptop/computers internal sound card but it will not be a noticeable diffrence in sound quality and it will save you a lot of money because you wont have to buy a external sound card. you can probably get these cabled for about £1.50.
You have near the same setup I 'll have: Mac Mini and an M-Audio Fast Track Pro - and your video is what I was looking for regarding cables and hookups. Thanks!
thanks so much for making this video. i'm thinking about getting my first set of studio monitors and now I know what all I need to do it properly. Cheers.
May I ask why your run the Krk 5 on -6db? Gonna have the same set-up! KrK6 + fast track pro. I would like to know if i should run them at -6b or 0db? Thanks and great video
@TeamRob0t o ok cool but i mean krks are good tho...well to start up with....u should upgrade to like 6 or 8s....unless ur tlking about switching brands...but hey when or if u do, let me get those...just name your price :)
just got them THEY SOUND AWESOME!!!! I really like them crystal clear audio..subwoofer maybe be 5" but the bass is awesome!! Amazing monitors I recomend this to everyone!
@TeamRob0t definately more than that thats the fast track pro which is $246 (not retail price), i got my m-audio mobilepre the new versions for $179. Both good interfaces to start out with , but def. should consider upgrade from when ur budget expands
THANKS DUDE! I'm been lookin for a simple setup vid like this! All i'm been seeing is this guys with this huge mixer board....so is tha the fast track pro? :):)(BTW: 2 iphones=pro guy)
Ok so if i have only pc available, what interface do i need and exactly what cabels with it to get the best sound out of speakers, consider i might add a sub rp10 later.
Im a music producer and i'm looking to buy some studio monitors. I'm wondering, what kinda cables would i need to purchase with the monitors? I got an audio interface.
Sup, my rokits power leds seems to be different in brightness one is more bright than the other one, has anyone experienced this as well? Since is said that the led is connected to the amp can it mean that the amp with the less brighter led is about to fail or drawing less power?
@Rezin603 for recording with mics you need a preamp. most mixers have a pream on the inputs and some interfaces do. depends on what your recording and how many mics you'll be running at the same time. if your going to be doing drums i suggest getting the m audio fast track ultra 8r. it has 8 preamped inputs midi, s/pdif and lots more.
