Ive always liked black but for some odd reason I think the black on the SV looks funky and cheap. I got mine in the Charcoal. Overall, I am very happy with my SV. Its really all I need. Yes I have hit 140 on mine but only once and never again. Too scary!
Brakes could be a bit stronger, but they are pretty good powerful stock, so i'm not sure how much stronger they could be (it's my first bike so I have nothing else to compair it to) I get about 67MPG in the US, 56MPG in the UK
is the sv650 a comfortable ride. It looks to have a bit more upright seating position than most crotch rockets, does it? I want a bike that gets great fuel milage, handles well, and stops on a dime. I don't really care to try to hit 140mph, just a quick blast up to 60 from a stop sign. I'm considering either the sv650 or the fz6.
I also have an 04 SV650s... yes it is a lot more comfortble than most sport bikes.... the seat is firm so if you are concerned about comfort invest in a softer seat. Loads of fun in short bursts... and handles really well
how about stopping? I have an old suzuki gr650 now, and luckily it has farily good braking performance. between animals in the road, and people truning or pulling out in front of me, it's saved my ass a few times. How about fuel economy, I'd expect it to get somewhere around 45 or 50 mpg, is that pretty close?
Sounds good, im just the kind og person who gets concerned with sudden rattling noises and stuff. Im gonna try more Sv650's and a few other models before i choose. Thanks!
Very good video. I really like the Sv650's. Im currently looking for a replacment to my cb500. The sv650 is on the top of my list so far. The only dislike i have with the bike, is the "rattling"(how do you spell that?) at idle speed.
thats the sound of v-twin engine.they're long lasting, mid ranged beasts.they're an older technology of engine to the 'in line four' that the screaming supersport bikes use butiIts a great bike. Cheap, light, great handling and is fast enough to give you a nose bleed if you get cocky. im getting one, and think, how often are you going to leave it idly ticking over, that bike just like a broke whore with 20 kids, it just wants to be ridden
I think that might be a byproduct of a cheap camera. I made a short walk around of my old bike with a cheap video camera and the video seemed to amplify the breathing and the tickings of the engine.
And I agree with collett21, how long would you leave it to idle anyways?
@MissMan666 It's really not as apparent as it seems on recorded audio. In person they sound MUCH better. I've got a 2006 sv650s with a yoshimura pipe on it and i LOVE the way it sounds, which was one of my concerns going with a 2 cyl over a 4 cyl bike
holy shit the car just disappeared

I didn't Recognized the "rattling" sound at idle speed. This bike i hired for a few days, so i didn't notice the sound
