Are there any adapters that go the other way, ie turn a IDE cable into a female CF plug? I may want to hook an IDE up to an ipod mini, or other CF device (I am aware i will need a power supply for the IDE drive)
I'm about to do the same on a tablet pc so and was wondering how you did with that convertion. It's been a time so it's well tested isn´t it?:). My doubts are if the CF have worked well or have failed at any task annnd if it last at all because I read that those CF's has a limit of 1.000.000 r/w access or so and that's a "reason" to go on a SSD drive (wich is ...a much expensive thing:)
What? "1. Kill the paging file or swap partition, Windows can operate w/o a pagefile and every version of LINUX/UNIX can be configured to operate with a swap partition." I dont get this pont. I should kill swap partition but every version of linux can be configured to operate with a swap partition??? what?? And how do you kill swap partition?
just out of curiosity, any heat issues? I had an older HP Jornada which I used as a mediocre mp3 player, I noticed the flash cards became pretty warm/hot after an hour or two of use
it is a replacement for you hdd, there is a desktop and a laptop version. Take out your heavy, fragile HDD and install this as you master hdd. I'm ordering my at the weekend. installing a car pc to my car :)
