@KevinLarryPeterman Thank you.. I finally found The Ziggurat Discs for myself.. So awesome. This and 'Metatron One' have the same feel and their both so sicky.
god danm ive felt the same about rap for years i havent listend to the raido cuz its the same rotation of the same 40 monotness bullshit songs over and over and over agiain tell its embedded in your fuckin brain
@anyoneanyone28 Except sacha doesn't fully commit himself (in all aspects of his life) to borat/bruno/ali-g, also TATTOO what he believes through the eyes of his current state all over his body. Defiantly not the same man.
For those that don't know, when beat boy comes on he is the character Darrel, the stereotypical redneck, who he raps as also on "Brotherly Love" off of The Ziggurat.
@SATURDAYateSUNDAY Honestly I don't know where he comes from, but he's always had different "characters" that he would act & rap as. Maybe like he's said, Ninja is like his final character that he'd been looking for. Listen to the lyrics of "Total Fuck Up" from Maxnormal.TV, it pretty much tells how he thinks he should change persona b/c he isn't getting anywhere with his current one.
"I'm not skinny like this by choice, we had no money forever. Now, we're flying business class to America, and look at me, I'm eating berries and granola in Hollywood."
Interesting...
"The funniest thing has been the people on the internet angry that we were 'fake.' The only people who thought we were some kind of hoax were from the US and the EU. This is just real, it's who we are."
@stilb1986 hugh well i was only going by the way he speaks and the words he uses which made me thought he came from a if not middle class some what wealthy family
i wasnt really going by looks if i did i would have just thought they were homless rappers lol what interview did you get that from by the way ive been looking all over for some past interviews and stuff im a huge fan of walkintudorjones and die antwoord
@SATURDAYateSUNDAY Yes, the way he speaks is not some idiot from the street. Clearly you can see he has his head on straight. I listened to all his old alternative forms and see a ton of references in Die Antwoord songs now. It all like came full circle, or they just took the best from all the other projects and added giving birth to Die Antwoord. Here is where I got the interview from...

to say this guy is forever gonna be known as ninja from die antwoord these days, i prefer his older stuff way more. its interesting to see his older incarnation in this video. the videos in this docu seem interesting too, since they don't seem to be on the net or available (minus the constructus stuff) anywhere -_-
can anyone tell me which projects the music excerpts are from?
also if anyone could point me to somewhere to get the mc totally rad and dj fuck album as well as the max normal (not maxnormal.tv) album i will love you forever.
@professorpudding The string loop and first track are from the Constructus album, the rest is from Fantastic Kill (aka totally rad/dj fuck). No idea where this version of Beat Boy is from. I'd love to see the full videos
lol, you have no fucking idea what you are talking about, do you? his tattoos are indeed real. he has accumulated more tattoos as his career has progressed, so like on "wat pomp" he doen't have the "pretty wise" neck tattoo, and the forest fairy tattoo is covered with makeup because it was deemed "not street enough". learn more here: watch?v=vx1cYUb-0f4
I am aware of the schtick interview where he claims the forest fairy tattoo is "not street enough". And I do know what I'm talking about in the realm of performance art, and real vs. fake ink, as I have plenty of real ink, and can spot the difference. I highly doubt a performance artist such as Waddy would cover himself with hideous bad permanent ink to make his character "Ninja" seem even more convincing. Waddy is a chameleon, and a master of deception.
well, i think tattoos are fucking stupid, but i assure you that ninja's are real. why would he take a couple hours to painstakingly put fake tattoos on before going out everywhere. that just don't make sense. conspiracy theories ain't my bag dude...
@dfunkt Ninja is a CHARACTER. Why would a character actor like Waddy go out and get covered in bad ghetto tats? Is Ninja real? Look at the closeup of his neck on Zef Side. That shit definitely wasn't done with a gun.
well, i guess my response is, what is "real"? is waddy jones a real gangster? probably not, although he might hang out with real gangsters. he's a great rapper though, and that's real enough. what is a "real gangster" anyhow? i knew several people growing up who were pretty bad people, but their grandparents still thought of them as cute little babies. perception is a tricky thing... also, those tattoos look prison-style (razor blade and ink rubbed in with fingers), not tattoo-shop.
@dfunkt Sorry you don't like art . By art, I mean your hatred of tattoos. Seriously doubt Jones did them prison style. Hence them being fakes. I Don't doubt his mastery of rapping skills, nor do I doubt his personal knowledge of South African Hip Hop. In fact, If this were any other subject I'd be bored of debating you by now, but I'm fascinated by his art. Ninja is his best character yet.
i very much like art, but i do not see tattoos as art really...more like a cheap conformist vanity. /my_$0.02 on tattoos.
sorry, but i just don't see any evidence of him having fake tattoos. i also don't believe in ufos, ghosts, gods, or any other imaginary shit. like he alluded to in the interview, tattoos can be removed using a laser treatment, so why wouldn't he have given himself "fake" prison tattoos? when he is ready for his next incarnation he can just get em zapped. (2Bcont.)
lol, you can really get tired of a debate so easily? you lack a ninja's commitment to art! seriously though, obviously "ninja" is a consciously adopted persona, but what of it? you think dr dre is exactly like he portrays himself in his music? living life is all about choosing to adopt a persona: engineer, garbage man, gangsta rapper...we are all faking it so convincingly that it is actually real. please also note, metamorphosis is key to pop-music longevity, otherwise you go stale.
@dfunkt Just wanted to back you on bot the character aspect and Waddy's amazing talent with rhyme.
Ninja is a fictional character- when they were Constructus, Yolandi was obviously his girl, during Max Normal, they didn't really go into that at all, now Yolandi is his childhood friend, when in fact they've been married for quite some time. Waddy's like the Andy Kaufman of his genre, brilliant in everything he does. We'll surely see more characters in the future. The tats: probably appliques.
@grimcity ...also wanted to add that he went from the tech savvy MaxNormal . tv (often using multimedia as a backdrop) to now referring to the 'net as the "interwebs." It's awesome!
He dabbles in this character towards the end of "Total Fuckup" (as Max Normal) and basically becomes what he describes.
Also, if you take the statements he says at the beginning of $O$ (the same as Enter the Ninja), he basically states it... he becomes all these things. He's a method actor that can rip a mic.
final word on waddy's tattoos, which clearly ain't fake: watch?v=MS6VOENTmjE
also, are you sure yo-landi and waddy are married? my understanding was that they had a daughter together, but that it was more of a "friends with benefits" type relationship... i really don't give a fuck, cause, as i mentioned previously, i am into them for the music, not the story.
I wish Mr. Jones would do more tracks like the one that starts at 2:53... Anyone know where I can find the video or what album it's on? Sounds really dope. Die Antwoord's funny, but by the sounds of whatever song that is, Waddy has actual flow...
2010... With Die Antwoord & all coming out in USA right this second...when will this blow up as well...can't wait for the "Money Shot" of whatever Mr. Jones has been working up to over 15 years... Fucking dope~!
