I always do a pascifist run until a certain point (when encountering enemies that are either immune or difficult to know out or when attacked by batalions). Anna always complained about how pascifistic I was, and she's always the first one I kill. Sweet, sweeet irony.

@peepsbates Yeah she's meant to 'die' later on - you can blow her up on the plane with the GEP game with no probz as I recall. I've heard that if you use the AI exploit method the game still registers her as dead, but Gunther allegedly has extra dialogue [I assume this is true, I haven't tried it myself] To be honest I had more issue with the game not standing the test of time very well and I'm not talking about graphics..

sadly no... he dies later in Hong Kong by Men-in-Black agents after telling you to get out of the hotel room, you can try to stay and fight but Paul dies first. maybe if you booby trap the hallway it might slow them down, but I doubt it, It took 20 buckshot rounds to take one MIB agent out.

Try to save Paul if you can... but he's on a kill switch  so doubt he'll go far

@gavilatius I see, no offense but, 2 days ago, I killed Anna and then Paul still shows up on his Apartment, then After I've finished Paul's Mission and turned against the UNATCO I tried to save Paul.

I conserved a 7 LAMs for this Scene, and it works! To kill a MIB, all you need to do is kill them with a LAM.

So I spammed lots of LAMs there.

But here's a hint, to keep Paul alive, all you need to do is this:

"DO NOT EXIT THROUGH THE WINDOW! EXIT THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR!"

That's all.

@gavilatius Yes, once you've swept out the enemies that stormed Paul's Room, He'll come out and say that he'll ask the Smuggler to join him later on at Hong Kong.

But after that, you have to wipe out all of the UNATCO Troopers inside the Hotel.

Once cleared, go out through the Front Door and proceed on until you meet Gunther, and then Gunther will say that he got orders to take JC and Paul alive. (If you exit through the Window at the Hotel, Gunther will say that Paul's already Dead.)

@Mirdala - that confused me too - i did exactly the same thing with the Rocket Launcer and Navarre in the plane, but i killed her first time - this clip seems to show the rocket only wounded her and she turned invisble and hid - after the rocket, you can see her run into the room invisible then run out when Denton approaches .... cool ! Awesome game.

that was not her ghost. when she takes a lot of damage she will eventualy activate a cloaking vest. the first shot he made did not kill her, but only damaged her a lot so she cloaked herself

i usually stuffed that room with LAMs and explosive barrels and blew them both into pieces. that way you get creditet for killing him and get rid of that annoying navarre.

This scene is what defines Deus Ex for me.

The pure fact that you can kill Lebedev right away, or wait for her or refuse to kill him or even kill her and the game reacts to your decision.

IMO still no other game has managed to pull of something as flexible as that game.

parts which also IMO show how much "what if?" situations the developers thought of, are

the one about the one trooper at the top of the remains of the SoL and the scene in Manderley's office when you escape from the UNATCO HQ.

The best thing to do is to make Navarre retreat and cloak (just like in this video - gep round nearby) then ask Lebedev all he can tell. You can either kill him or kill navarre or kill them both or kill none.

ok look you can either kill her, which happened there, or you can keep right-clicking on Lebedev and gaining some info but after he tells you the important stuff Navarre kills him real quick... or you can just walk up to him and shoot him in the face. you would get the most skill points if you kill the bitch Navarre and then talk to Lebedev. OR!!! you can actually get all the info from him and then STOP Navarre from killing him and get 375 skill points but it's hard to do.

You can either go through with the assassination, or kill Navarre, or if you try to leave without killing him, she will do it and you will be reported as failing to complete the mission in regards to the assassination. The moral thing to do is to kill Agent Navarre, and that is what I always choose to do.
