Actually he said Oxygen and Acetylene you dipstick, and when you mix Oxygen with Acetylene and add some thermal energy you get some major combustion you muppet.
Oxy-Acetylene is used for cutting through solid steel, and thats in tiny amounts, kinda gives you some perspective.
Mogcast, you are quite correct! MahHa2888 would still be WRONG when he comments that oxygen tanks don't explode. When oxygen tanks are heated to a high enough temp and explode, the oxygen alone would feed any nearby flame. The hurricane Katrina bus deaths are just one example of oxygen tanks and flames. Acetylene only makes the reaction more volatile. FYI, the main commentary does come from a very knowledgeable source. MahHa2888 is the moron in more ways than I can illiterate here.
I think it's only fair that follow up to MahHa that oxygen tanks don't explode without an incendiary origin. I have yet to know what the "spark" was here. My best guess would be a cigarette, second a spark from the transfer of a manifold / header. I don't know. I do know that oxygen tanks with flame are dangerous.
I think this is the one two years ago we were going to go into Dallas from the hotel in arlington because Were from Houston and they closed down the freeway so we dident get to go in to
With tanks flying like rockets, I think it was a good idea to avoid the area. When we were watching cars drive by with projectile flying randomly, "safe on trinity bottom" was a relief. If one were to hit our building with a flame behind it, all of us would have been high tailing down 50 stories of stairs.
They pretty much shut down downtown Dallas. There was debris all over downtown and the wind was blowing the smoke further to the west. The explosions threw debris well outside the windstream.
About a week after we drov right next to the aftermath of the explosion. We were only about 5 feet from the fence and it was just black and grey everywhere. I could still see cans of gas, covered in black.
This video was taken across the street from the Bank of America Plaza. The window glass is very thick and we could hear the explosions clearly. I can't imagine how loud it was at El Centro.
Hey irishkayo, there were several cars that were barely missed by the debris as they were driving by. It's a miracle that a large piece of tank didn't hit them. This footage is 1.8 minutes of 30+ from that morning. The video didn't pick up the fragments that were flying 1000 feet in the air. My car was parked 1 mile away and not even downwind. It had pieces of metal all over the hood and windshield.
Two of the employees tried putting it out with a hose and had 20% to 30% of their bodies burned. Last I read, one was still in the hospital, but stable. I'm shocked that there were no deaths.

The combination of
1. Denial...hicks tend to be the last dis-believers.
2. The history of oil in the ground, in Texas.
3. The history of Texas politicians being in the pocket of the oil industry...including the Middle East.
4. The great distances Texans tend to drive.
5. The lack of clean nuclear power in the state.
6. 100% of Tx electricity being generated by coal plant...the dirtiest fuel there is.
Historically, Texans are the biggest carbon polluters, ever on the face of the planet.
