hay im trying to build a generator out of a 7.5kw 3 phase motor and i was planning on running it with a 2 cylinder wisconsin and i was wondering how i was told i would need a cap but im not sure what sort any help would be great
hi have you viewed joe cell talks type that in the guy states these can have the magnets re arranged to make something extra ..we cannot get them here in uk so if you have any how much to buy and send to uk .....if you do take time to view joe bookers videos would you reply direct to me with comments thank you
@Ebdan88 you can get them off almost any HE front or top load washer even maytag whirlpool kenmore use paykels motor, I sell appliances and take aprat the scrap
I am also researching power generation and I have a lot of that you will be interested in. you can get a lot more power from that system... link me up...
if you're spinning the smartdrive motors over at say 1000rpm wich is what they do on thier spin cycle, what voltage and possible current are output from the motor? cheers
The reason the 2 different motors have different size wire is the later models work at 600 v rather than 300 Volts in the older models. At the higher voltage the need less current hence the thinner wire. It has nothing to do with the size of the washing machine, the sme model series use the same motor regardless of size.
just a thought you perhaps have connsider how about adding additional
cooling fans or blades mounted to the pullys and another thought i kinda no how the equations work that tell you what pully configuration will be the most efficiant
the ability to vary engine speed should negate any set pulley ratios, unless a higher maximum speed is required, in which case I'll replace the motor pulley with one the same as the gen.
this is a very good info vid i was going to build a windmill out of one of these but i know see its not possible i couldnt build a 4 hp windmill i dont own a crain, lol
I will have to keep and eye out for washing machines with that motor in them so I can build a generator of my own on day.

and work this? I can't see...

Heavy windings give more current and lower voltage.

why dont you change the gear ratio?
big wheel on motor small on rotor

Excellent ! You know how to make a good job of it.
I need to get a lathe for my self one day.

I'm not 100% sure on that one I'm afraid, if I get a digital tacho one day I'll be able to see what voltages are generated at set speeds
I have seen voltages in excess of 1200V when spinning them with a gas engine.

Great info!, thanks!
I'll have to find out the difference in volatage and current potential between the 2 running as generators.

the windmill looks like a good idea using one drive, not sure about mounting 2 though, the blades would have to be attached to one of the flywheels.
would be good to have it running into a regulated charging unit, then into a bank of battery's, like 24V or 48V, to power your OxyHydro.

do you no what pully ratio you will be using?

The motor pully is 4" and the gen is 5.5" or so
the ability to vary engine speed should negate any set pulley ratios, unless a higher maximum speed is required, in which case I'll replace the motor pulley with one the same as the gen.
