this phone is very good. i have one problem when im talking on the phone, i cant hang up or anything the screen just goes black and i have to like wait till the other person hangs up. how do i hang up???????? i feel dumb asking that.

I'm getting mine tomorrow... I've had the iphone but AT&T service is terrible!! I can't get service at my house or work so I've had to let it go... been very sad about it but they aren't doing anything to fix the problem... Sure hope I enjoy this phone as much!

Eris V Hero? They are basically the same device, except that the Eris has a slightly more comfortable body, and some would say that Verizon has the superior network (in general). Sprint has much cheaper plans though, so its a trade-off I guess. Eris is usually considered the superior device, but they are both so similar that you would be happy with either.

Sprint's current "base" plan is $70/m for 450min and unltd data+txts. The same plan from Verizon and ATT costs $90/m. For family plans, Sprint's are cheaper to start, and do cost $20/extra line (verses VZ's $10/line), but the unltd data is shared between all the lines on the plan. Verizon/ATT makes you pay an extra $30/line for data.

If you are shopping for phones like the Eris, than Sprint is cheaper in every single possible way. Maybe you just haven't shopped around lately...

Basically the exact same under the hood (camera, processor for browser, all that good stuff) but people have said the eris has just a tiny bit better touchscreen. Oh and, call quality is better because, frankly, Verizon owns sprint.

I dont like the droid, its to big and bulky, i tried it out at the store and its not that comfortable to text with, both virtual and regular keyboards arent that good on it, I like the eris alot though and I plan to get it! I have an Ipod touch so im used to touch screens!

The Sense UI is developed by HTC and for their phones only. It might be possible to hack your Moto Droid and install the sense UI but you'll have to look online to see if that's even possible. That kind of a hack is something a novice shouldn't do unless you want to brick your phone.

If by "this guy" you mean the guy in the video well i hate to tell you this but the phone in the video is not a Moto Droid its an HTC Eris.

yeah that's just the standard Android OS. Moto just loaded that on the Droid and didn't make any adjustments to the OS.

HTC has the standard android OS plus HTC integrated their Sense UI to differentiate themselves from everyone else. Other examples of this are Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and Samsung Behold 2. Both of those use android OS but its modified.

Okay good for you. I got one last week and it SUCKED. Any slip of the finger and I was inadvertently typing nonsense. There were neat little animations but overall the phone sucked. I returned it to Verizon 4 days later because the battery life was terrible and it kept randomly texting and calling ppl from my purse when it was supposed to be on lock. I got the storm 2 and I like it alot better.

Depending on what you would be using the phone for, I would choose the Eris. If you mainly just text, call and do light browsing, go with the Eris. Plus Verizon is now offering a buy one, get one free offer.

I think that the Eris would be a great choice. The Droid is better for heavy users, and the Eris seems better for a guy like you. The average user.
