I love Jerry Stiller for his talent...he was great as Frank Costanza and is even better as Arthur...but you also have to admire him. He's been married to the same woman for almost 60 years...how many show biz people can say that?
@joshsau22 I disagree, I usually just skip scenes with him, and skip entire episodes if his mother's in them too. I'm sure there are other awkward characters in other tv-series that I enjoy, can't think of any right now, however. But they have failed in Spence and his mother, it's just not entertaining to me
I actually do agree, I mean, all the expensive cloth and for example manicure and hair appointments aren't that necessary. You can of course own a couple of expensive things, but your closet mustn't contain expensive clothes only.

I mean, in the first episodes it was a completely different woman, and now it's the lady that he met there at the senior center, who actually was supposed to be the mother of the lady that works in that coffee shop where Arthur hangs out. That's pretty weird.
