  • The only thing greater than will power...is RAW POWER!

  • Warning: this song may turn your house into rubble.

  • bought this on a cassette in a supermarket for about 2 dollars 20 years ago. the cassette smelled really weird like chemical stuff, petrol maybe. I played it over and over again, it' so f***ing great

  • i hope my life ends with this song running extremely loud

  • I would fuck him!!- I know you would reggie-ray!

  • RAW POWER HAS POWER TO DESTROY MANKIND

  • Bitchin'!!!!

  • love it

  • @ExilLarkdanx i think it sounds amazing, trying to summarise the sound i just keep coming back to the two words 'raw' and 'power', in that order :)

  • Damn, never heard this version before. Shit's so much better. Always wondered why I didn't like Raw Power as much as their other 2 albums. God, stupid-ass record companies.

  • i don't know....it's close...but i'd say iggy is better than axl....sarcasm intended

  • bad remastering.

  • The stooges sound so yummy on vinyl

  • I honestly believe that Iggy doesnt own a shirt.

  • @TheLostHymns he spent all his money on drugs

  • @MrWaveyDL of course its punk wtf you think it is? You mommas music?

  • 11 people couldn't handle the raw power...

  • came here from tv tropes!

  • "nice a loud": that's a really stooges fan typing there folks!

  • you can here the guitar nice a loud. good.

  • AXL ROSE SUX

  • I like the abrasively loud mix better than the original. It sounds like every instrument came to work that day with a hangover from 30 straight hours of drinking bad tequila and chainsmoking Lucky Strikes.

  • URRGH! Why is this song so scratchy!

my ears hurt! the quality seriously sucks ass.

  • 11 people don't lke real music xx lol xx

  • 0:00 BURP :D

  • Or, to put it another way, "RAW.... POWER!"

  • To all of you out there who don't like the distortion: you'll just never get it. You'll never understand punk rock. Your idea of punk rock is probably the slickly produced Sum41, Green Day, blah blah. This is the real McCoy and it's got the right sound. The Iggy remixes sound WAY better than the Bowie B.S.. And by the way, that's magnetic tape, not digital clipping. We need more music that sounds like this.

  • This sounds like garbage!

Not the song, but the sound. Not sure what the point of this remastering was, except to sound awful

  • @sp67four05all

    its okay, its punk

  • I love the loudness wars, love the sound of compression and distortion

  • @ieatstuffoffthefloor Oddly enough, this has nothing to do with the loudness war. This is the way that Iggy Pop remixed it.

Even the loudness war isn't this loud.

  • great song to go manic to

    lift some weights

    sort your life out

    don't think about the comedown

  • There are plenty of ways to make mixes sound "louder" or "more distorted" besides just digitally clipping the hell out of them and ruining them. I still kinda prefer these mixes though.

  • RAW POWER, BITCH! FUCK POP!

  • i like the 97 remix to me its the best and yes i have both

its how it should have sounded in 73

  • raw power pure rush on the works dont tell me what to do

  • Music to FUCK too!

  • Yeah, baby.......

  • the lyrics are sort of 30 years advanced. i did not do it. you did not do it. but i mean, ever you had a blister? this guy and his group blisters my ear. i mean to say "m%$#^Tf%$^vk45. this is guy and his band whipps ass!

  • iggy pop and the stooges were so far ahead of their time!

  • Bands just cant b this intense anymore, thats all there is 2 it!

  • it is all in the red. and try to play it motherfucker. you can't. i can, because i am detroit. you can't play it mutherfucker.

  • iggy and the stooges orginal punk raw rock and roll the mans a god a lunatic phyco genius

  • Reel music as been driven further underground than ever. It's the work of the debil.

  • this is real good music, much better than the popular music today like lady gaga and crap

  • Gnr rules. Duff and Axl and Matt Sorum tear this song up

  • There's a bar i go to where one asshole would put about 20 old c/w songs. I mean that old Hank Williams Sr. shit. I would then play this just for him. Man, he would be pissed.

  • I prefer the fucked-up original bonkers mix, too, but WTH...this is still damn good.

  • I have a conudrum, who is god?

Iggy or Lemmy? or are they part of the Holy Trinity of Rock & Roll along with Little Richard?

  • The third sounds right.

  • if u dont' rock out to this song u don't have a pulse.

  • God daaaamn this song is good. Wooooooo!

  • A in italy!

  • no comments? well here is one. no one can play this song. except the Stooges. no one understands how bloodthirsty this song is. it is the next movie sound track. the thing is, you can't play this song. i can play this song, and my band played it like a mutherfucker. lincoln park, michigan.... now suck my dick.

  • Reminds me of the 2nd July 2010 when I went to see them live. As soon as they rushed on stage playing this song, I yelled the lyrics and the guitar notes! Long live the Iguana!

  • starcraft 2:D

  • dirty cocks! YEA!

  • we all bow to this fuck. probably the most prolific words spit ! its us.

  • It's good. I like it. Every part of this shows a single intent. Can you imagine a guitar solo like that on some modern, "metal" album? They would never have the balls. This should have been much more successful the first time around.

  • Now i know where Foxboro Hot Tubs got their inspiration on the opening rift to Stop Drop and Roll

  • this mix is good 2

  • The punk started with MC5 and the Stooges, the garage sound.Today I see some bands that say to be punk,it´s a shame.I´m speaking the emocore.I hope the style comeback, because it´s hard to listen emo.I love style music,The Stooges rules!!

  • I got this L.P It`s really a Raw Power. This man taught too many people how to be a superstar one. Thera is a powerful overdose of crazy & talent undreground!

  • As a longtime Stooges fan, I nearly creamed myself when I found out this song was on the StarCraft II soundtrack. I mean, it's a cover, but it's impossible to go wrong with a Stooges song.

  • i'm fuckin love u

  • this is a vinyl put on youtube I can hear the crackling in the background

  • @royalnash Nope, cd. The audio is clipping, it's mastered so hot.

  • Quite possibly the best rock album of all time....just sayin'

  • @ChrisGnosis punk not rock :p

  • @MrWaveyDL

Iggy is more than punk, Iggy is the embodiment of everything good and right about rock.

which begs the question: is punk not rock?

  • @ChrisGnosis Rock can be loud or soft so no.

  • @DamonAlbarnFan

Punk can be just as soft as rock. listen to The Mob, Mischief Brew, Zounds, Killing Joke, Joy Division, Thatcher On Acid, The Minutemen. All had soft songs But Iggy embodies the loud destructive core of both. He is to rock what Led Zeppelin or The Who were, he is to punk what the Ramones or Misfits were. Also, Iggy has mellow stuff too, listen to The Passenger.

  • @ChrisGnosis Everything punk is rock, but not everything rock is punk i guess? I dont care its all great music. i'm on youre side.

  • @ChrisGnosis You have a valid point, but I'd say Fun House takes that title.

  • @ChrisGnosis Fuck no!

    ...thats FunHouse ;D

  • Timeless & AWESOME !!!

  • This is so potent I can feel the music rushing through my body. I don't even do drugs hahaha.

  • its sad that so many people dont know who the stooges are i feel empty on the inside

  • @thehouseofrock1 look what music is out there and popular at the moment and there is your answer :S hugs

  • Iggy and vodka.

  • un disque que j'ai racheté en cd ,la grande époque

  • RawFuckingPower !

  • The original punk album.

  • hello snatchdog...hi sir...

  • That's what my whole life was about until I kicked heroin. That is what this great song is about.

  • this is what's my whole life is about, rawfuckin'power. One of the best songs ever made.

  • How could someone talk about guns n roses in a The Stooges music post?? Have some respect for authentic music. Thanks!

  • Prefiero como lo hacen los guns n roses

  • RAW POWER !

  • iggy rocks but check out the new york dolls you won't be sry

  • Epic fucking album! Bought this when I was about 14 and I still have. The Stooges own!

  • 1997 remix..WAIT, that's not the god-awful In-The-Red Iggy Pop remix is it?

  • @rushnerd - Yep this is that one. The one that the rest of the band hated. They all preferred Bowie's original mix...except for Iggy.

  • @KingofMars62 Well, i like them both,

  • Why the band hated this mix? Don't know. This mix sounds killer and clearer and altogether better all around. And that's just listening to it on a computer.

  • @frankty67 There's your answer. Listen with headphones. Your head will explode.

  • @frankty67

that's probably why they hated it. I do admit I like understanding the words but otherwise its not as energetic, and the song is "raw power" after all.

  • @KingofMars62 Really? They hated it? I LOVE it. One of my all time favorite albums as far as the mix goes.

  • @rushnerd

guess we have a different interpretation of what's god awful, because thats exactly what I would say for bowie mixes.

  • @tumultus101

I don't care HOW razor thin the Bowie mix sounded, you just do not distort your own music on purpose no matter what. (referring to this one)

  • @rushnerd

Who is to say that iggy's version is not what the song sounded like in the studio? Maybe distortion is another band member ;) I just can't listen to bowie's version. it could be because i have iggy's version in FLAC and bowie's in mp3, but thats just how i feel :)

  • @tumultus101

I have the original new on vinyl lol, I win.

  • @rushnerd

:D throw away the vinyl and keep the sleeve :P

  • i love guns n roses and especially axl but iggy is unique...i also believe that the original one is most of the times the best one,and i am sure about this one

  • @liontasouou I FUCKING HATE AXL!!!!!!!!!!

  • FUCK AXL TWAT ROSE. I hate that faggot.

  • @liontasouou I HATE AXL! sorry just he sucks

  • no problem it's fair to hate him.i do not like him now,he's lost his voice, but he used to be great

  • @liontasouou To quote a mate,

"its not gunners, its fat axl and his shit band"

  • me too!!!!!!

  • lol dont be sorry man, we all know it, hes a cocksucker.

  • ah, rock music 101. duff does not do the 'walking' bass line. ron ashton, on bass, carries this song, and provides us with a sound that is unparralled in rock. put a lead player on bass. let him "walk" the bass line like a lead part. McCartney did it. Ron Ashton does it on this recording. Never have a "thump thump" bass player...like Duff. No discredit to the efforts of GNR, but, the bass line is the key in this song. Only Ron Ashton did it. No one else does it. Sad, but true.

  • not sad, happy :)

  • @teden20 i still do it in my rock band, its my favorite thing to do on bass, that a strippy stoner smooth stuff

  • -.- go whine about it fag! pissoff

  • i like this song. shit, i just listened to 27 times. and, i still like it. what the fuck? who are these guys? i mean, shit, it is fucking awesome.

  • Listen to "Gimme Danger" another side of them...

  • Comment removed

  • Now officially in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

  • Really? COOL!!! Overdue and much deserved. Too bad Ron won't be there to celebrate but I have a feeling he will be in spirit.

    8-)

  • @taineasy hey baby, when did that happen? i mean, i do not have television. i am in a remote part of the U.S. Are you saying the Stooges made the hall?

  • Believe it! December 15th 2009 the friggin Stooges in the Hall of Fame.

  • @taineasy Wait they got in this year? I was too pissed when I saw Abba on that list I guess I just overlooked it.

  • Magic....pure n hard ! Fkin Igg

  • For some reason I still think fun house is a lot better.

  • gnroses crap , raw power the stooges lollllll

  • this is not loud as it used to be. are you turn down the peak?

  • sounds great

  • what is an AV?

  • terrific album, I wish they'd included a track from "Raw Power" for the GTA IV soundtrack, especially since Iggy Pop...like we had "I Wanna Be Your Dog" on it, but you can never have enough Iggy

  • i googled what is av, audio video, setup , i guess.

  • Anyone know where i can find the original 1973 Bowie mix of the Raw Power Album? I've looked everywhere and i can only find the 97 remix

  • Remastered version with a pro recorded 73 gig due in april!

  • Why the FUCK does the Guns N' Roses version of this song have 12,000 more views? I love Guns, but come the FUCK on!

  • @standtall67 Guns and Roses were good at doing their own songs. Every cover I heard them do (along with Van Halen) I think pretty much sucked.

  • @daven58100 mama kin was a good cover from guns n roses, even aerosmith played it with them, jumping jack flash , was a great cover, heartbreak hotel, nice boys don't play rock n roll ,whole lotta rosie, most of them are before appetite was even planned ,i totally recommend you to listen to them and then you realize how good guns n roses was ,not the spaguetti, some of the illusions but not entirely, thats not guns n roses , guns n roses it's lies, appetite ,hollywood rose and live perfomances

  • @brutalvocals1979 g n' r did a version of "jumping jack flash"?

  • @standtall67 the "g n' r" version is better played; better musicianship -- a lot of punk had bad production, and although that's part of the genre's charm, a rock'n'roll version just rocks better -- i find this original groove to sound more like a demo record, or a band rehearsing a song, rather than performing it -- i'm looking for the "g n' r" version right now

  • To each their own, of course, but I gotta say: the song's called Raw Power and you're thinking about production and musicianship? That's not at all the strength of this. This is sloppy and badly produced and fella, it's raw.

  • @touchandgod sure, but i'm not talking about decibels, i'm talking about meter -- i guess prototypes are raw, but when a band learns a song, they find the sweet spots -- the "g n' r" version sounds like a band performing the song; not rehearsing it -- i'm cool with form & content fitting each other (i get your point), but if you wanna rock out...

  • @lukafafrenz guns are a good band but iggy and the stooges are raw power raw power raw power rock and roll raw power with james williamson is much berrer than raw power with slash, james willamson ,, god...

  • @lukafafrenz youre fucking HIGHHHHH if you wanna rok out theres no better album than raw power guns n roses version puts me to sleep stop doing drugs u fuckin sicko

  • wow april 2010 mix with gigs, thats great

  • i think the safest way is buy any old vinyl edition from the web

  • Well I've got it on vinyl LOL

  • and Michiganer too.yep anyone who knows Iggy knows that he rocks.

  • Just a humble request...if anyone has a problem with my AV, or anything about me, please post comments on my channel page instead of here. Most people just want to enjoy the tunes...I'll be more than happy to fight there. Well, that is, as long as you let me comment back on your page...

  • @KingofMars62 Your a bitch jk

  • @mercifulkyle - HAH!! Sez who?

  • this song reminds me of gg allin and fuck u with the fuckin che pic fuckin commy die

  • Why fuck you very much...how 'bout all the people who have died at the hands of US funded and supported right-wing military dictatrships and death squads? Don't preach to me...physician heal theyself.

  • both of u pieces of shit.

  • Whatever...just remember they don't want you to think on your own. We (the US) is always good no matter what we do. If you remember that you'll be just fine. Funny thing is I was about to change my AV because I was bored with it...now I think I'll keep it a bit longer, just on principles.

  • I aint right wing bitch

  • i like the gun's n roses version much better!

  • Twat. For fuck's sake...

  • Punk rock owe its very existence to this band.

  • You know it brother! I am from Detroit and saw Iggy and the Stooges at the Masonic. Don't need drugs or booze, just RAW POWER.

  • Raw Power! :-)) Thanks for the memories !

  • love it,it's so raw literally.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I never EVER get tired of this!!!

  • Any idea where to get this song? Im collecting Guns N´ Roses Spaghetti incident originals and having trouble with finding these and few other songs.

These kinda bands seem to be so god damn rare find in music stores around here..

  • it's from the album by Iggy & The Stooges also called Raw Power. it's still available in most shops, and will soon be coming back into public eye, because the band that recorded it has just reformed.

  • you suck

  • that's exactly what iggy would say...and i think you are stupid enough to be capable of doing the same

  • That must be why Rolling Stone called this the best pure power rock song ever made. It is a defining moment for rock and every rock song after it. It is easily one of the best 100 rock n roll songs ever made. You must also dislike the Ramones, The NY Dolls, Television, The Sex Pistols. They ARE rock. Everything else is elevator music. You know, crap like U2 , Coldplay, Dave Mathews and other commercial no talents. Green Day would not exist if it were not for bands like the Stooges, The MC5.......

  • ATOMIC FILTH OF GOD I LOVE U IGUANA

  • buuuurp :P

iggy said fuck you all, you only make me sick to my brain.....ahahahahah

    HE WAS RIGHT, DAMN

  • My band, The Brigands, from Lincoln Park, MI used to cover Raw Power in the 1983-84 period. it was met with silence. The "civilians" didn't know what to think; the visiting musicians were astounded. Powerfull sone, da.

  • I can see it. regular people don't understand the significance of the past. they don't know that everything came from some where else. This song personifies almost everything that punk, rock period represents. Well, to me anyway.

  • great song, but i prefer the original 1973 yersion on vinyl

mp3's and cd's have way lower sound quality
