  • @125barrett .... oh.

  • @125barrett No one in this video is American!

  • There was no chance. This man was taking on the great American navy.

  • @swanningaround you mean the Great British Navy. Read the description

  • @FienStudios The English copied American sea fighting tactics handed down by John Paul Jones, the world's greatest ever mariner. The Germans were never redible seamen anyway. The main sea battles were fought between Japan and the US.

  • @swanningaround well yes, but Britian started fighting in 1939 in the oceans while American begun in 1941

  • @FienStudios Wrong. US involvement began in 1937. The English tend to forget that Japan and China were in the war in 1937, and the US wa involved also. Meanwhile England was supporting Franco in Spain.

  • @swanningaround

    "US involvement began in 1937."

    Where?

  • @NearAbbeyRoad In China. That is when WW2 started.

  • @swanningaround

The USA were not actively in China in 1937.

The USSR and Japan fought a battle in 1939, in Manchuria, with the Soviets winning - as the Germans invaded Poland.

The USA active in the North Atlantic defending convoys against U-Boats before Dec 1941. They were not U-Boat hunting, merely defending convoys from attack.

  • a brave soldier respect them all regardless of which side these guys were lions led by donkeys

  • that is my grandfather, this is the first time i heard his voice. i still have his medals at my house in a safe.

  • @indonesia4eva

My uncles was killed by a U-Boat and we have his medals. I have never heard his voice.

  • Wow and he survived it al, i am looking for the book U-333 Peter Erich Cremer, in Europe that is, can anybody advice me where to get it? many thankx in advance

    Kindest regards Moon

  • I would have lost it after a half hour.

  • I have read this book U333 about five times now.Luck, skill and fate all have their part to play in Peter Cremers survival.A must read for anyone interested in U-Boats

  • Respect to our arch enemy, these men were MEN, enemies or not. Fk me, I am in awe of their discipline though they fought for the wrong, which they knew I am sure of it but kept on for their country knowing they must lose in the end. Tks for posting matey, this is a good one.

  • Yes, as a German it was terrible to fight for the wrong, but you must to it for the country. It was a real nightmare for a lot of them. They knew Germany survival was in play, so Hitler or not, they must fight. I would do the same even hatting the Nazis. Why? because I love Germany, but it was not better to love Germany fighting against Hitler? Well, would the Russians, English, US stop destruying Germany? Yes, a real nightmare. Good it is over I pray forever.

  • I guess ramming was the final and only choice he had....All option evaporated, so I can't see any bravery, except suicidal act of duty to come out alive other end. Most dogging question ... How he ended up so close to destroyer? Left him no retreat even for Torpedo, sound like cowboy Captain!

  • imrank340, I think that he was so close because the allied ship had 'radar' as the Capt says at the beginning.

  • go and wash your mouth out with soap you are not fit to kiss the backside of these brave men

  • Anyone interested should look up the book "U333 : the story of a U-boat ace" by Peter Cremer (in collaboration with Fritz Brustat).

  • Very good video ! 5 *

HMS Crocus didn't destroy U-333. Peter Cremer was a brave u-boat commander. And saved his crews life.

  • You have bullet in your HEAD and CHEAST!? And you are so young!? And do you know how U-Boat look like? Such a shame that, this kind of people, don't respect the brave man of U-Boats.

  • i think if we were in his place we would have done the same,it is very easy for us to sit behind our keyboards and lectursen what he could have done but in war it is either kill or be killed

  • Hog wash.Every foe thinks that every brave man on the other side should be on his. Cremers was a great commander and obviously on the right side which is his nation.

  • Just your perverted dirty mind.

  • A brave story indeed!Ive read a more detailed account of his & other U-boat commanders in the book "His Admirals Wolf Packs".

  • Excellent first hand account from the other side. It is a shame that such a brave man who gives the appearance of a perfect gentleman should have been on the wrong side.

  • Is there any "right" side ?

  • In this case, yes.

  • Das ist gut ya

  • make sure you check out my recently added film "The Imperial War Museum London - a YouTube tribute"

It features plenty of hand held footage, including WW2 footage and World at War interviews

  • I also put up some footage from the Imperial War Museum but it is not as good as yours!

  • Great

    Post more..

  • Peter Cremer was kind enough to send me a signed photo about 20 years ago.He survived longer during the war than most skippers which was ironic as due to his part English/French ancestry, he was nearly turned down when applying to join the Kriegsmarine!!

  • What a great first hand account. Thanks for uploading this video. World at War Series is great.
