@ilikeeverything69 Well yes, the drum patterns are almost always partially a 4/4 half time back beat and snare against a poly-meter on the kick that follows the guitars. That is pretty much the meat and potatoes of Meshuggah's sound. However, it is very uncommon to hear them play a drum pattern that is entirely 4/4 against the guitars as the only polymeter. In fact I can only recall 2 times I have heard this from them in recent memory and that is in this song and a pattern in the I EP.

@ilikeeverything69 Well yes, the drum patterns are almost always partially a 4/4 half time back beat and snare against a poly-meter on the kick that follows the guitars. That is pretty much the meat and potatoes of Meshuggah's sound. However, it is very uncommon to hear them play a drum pattern that is entirely 4/4 against the guitars as the only polymeter. In fact I can only recall 2 times I have heard this from them in recent memory and that is in this song and a pattern in the I EP.

@xBLOODBAFx Well, personally I have definition, that I believe in, but it is personal. I believe the soul is what places us inside of our own minds, if that makes any sense to you. The brain is able to create cosciousness, but the soul is what personalises it, and creates the self, within the cosciousness. Think about it, what cosmic law is it that enabled you to suddenly wake up and be aware? In a way, "fate" chose you, and you specifically. That is a gift, that I like to call soul.
