now i understand why everyone wants one of these not just the 844 but all of em in general i just finally got the 844 last saturday at trainfest in milwaukee and i gotta say the detail is amazing.
Wow, that's incredible. My Grandfather has started passing down his collection to me and he gave me 3 engines, one of them being the 844 in your video. I seen you have the flex track, I was wanting to switch to that eventually. I just have prefab Bachman track, but I think it'd be easier to run the curves when I add landscaping to my layout.
Is it possible to purchase the puffing smoke unit somewhere, and to put in like Seuthe. Maybe a electronic device with some more handling. What I also like to know is how it rides, how many cars it can pull, so, how it is use when "playing" with it. That is right that is big, big disadvantage with Seuthe. Was it out of the box oer did you do some break-in driving?
one thing you got to watch for with Suethe smoke units is the wire that portrudes from the bottom of the unit. It should be straight up-and-down; not bent, so that it touches the metal contact at the bottom of the chimney hole. I had this problem with both Suethe units on my 3985. Also, you can get smoke fluid from Viessmann that doesn't leave a residue like the Suethe fluid. Have a look for the Viessmann fluid at eurorailhobbies up in Vancouver BC.
At 8:51, that loud woosh sounds like the brake release sound on the default LNER Flying Scotsman for Microsoft Train Simulator. :/ Was that a default sound for the Athearn Union Pacific #844? Or did you add that yourself?
I plan on putting a Tsunami decoder in mine when the funds come together. I have a lot of other locomotives that I need to put decoders in so its not a priority for me right now.
