Nice shooting. That one at 3:28 was an instant kill as you can see its jaw go slack before it even starts to fall to the ground. I see you're in Danby, I lived there on Michigan Hollow Rd. We're in town now and still have plenty of groundhogs that like to eat our flowers and garden vegetables, but can't really shoot them. Gunshots don't go over well in Ithaca. Danby is beautiful though- really great wildlife/nature out there.
@Theshadeturrret Yeah, thats what it is. It's not that loud, maybe it just sounded a little loud because I was right next to the camera. Fun little gun.
haha props to you man i was ground hog hunting all day today and only got three its so hard for me to get close to em with out them seeing me any tips most of my shots our out at 350 to 400 yards haha
@Americanstrong5 Well if your taking long shots like that, you have to be prone and use a bipod. If you want to get closer, try sitting in a good spot and wait for them to come out.
@Americanstrong5 if you cant get close to em chase em back in their hole and wait for em to peak there head out it usually takes ten or fifteen minutes for em to feel safe enough to come out an see whats up . i hunt em with my bow and that technique aint failed me yet. once they poke their head out you can just shoot em with a 22 or what ever you use.
@Americanstrong5 today i went woodchuck hunting for the first time wit my grandpa in his back field, shot it but missed lol, went back out this time wit pellet gun and yes i aimed for head but when i shot it, the pellet went JUST over its head so went ghetto lol and got some smoke bomb because i could hear them warning other ones, put a big rock in one of there holes and put smoke bomb in there and lit it but they didnt come out, so ima try next week end lol :D
@BMADsHunting i live in danby, ny (just outside of ithaca) and where i shoot woodchucks (my backyard) i don't have more than a 50 yard max range, usually closer to 15-20 yards. if you ever wanna see a woodchuck go down quick, use a turkey-choked 12 gauge with a 3inch turkey load, lol. it was all i had at the moment, but it worked amazing. almost like cheating...
@journey1983b No it wasn't hard to find him because the farmer's field next to my house is infested with them. He can barley run his equipment through there with out damaging it from hitting the hundreds of holes.
what kind of ammo...standard?

your shooting animals that arent smart enough to move when they hear a gunshot ?? thats impressive
rtorres88 1 year ago
@rtorres88 No not impressive, just easy and good target practice! Besides the farmer hates the things, they ruin his fields.

Nice shooting! Really tough to make a 100 yard shot freehand.

good shooting and camera work. How far can your camera zoom in and keep that very clear image?
slam869 2 years ago
Well the optical zoom is 20x, after that the pic stays clear as long as you dont get the animal huge in the picture.
