Ermeni kardeşlerim, acılarınızı paylaşıyorum. Keşke tarihdeki olaylar olmasaymış, yaşanmasaymış. Ama gelin görünki olmuş. Özür dilemekten başka yapabileceğimiz maalesef bir şey yok. Allah Ermenilerin de Türklerin de yolunu açık etsin, kardeşliklerini yeşillendirsin, büyütsün.
Derazor çöllerinde yaralı çoktur Gelme doktor gelme çarası yoktur Allahtan gayrı hiç kimsem yoktur Dini bin uğruna giden Ermeni Derazor çöllerinde bayıldım kaldım Harçlığım tükendi, evladım sattım Ana ben bu candan bıktım osandım Milleti uğruna giden Ermeni Goyver ana goyver gedelim çöle Olalım çırçıplak Araba köle Söylensin derdim dillerden dillere Evladı uğruna giden Ermeni
yes, you made it very right, (sorry for my little bad English), some parts of the song are a little bit difficult to understand, especially in the origin version, especially the last part (first of all because of bad recording)
but I think the last part is a little different between origin and the version of NOUR, I think in origin is:
"yol ver Meyrana? (maybe he means " give me free way (permit me) Meyram Ana [Mother Maria]",
but NOUR sing: "yol ver Habur (give me free way Habur)"
V. Shab. (from Erzincan ?) sing this (with fine Turkish-Anatolian accent): Derzor Cöllerinde yarali coktur,... gelme doktur gelme carasi yoktur bir Allah'tan baska hic kimsen yoktur dini bin ugruna giden giden Ermeni Derzor Cöllerinde bayildim kaldim,... harcligim tükendi evladim sattim ana ben bu candan biktim usandim millet ugruna giden Ermeni yol ver ??? yol ver, geceyim cölden evladim (közisiginda??), aradim köyde söylensin destanem dillerden dile evlat ugruna giden Ermeni
there was also a commercially produced vinyl 78 record of this song, made in NY in the 1920s by Vahan Boyajian, accompanied by oud and violin. entitled "Der Zor Dasdaanaci" but its the same song. also Verjine Svazlian has written a book on the turkish language lamentations of that era inlcuding this song. the book is transcribed and posted on the internet somewhere.
Hi, thx a lot for the information re: Vahan Boyajian recording. When we were doing research we also came across the name of Professor Svazlian and her book about lamentations. Do you by any chance know other lamentations in Turkish from the same era that Armenians sang?
Hi , I am the director of the film Back to Ararat, in 1985 I have filmed a woan in the Armenian Home for Old People. She could not talk, the only thing she wanted to do was to sing and over and over again she sang the Der zor song,
which is a very long one, more than 400 verses. You can see her in the movie. she is then almost 90 yeras old. I have the footage.
@skhard I found Vahan Boyajian singing Gargeghar Canto and Rast Gazel on BilBil Record No.6 recorded in New York City on 78 rpm. I just listed it on eBay.
@skhard Please send us more information about this song, where we can find more verses and most importantly if we can access this footage! I will contact you personally as I am working on a project to centralize tradiitonal armenian songs and music... Please send me your contact info.
My grandfather used to sing this song. We are Assyrians btw.

The text goes as follows -
In the Deserts of Derzor they are many injured people
don't come doctor, don't come, there is no remedy (for this)
I have nobody but God
Armenians go (are deported) for their religion
in the deserts of Derzor I fell and fainted
my allowance was up, I have sold my child
oh mother, I can't take it, I have to enough of this life
Armenians go (are deported)for their nation
avocadill 3 years ago 2
Permit me Habur (river) let me pass through the desert.
My child is naked and slave to the Arabs(Arab'a kole)
Let people speak about my fate from generation to generation
Armenians go (are deported) for their child

and then.
origin: "ovladim? (evladim?=my child) kibkibran (maybe he mean cirilciplak=very naked), Arab'a köle? [slave to the Arabs]"
NOUR: evladim közshinda? (maybe: köz-isiginda?=in ash-light]], Arab'in köyde (=in the village of Arabs).
When you have the correct turkish origin, then we can post the lyrics again
