THIS song. Above all the other wonderful FF8 songs. Makes me think of my hometown back when it seemed carefree and wonderful. When life seemed endless.
this whole area in the game made me thing. "isent laguna the enemy? and yet... he can be so nice, pleasant..." i was doubting id even be able to kill him if i ran into him... it makes you think, ya know... everyone has some sorta life... not just you. if anyone dies, someone will be sad.
i feel that way alot when my life is to evil and cruel and i go through too many flashbacks of my life ppl coming in and out of my life my former jenn scott left me in my life in 11-13-10 and my big siblings cheered me up when i cried. my big siblings are the closest to the family cause i hate being a Khazov and independent living is my problem
@MRresievil310 Lmao yes so true... The time this memory flashes in my head was when I celebrate my 5th anniversary with my girlfriend and I set up a candlelight dinner in my backyard with this song playing from my handphone. :D
i played this when i was 7...i still remember when my bro bought this game for the pc version and got pretty nice scolding from my mother...the disc always make the game hang, especially disc 3....now i'm 16 and i'm still playing it on my psp. It does bring back a lot of memories.....
My grandmother was having her second battle with cancer... I was at home when the phone rang. My mother then came into my room, crying. "Your grandma just died." I swear it felt like time froze. I just recently beat FF8 again and this song played in my head, flashbacks reeling in along. My grandmother was the one closest to me out of all my family, she was always there for me, she raised me. Even though she had alzheimers, she never forgot about me. She passed 05/05/10. I will always miss her...
I think living in a small country village like Winhill would probably be too insular or traditionalist for my tastes but if I had to choose between that or the profane horror and inescapable brutality of frontline trenches I know I would prefer Winhill.
Especially if this soothing and endearing little track played all day long :)
When i was around 9 years old my grandmother brought me this game. I remember playing it for months. I can't imagine what it'd be like if my grandma passed away and I came back to listen to this music. I think I'll cry a lot.... Fragment of Memories indeed. :'(
A couple weeks ago, my grandma died from cancer and my mom was heartbroken. I was playing final fantasy 8 and I was at this part and when I left the room, my mom hugged me really tightly. I will never forget you grandma.
I love this soundtrack so much. Nobuo Uematsu is the reason I started writing music, I heard his music 14 years ago and haven't stopped writing since
They don't make games like these anymore.. :-( Most amazing game I've ever played, and will ever play. Tought me so much about moral and general kindness.. for some reason. Whenever I hear this music I get sad and want to play again, and sometimes I do :)
Everyone! We must send for a warrior from distant lands to kill the giant caterpillars! If we delay any longer, they might turn into giant butterflies!!!
@Pankratous LOL.... some card very difficult.... i hate playing with martin...... the person that sit at the fisherman horizon and rinoa father... = =.... wanna lose a ifrit card so damn difficult..... rinoa's father card so damn noob!!!! i use 3 hours to lose my ifrit card to him =.=||| (sweat)
I'm remembering my childhood while listening to this song. I knew a girl, that I still know today. he mother died in the 1st grade, and she was very depressed, although even through my innocence. I would try to cheer her up. It's probably the happiest years of my life, figuring that I was the only person that could cheer her up, and make her smile. Today she is very energetic, and I dare say a happier person then I am.
@Graven754 ...sounds like love, man. (I checked your profile to make sure u were a dude so I didn't sound stupid) But seriously, that's the kind of shit that REAL love is made of. Maybe when you're older, the pieces of your story will fall in place.
I remember when i first clocked this game. I made a seperate save file Right at this point of the story, just so i could go back and listen to this soundtrack. <3
the songs from final fantasy used to be so catchy, I'd always find myself humming along with them. But they're totally not now, no one can replace Nobuo Uematsu!

i feel sad for laguna , first julia goes , then raine dies and he most of his life chasing ellone poor guy (though he managed to become president so its not all bad)
Heh could there be a better place where you can relax away from a terrible world war than Winhill and this music? Ellone seemed like such a fun little girl to spend time with. I find the game empathised this, where you moved from a tense and a deadly battle against Edea and Seifer in an enemy city far from home only to find yourself in the contentment of Winhill and this tune. Relaxed me every time I played :)
It's a shame the townspeople treated Laguna like such crap though :(
sometimes i wish technology would slow the fuck down. i dont care if the graphics are shitty. that just means the developers have to work harder on a good story. or a badass card sidequest..which is WAY better than the one in IX ;)

this song makes me remember one of my fav scenes in the game,, when laguna was trying to get Julia's attention (rinoa's mother) the singer,,
