  • @bettyskitchen Can I use Fluff instead of marshmallows?

  • @atchoouumXD Yes, that would be great!

    --Betty :)

    --Tiffany :)

  • This is a Favorite, you did such a wonderful job on this one (too), Betty, and I want to share it on my channel, so now I've got it. I must add, it does remind me a little bit of that Brair Rabbit and Tar Baby ride at Walt Disney World, for some silly reason. :-) Bet it tastes yummy, can't wait to make it!

  • @SwordofSpirit1 Thanks for your lovely comment! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • @maweevii If you have Rice Krispies, those are perfect!

    --Betty :)

  • @maweevii Try Rice Krispies or a rice based cereal! Hope this kind of helped!! :)

  • @maweevii Try a rice based cereal!! :)

  • What would be best to use on the pan or pot so it won't stick. Margarine or Pam spray?

  • @crazychan209 Either is fine--they work equally well.

    --Betty :)

  • mmmmm :) how many calories are in it?

  • posting at 214 am now im hungry lol nanowrimo writers snack time - coffee break ideas. - linda r.

  • I've made them with Special-K cereal and they turned out great. Instead of melting the chocolate, I just put the chips in with the cereal after the marshmallows are melted. I also melt chunky peanut butter in with the marshmallows and butter. Try it, you'll love it!

  • @sourgirl1964 That sounds wonderful! Thanks for the tips!

    --Betty :)

  • We dont have "Cap'n Crunch Cereal" her in Canada, what else can i use?

  • @girlwithbunnyslipper Rice Krispies are perfect. If you can't find those, just use a cereal that is in circles or balls--not flakes.

    --Betty :)

  • @girlwithbunnyslipper We have it here in Ontario.

  • @girlwithbunnyslipper We have it here in Ontario.

  • @girlwithbunnyslipper We have it here in Ontario.

  • @girlwithbunnyslipper We do so have the Cap'n in Canada. I am eating the Cap'n right now in Calgary that I bought yesterday. I grew up in Nova Scotia and I ate the Cap'n there also.

  • @girlwithbunnyslipper ya we do speak for your self

  • @girlwithbunnyslipper we have cap'n crunch in canada its my fav

  • OMG im gonna make some later but we don't have cap n' crunch here but ill use an alternative cereal :D

  • While I was combining the melted chocolate with the rest of the ingredients, the chocolate started to...I don't know what word to use to describe it, exactly.. maybe "coagulate".

It was sort-of drying-out and solidifing as I was stirring it in the mix.

So I added some more butter to it, and when that wasn't quite enough, I added some goat's-milk as well.

    It worked like a charm!

I took it out of the fridge after half-an-hour, and it was amazing!

    :)

  • @SinnFein4ever Whew! You had me thinking that it didn't turn out! You did the right things! I'm happy your Cap'n Crunch Squares were good!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

    (looks sheepish)

    Sorry I worried you, Betty.

...And by the way, I always say "Captain Crunch", also.

It's what comes of having a professor of Latin and Greek for a father.

    ;)

  • I made this last night.

I took your advice, and did some experimenting.

I used hand-made marshmallows from the confectionary, instead of the bagged kind.

I subsituted "Peanut Butter Panda Puffs" (an organic cereal from some company called "Enviro-Kidz Organic") for the Captain Crunch.

And I used salted goats-milk butter instead of margarine; and some organic milk-chocolate-chips from "365" (that's Whole Foods house-brand name).

  • I wonder how much a double-broiler would cost.

  • @SinnFein4ever I don't think they are very expensive. It will work fine to just place one pot over a pot of boiling water.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

    Ok, Thanks!

    I'll do that.

I know a locally-owned cooking-supply store that sells all sorts of stuff not made in China.

This idea will work until then.

    :)

  • if you wet your spoon with cold water it works !

  • loved to eat it!

  • Looks great !

    thanks Betty ^^

  • Great idea! I will try this!

  • Thanks Betty all your recipes are great! I am just learning to cook and you are making me look like I have been cooking all my life :-)

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • Your recipes never fail Betty. =]

  • @gray3899 Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • I've thought of doing this! I think it's a Great Idea!

I wouldn't use chocolate chips though, maybe crushed peanuts instead. . .or nothing. Cap'n Crunch is great all by itself.

  • Crushed peanuts sound good--and Cap'n Crunch is great by itself!

    --Betty :)

  • yAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMY

  • I hope that means you like the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • i think i might try that

  • I hope you had an opportunity to try the recipe, and I hope you liked it!

    --Betty :)

  • You can also spray the bottom of the pan and the spatula with Pam this will help the marshmallow not stick .

  • That's a great tip! Thanks so much for commenting!

    --betty :)

  • Where can I buy a melting pan like the one you have? I definitely need one of those.

  • You can find one of those at a store like Walmart, Kohl's or Target. Just look for it when shopping in the cooking utensil section!

    --Betty :)

  • Can I use white chocolate?

Cause i like white chocolate better

  • Yes, definitely, you can use white chocolate--that sounds great! Thanks for your idea!

    --Betty :)

  • Can i use butter instead of margarine? I hate trans fats.

  • Yes, definitely, use the butter--it will be great!

    --Betty :)
