I hate how so many people care in the game/console is i HD or not nowadays. Its the fucking game that matters, if the games sucks in SD, it'll suck in HD too. Quit being little pesky pricks about the resolution of games.

I have a friend who will not play his ps3 unless its in HD or it 'looks like shit'...

I'm getting quite heavy intereference when I use my first party component campble with my 1080p tv. I've had it as long as I've had this tv so at first I thought it was something to do with the tv being 100 Hz and updating the picture faster than the console but as I've moved the console a bit the apparent intereference have shifted in strength. I don't care that much about Wii not being HD but digital output would've been very nice.

Your TV isn't updating faster than the console. It's refresh rate is capable of up to that speed, it's not always set to that speed. It will refresh as fast as the device it's hooked to is telling it too. What do you mean by interference? Wii on a 1080P LCD or Plasma is going to look terribly stretched because of the resolution difference... the image is literally stretched to over double its size. If it's actually interference it could be a few different things.

@Zethion Yeah, I know it's not updating that fast, I just thought it might have something to do with some 100 Hz feature on the tv I had on. And yeah, of course it looks horrible when it's stretched... unless you can get it to stretch one-to-one as I am doing using a built-in 'computer mode' on my tv, i.e. if I use 480p it will upscale to 960p and then leave a frame. Looks a lot better than upscaling 480 to 1080.

@Zethion ... But the flickering caused by the interference isn't an issue anymore as I've gone back to my composite cable. I think it still looks as good on my tv and I don't even notice that it's interlaced instead of progressive scan.

Well, it looks sharper with the component cables, but i have a PAL Wii which can upscale to 576i and that looks better on a bigger TV.

ok true 480p is not HD anymore but for your information about 10 years ago it was! just as 1080p will not be the highest resolution 10 years from now. i was showing the difference between the two types of connectors for Wii and the upgraded 480p connection is way better than the 480i standard connection. GaWd!

no the audio stays the same but cod4 is a great game on the wii! You will like it a lot more than 007. Also black ops is really fun too and has voice chat and you dont need to enter friend codes to add people like the other games. another forgoten gem is world at war this game is a little older but very fun to!
