yes, shot in the shoulder. Alive probably not...the .44 magnum is a big round, and being hit by one would mean a big hole where you were hit, and that would mean a lot of blood. Now if he did survive he wouldn't have done so for long, much less have returned in the next game, you will bleed out after a while and shepard wasn't exactly looking where he was shooting...think about it...big bullet, loss of a lot of blood, can u really recover that fast?

(You can see what Ghost's face looks like if you watch the MW2 pre-release trailer and at the point where the guy is shutting the locker door you see Ghost without the mask. I'm pretty sure it's Ghost cause in game that exact same guy is Ghost with the mask.)
