  • When was this recorded? It doesn't seem to be from a performance of the opera, but neither is it one of his studio recordings (1933 Polydor or 1954 EMI) or his 1949 live performance.

  • Yes - and although the audio quality is not modern, the wonderful interpretation by Furtwängler comes through.
