@EllaChase I was not impressed with Iowa having to block a last second field goal to beat Northern Iowa 17-16, last year. Come on, D"s don't play great every play or every game and not every Big Ten team has a great defense. Indiana, Northwestern,Illnios, Purdue and even Michigan last year didn't have great defenses while Nebraska's D led the nation in fewest TD's allowed and only gave up 10 points per game to be 1st in the nation in that department last season.
@EllaChase i am very shocked that you, as an iowa fan, would not take bo pelini's team seriously. first of all, idaho has 10 starters back on defense, which maybe isnt all impressive because of how bad they were last year, but we also have a redshirt freshman quarterback playing in his second college football game ever (and starting), and by next year he will have a full season of experience and another offseason to solidify his knowledge of the offense. he only gets better from here on out.

wow, taylor martinez' running style is VERY similar to eric crouch's. watch on the 67 yard TD how he leans and headfakes when he cuts, and then scores with breakaway speed. very impressive.

@NUHusker09 kansas state will be a good test because they are well coached and have a fantastic running back. after UCLA got stomped by stanford, k-states win didnt seem all that impressive, but daniel thomas is a beast. he ran for 234 yards on only 28 carries against UCLA, and nebraska's defense has been having trouble stopping the run. all im saying is, we better take the wildcats seriously.
@nickbeau1 You can't base a team on a loss from a team who lost to a bad team. Brigham Young has won atleast ten games for 4 years in a row. I am confident Nebraska will win, but Washington is much better than Idaho. Idaho plays in the WAC, and Washington plays in the Pac 10. The Pac 10 is much better than the WAC. And Washington had like three games where they lost in the last second. They very well could have had a winning season. We'll see Saturday.

@kylesteinhauser Washington is still something notable. You can't underestimate anyone. Not even South Dakota State. Expect each of your opponents to come with their best game no matter what skill they are. Expect their best, and play your best. You do those two things and you should be good.

@carv5playa Our Defense looked terribly sloppy last week. We had over 10 penalties. That's not a National Title team performance. Especially when you're playing Idaho. For heaven sake, Texas went to the National Title after only scoring 13 on us last year, and we come in and let Idaho score 17? Arizona couldn't score a single Touchdown! WKU and Idaho shouldn't have scored more than a Field Goal. Imagine what Washington could do if Idaho could.

You cant expect this years black shirts to be playing at that level this early in the season . However, they shut down locker , who is supposed to be an HT candidate ! @carv5playa I know. I complained about that to my dad, and he said that it's extremely difficult to remain best in the nation for a 2nd year in a row. That is true though. I don't think South Dakota State is too much of a challenge although we will look better. We couldn't lose to South Dakota State if we tried to. They're just too far under matched. We could score 8 Rushing TD's with Martinez if we wanted to. If I was Bo, I'd put in the 2nd and 3rd stringers to rest the starters for the future.

@carv5playa They got killed by Illinois State and also lost to Delaware. Their defense is horrible. They lined two guys on Martinez though to shut him down, and it worked. Its easier to Game Plan against Nebraska than ISU and DU, because Nebraska has film. I think Nebraska should have scored 63-70 points, but we got shut down.
@NUHusker09 Yeah Delaware ran for 257 yards on them and their defense was on the field all day so we should have ran for 350 ! Most defenses will get rolled if their on the field all day though. Their defense is their strength but your right ,were supposed to put up a 60 or 70 spot on schools like SD.

Credit to the Vandals though, for fighting until the last play. It definitely says something about Idaho and Coach Akey's squad. Nebraska is a very solid team and for the Vandals to only lose by 21 is nothing to be ashamed about. Take away the 5 picks and this would have been a very different game.

@L33tP1ckL 7 points were scored on the reserves and the other touchdown came from a turnover. Helu was only a junior last year, and Taylor Martinez has always been number 3. Zac Lee is number 5.

@TheBigTenNetwork considering that most of those Idaho scores were not full drives against the Blackshirts, we can't be too worried. And we're not gonna show Washington ANYTHING at all, so Nebraska couldve done better but there is no need. The 4 turnovers is something that has to be fixed but they were mistakes experience can fix, and averaging 300 rushing yards is nothing to hang our heads about

@L33tP1ckL b. a lot of it was the offense fault, cuz of their turnovers it gave them good field position, plus u have to give credit to the defense for have 5 interceptions...ya i said 5!
