this temple wasnt that hard...i had a harder time finding the damn cavern holding the key to open the gate in faron woods then here. but then again this being my first zelda game ever, i was a noob....
Some water dungeons are pretty easy, like the Angler's Tunnel and the Ancient Cistern. Others are always the hardest in their games, like the Mermaid's Cave and Jabu Jabu's Belly in Ages, and of course, The Water Temple.
Actually, Skyward Sword's water temple was kinda a joke. It had awesome music and design coupled with a hard boss, but the temple itself was really easy for a water dungeon.
@Simizzet I really don't think that the boss was that hard either. Althought Koloktos was my favourite boss in the game itself, he didn't put up much of a challenge for me, as the axe blades could be dodged by rolling to the right and then immediatly forward. and then rolling slightly left, right or forward with the three arm strike. The sword part was easy once you got one of his sabres and cut him down to size in the most literal sence of the term.
You think the Water Temple was repetitive and annoying? Try the Great Bay Temple from Majora's Mask. Many of its puzzles are cryptic, the stray fairies are at times, hard to find, and having to find all the valves and activate them. At least you get the ice arrows.
I'm replaying Twilight Princess, and I'm currently standing in front of the entrance to Lakebed, refusing to go in because I don't wanna be in there for days.........
@eriinthehedgehog22 how weird, OOT gave me headaches with the keys. Great bay wasnt too hard if you remember the colored pipes i think, this monstrosity is probably up there with the water temple >.>
this music only reminds me of the damn temple....but its not so bad listening to it without playing. the only part about Lakebed was that i enjoyed the water sliding parts XD
I beat this temple no prob the first time then on the second try it was alot harder than the first time because my memory sucks and i tried to remember were i was supposed to go.
@BeWaReTheMetalHead Honestly the Great Bay Temple was easy for me and it was my first time no walkthrough. The Water Temple from Oot on the other hand...
I broke the game on this temple by saving/quitting at a bad point and I couldn't complete it the normal way. Luckily through a bit of luck and cleverness I got to beat it anyway... BAD LAKEBED TEMPLE! NO SEQUENCE BREAKING!
Don't all kill me at once, but in hindsight I'm glad I bought the official walkthrough/guide. I remember it came in the mail just as I got to the Lakebed Temple.
well most people finish twilight princess in about 40 hours play time....I have succeeded in spending 40 hours in the lakebed temple alone .__."" I'm STILL in there. good god I just might die before I get out of this damned water temple
@horsegirlrachael It's soo easy, mind you it did take me ages the first time coz it is rather confusing but after a while it grew on me. Took me about half an hour minimum :) I had to do it on mine and then my brother needed help so I gave him some hints.
@horsegirlrachael After the boss key, clawshot your way back and go to the main room. At the bottom of the stairs, in the middle where the Skullfish are, the big door with the boss lock. In there's Morpheel. Those tips ok for you? :)
One of the most fucking infuriating temples I've ever had to get through, GOD it took me bloody ages to get those stairs to finally go the right way right at the end before you fight that wonderfully charming boss -____-
@metalshredmartyr The boss was actually the first and only boss in the game series that made my hair stand up on end. I have a mild fear of water bodies so, the whole drifting down and having to fight a giant water snake..... *shiver*
The first time i played the game, i thought this temple was just as bad as the Water Temple from OoT, but in my last playthrough of TP i kinda liked it to be honest :)
This temple wasn't close to as hard as the OoT temple but i have to admit it was harder than the rest of the temples in the game. Well for me it was and the music seemed to fit right in with the temple. Water temples you either love em of hate em
I was spooked before ever entering thtemple because of that huge abyss of Lake Hylia, and to that dark water you fall into before sinking down into the dark to fight the boss.
I had the same feeling. And in the case of the boss room I was able to make out the silhouette of a giant gear shape in that dark water, which turned out to be just a circular area with pillars, but still for some reason it gave me an uncomfortable feeling.
This whole temple in general made me uncomfortable. Especially the final boss, the fact that you start out with a rather easy opponent and then end up with a giant fish-thing chasing you in the water where you're not very agile and fast is just not very fun.
once that music hits, all I can hear is "get ouuuuuuuuttttttt!!!!"

what ive noticed with water temples is,
First, they're almost always damn near impossible
Second, The way u win without a walktrough is mostly sheer luck, if not, than my hat's off to u good sir/ma'dam.
and third, They always have alot of water involved (Couldnt think of anything...)
